The PC Gaming Thread Phase II, The Masters of Gaming. No console peasants

Good man.

I only bought one game from the Steam Summer Saleā€¦and Iā€™m okay with that.

I didnā€™t buy anything. I really need to start chipping away at my backlog.

Is that the 8-bit styled game?

I got the first one free somehow (could be from the Mighty No 9 Kickstarter BS), didnt care for it.

Age of Wonders 3 is free on Steam until the 15thā€¦

Embed didnā€™t work.

Not sure why Steam Embeds do not work for meā€¦

I brought myself a Wi-Fi 6 router for prime day. I been in need of a router for a long ass time.

Oh GOG is awesome, they in terms of customer service are a threat to Steam.
And every online game store should take note how GOG do things.

The Customers is always First and always the priority above anything else.

minus the fee that I incurred from using the prepaid card I got from the donation center, it went really well.

If you like shooters and RPGs on PC, this is going on all week until Sunday. Iā€™ll be on-site at Quakecon on Saturday, so if you want any Bethsoft questions answered; lemme know.

So I bought a pre-built comp. It came with an I7, a 1TB hdd & 16 gigs of ram. One day I decided to add a ssd for my operating system. I opened it up to discover that there was no room forā€¦well anything and the motherboard is basic as fuck. I made it fit though. The ssd is chilling in its own little corner. Nothingā€™s blown up. Yet.

I figure I might as well upgrade so Iā€™ll need a new case, motherboard & power supply at least. Crossing my fingers that I can use the same ram so I can save a 100+ bucks. I was hoping I can get some help and suggestions from anyone whoā€™s built their own desktop which parts you used. Iā€™m really hoping I can get some recommendations on a motherboard. Iā€™m looking for a one that can support at least a 3 storage drives (ssd/hdd) and a cd/dvd drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Take a look at what Ram in there and what gen i7, as the sockets are known to change.

Do you know what model Pre-built you got?
That can help looking up specs for it.

As for the Case, the CD/DVD drive would be tricky as fewer and fewer cases are made with a 5.25" drive bay for a CD/DVD drive. Internal storage for drives are easy, some got dedicated spots for a SSD.

According to DirectX Diag. Tool my specs are:

System Model: HP Pavilion Desktop PC 570-p0xx
Processor: Intel i7-7700 3.6 ghz (8 Cpus)

According to this site

https://www.novatech.co.uk/products/intel-core-i7-7700-7th-gen-3-6ghz-kaby-lake-processorcpu-retail/bx80677i77700.html

My chip is 7th gen. Did some googling for compatible boards. This looks like a good one. I think.

Wait, hold on. A few reviews said the board was D.O.A./used. Gotdamn.

Iā€™d hate to have to not use a functioning disk drive but oh well. I think I have a blu ray player around here somewhere.
