wife finished up her PC yesterday and between troubleshooting and trying to get her PC to display on our TV, I bent the pins on my R5 1600. That fucking sucked.
I had a little bit of money stocked away, so I went and price-matched Amazon and walked out of Best Buy with a Ryzen 7 2700X. Eventually I’ll pick up the Ryzen 3 3800X.

Did you try to straighten the pins on the 1600? You can still salvage it.
So yeah…deciding to make a new PC with AMD CPU and GPU by the end of the year.

I attempted to do so, but to no avail. The next thing is to get a replacement R5 2600 for the missus and get her PC setup.
With my new processor, I’ve pretty much been able to max out every game i’ve thrown at my PC so far. Metro Exodus on Ultra settings @ 60fps, Shadow of the Tomb Raider @ 60fps maxed out. All of my games save for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey have hit 60fps or over.

Great price, but I might suggest a Sabrent for ~$14 more as you will get up to 3000Mb/s (as opposed to capping out around 1000Mb/s with the Intel.)

A sequel to the Myst franchise:
15% on Intel processors is nowhere near enough. It should be at least 25% in order to even have a chance at keeping some market share. Intel knew they fucked up, and they’re gonna pay dearly for it by losing a lot of long time people to Ryzen 3rd gen.

Intel probably not sweating it as they still dominate the laptop and server markets. They won’t feel threaten unless Ryzen starts eating that market share as well.
