Crazy ass shit.

Makes me happy that old technology is so easily manipulated. I’d kill for that Star Ocean. The **pinnacle **of SNES graphics.

So one of my best friends works at a video game store that specializes in all games back to Ataris and Colecovisions. I come in today to visit and what do I see…

That son of a bitch has hook ups for the fan made games. He can get Star Ocean and Terranigma as well.
Also notice the fan made Mother 1 aka Earthbound for NES.

Time to save up some monies now…

Chrono trigger anyone? I recently just dug out my snes and have been neglecting my next gen consoles for this fine piece of machinery. It’s kind of depressing with all these tools that devs have now no one has been able to really able to replicate what we felt as kids growing up playing these games. Ah well back to metriod.

I agree, the fighting/battle system in Xenogears is dope. I don’t think I unlocked all of the deathblows before so I’m having fun doing it this time around. It’s weird how my tastes have changed over the years, too. I remember Bart not being one of my favorite characters back then, it was mainly Fei and ID, but now I find Bart to be the most interesting or likable of 'em all. Yeah, I tried getting into Xenosaga myself but it just didn’t happen.

Played Earthworm Jim last night on my Genesis. Game is still amazing…and much better then the XBLA remake.

My gf never played Chrono Trigger, so she got it for her Wii… thumbs up.

Vectorman…

I’m just going to stay optimistic and say that every other generation is AWESOME in comparison to the previous, so we’re due for a really great time with the upcoming next gen consoles. If my secondary theory wherein every 4th wave is always a super-duper mega awesome leap in greatness by comparison to the last, then yeah. We’re in for some good stuff.

Seiken Densetsu 3 is half of what makes having a Thunderbolt worthwhile.

And Super Metroid is at least a third of the Wii’s net merit.

And I have come to absolutely love the Wii.

For some reason, I’ve never played Romancing Saga 3. I’ll work on that maybe in the near future.

I’m just about done with my second playthrough of Xenogears. I’ve been playing it in doses 'cause it’s a lot harder getting through that slow moving text now than back in the day. And maaan, I’d forgotten how long the first disc was compared to the second.

What second disk?

All I remember after the first disk was expository writing and a boss battle.

The NES to the Genesis/SNES days were the golden age for me. Ducktales, TMNT3, Super Mario RPG, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (Beat those shits on a real nes without save states, then you can call yourself a hardcore gamer) Earthworm Jim, Super Star Wars, Yoshis Island, Xmen, Sonic, ect.

Those were the days, could play those games forever.

Those who would witness greatness will understand this message. Those who have not, should play that game.

Aw man…NOW I feel old. Not bad, just old. I gotta work on the long grey beard and cool robes and hat.

Back in 2005/2006, my best friend & I amassed a decent amount of systems. We had:

  1. NES
  2. SNES
  3. Sega Genesis (Model 1)
  4. Panasonic 3DO
  5. Sega Dreamcast
  6. PS1
  7. PS2
  8. Sega Saturn
  9. Nintendo Gamecube
    10 Atari 2600

This was when we lived together. After I moved, neither one of us got a current gen system until 2008. Well, he may have gotten a Wii in 2007, but I don’t remember.

Our plan was to try to get a Master System, Atari Jaguar, and Neo Geo, but then I had to move.

Love my 360, but there’s something about those retros.

I still own (but all but my 360 is in storage in the states) a PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, Dreamcast, and SNES. Only reason they’re not here is I didn’t want to deal with PAL and voltage conversion.

Lately I’ve been playing old adventure games and having a blast. Something about this genre is so good and it’s very under appreciated. I recently just beat Beneath a Steel Sky and currently I’m playing The Dig. I also have Full Throttle, Broken Sword and Loom lined up in my game cue. How come nobody ever talks about these games? Sam and Max Hit the Road? Monkey Island? Gabriel Knight? All great games.

Seriously I have not touched a FG in two weeks that’s how satisfying the gameplay is.

highlander the animated series now available on streaming is giving me the itch to go play through the jaguar cd game again

Wonderboy in Monster World.

The only reason I still have my Genesis…this game is timeless. Kind of a hack-and-slash, side-view RPG, but with amazing depth. Old-school gamers should now what I’m talking about, this game is virtual heroine.

i miss dreamcast :frowning:

How about a real man’s game:
