I pirate older games that have their authentication servers down and I still have the physical copies.
On the topic of old games, I really wish I could get heavy gear working. That just doesnât want to run unless I use very old hardware
âŚaight.
reserved one of the new Model D mice from Glorious PC yesterday. Itâll replace my Rival 600 that Iâve been using for the past year or so on and off.
Steam Autumn Sale is now through December 3rd. So far in my haul, I picked up the following:
Resident Evil 2 Remake
Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night
This will probably be it for this sale. My major damage will probably be in the Winter Sale.
YeahâŚIâm gonna pass on the Autumn sale this year.
Only thing I did get was the Steam controller.
I need to do some in-place upgrades, mainly a newer motherboard and faster and higher capacity RAM (thinking a 32gb kit). Iâve had the same motherboard and RAM for close to three years (itâll be January 3rd that marks the three year point for those items). I bought a MicroATX board initially to save money and complete my build.
Got the components that I want wishlisted on Newegg, will probably pull the trigger mid-December on them.
So I reinstalled windows on a new ssd and itâs saying I canât activate it because my key isnât valid.
uhh⌠Help.
is your key tied to a Microsoft account, or to your hardware? Sounds like reinstalling to the new SSD generated a device ID change, which triggered your failed activation.
Hardware activation means your key isnât tied to a Microsoft acct.
Ok I did get a new mobo and cpu too. I never tied it to my microsoft account.
thereâs this article I found that has a command to generate an offline ID that you can get Microsoft to provide a response to and you can reactivate that way âŚ
You can also get the activation ID from the activation menu iirc.
I donât understand any of that, but it didnât work.
Can I just put my old parts back in or what?
Meh whatever, just gonna buy a new key. They are cheap asf anyways. I didnât now about the 1 PC thing with these OEM keys.
Just contact MS tech support telling them you need to reactivate windows, have your Serial Key ready, they will walk you through a process where you get reactivated
I did that and the guy just said the keyâs been exhausted already.
If you have a key for an old version of windows it should work. Like if you have an old win 7 key laying around you can use that to activate
I went and bought a new one, but it didnât work and when I called support the lady told me itâs because itâs a Win 7 key so Iâm getting a refund.
Edit: Got one from ebay for $4 and it works.
Fucking hell, Iâm seriously tempted to temporarily stop my pledge to not give Blizzard/Activision money over the Gamestop deal for Modern Warfare on PC.
Welp been 9 years since I built my first PC besides the SSD and HDD nothing else is carrying over, building a new rig from scratch trying to take advantage of these black friday/cyber monday deals GG my wallet.
