Speaking of Rufus, to the Rufus I played last night, I don’t know how you feel about taking advice from the loser, but someone with less terrible excecution can OS those divekicks (and make it safe on your block in Sakura’s case, something I had trouble with) and you’ll need to mix up your pressure game some.
Also, how does Sakura not get plowed by Zangief? Because that didn’t go so hot for me yesterday.

How’s it going guys? My name is Stan and I’m from Richmond, Virginia. My friends and I are spending this week in Orlando for vacation. Aside from theme parks and other local attractions, we’re probably going to have a lot of down time and was wondering if there might be any regular/weekly SSF4 gatherings around your area that we may attend. We are staying at a Sheraton Vistana Villages??, and we brought a 360 set up with us. Once we check the place out, we might even be able to host. I will touch base with you once I get more information. Much thanks.
Sorry for leaving before the finals, everyone. I was getting tired from lack of sleep (I didn’t go to Jebailey’s on Friday specifically to GET extra sleep, but that didn’t really pan out) and to be frank, my sodium levels were rising rapidly listening to John talk shit like “I don’t respect ANY Bison players”. I’m sorry, but I can’t help but take that kind of blanket shit personally.
My character may be bullshit, but let me make this one thing clear, I’m NOT. I like my character. I’m proud of my character. I work hard to play him to his full depth, however shallow that may be. And in a game like SSF4, where half the time the only difference between godlike execution and a lucky guess with a glowing bar is an inexplicably large 4-frame buffer, I don’t think I’m missing any particularly deeper insight into the game by framing my experience purely in terms of Bison’s low-ass execution barrier. I play the game mostly just to develop a competitive attitude and strategic/tactical fundamentals, and that’s enough for me.
If you’re dying to see me WORK to play a character, I’ll gladly boot up CvS2, or HDR, or KOF, or Vampire Savior, or hell, even BlazBlue. We can go all goddamned night and I won’t argue with the results. But in SSF4 I have nothing to prove except that I like Bison and I want to win with Bison…even against goddamned Guile.
Sorry for the rant, but shit was bothering me. I had to get that off my chest. Good games anyway to everybody who turned out.
Good shit to Jebailey for sending me to losers round one. Thankfully, I got to redeem myself in the Balrog mirror later in the day against Carlos? Martinez. Too bad I didn’t know the Rufus matchup. Fun event as always just wish I had more matchup experience in general.
Glad everybody had a good time, really pained me to have to miss the event. And with the turnout, looks like a Random Select tourney would have kept you guys there til past midnight :lol:

I’m down this weekend Torrin. I don’t have any sticks though :(. I get back in town Fri. so anytime after that you can come to my place or I’ll hop over there. Either/or. If anyone else wants to ahve a 3S session the let me know. I haven’t played in like 3 weeks though. ugh. I feel dirty.
Isaias, are you available Sunday? I will probably be at AFO on Saturday, but if you can do Sunday then I’ll come through. I’ve never played the game seriously, but I’ll gladly make an effort to learn it (if I can fit it in between SSF4/BBCS practice).
I used to play Hugo back in the day, but since I can’t consistently parry -> 360, I think I should probably hang that up. I was thinking about switching to Elena or Chun instead because they seem more poke-intensive to me. Thought about Ken, too, but I always fuck up kara SRK, so that’s right out.
