Yes definitely. If you had ANY hand in that guide you get a HUGE thank you from me. Its work like the guide that can make a community and its much appreciated. You gave use the tools, and now we put in the work.
FYI I just found out Macho Man has one more Signature move.
I guess a bounce off ropes QS+QG gives you a sig move style Spine Buster.
Also, if you get a launch with Macho Man, it appears you can do at least 2 QSx5 punch rushes. I was thinking this could be an infinite, but the positioning seems really really hard to maintain.
Thanks for doing these write ups Orochi_Negro. Really appreciate it, I know it must take quite a bit of time to get them done
Yeah, I wrote the guide. As far as I know, the two DLC character strats will be available in PDF form. It will probably be the only way they’re available.
When I first heard I’d be working on the guide, I figured it would be similar to SvR. But when I started playing through the game, I realized it was much deeper. My fighting game background really helped with some of the strats. Even the dev team was surprised I broke down the combos as much as I did.
Unfortunately, DiBiase and DiBiase Jr. are the only DLC characters that are being covered. We originally wanted them in the print version of the guide, but time constraints prevented that. I’m glad we at least got some of the DLC covered. In most cases, we can’t do any DLC.
I was limited by time and a few other things, but I tried to get as in-depth as I could with the game. If there’s a sequel to All Stars, I’m hoping I can get frame data included next time.
As far as I know it should be available when the characters become available. I believe that’s on the 19th, but the date could’ve changed.
OK this website is officially pissing me off. Went to my Bret guide to note what signature gives his cinematic finisher and it erased ALL of my work but the beginning of it. So once I get back from physical therapy I will be writing it up for the THIRD time.
So, can you just not counter finishers and signiture moves when your finisher is stocked?
Generally, if somebody wants to meaty signature, LB+RB counters that shit, but when you have finisher stocked, your character goes into his powerup animation then proceeds to be thrown 30 feet or so in the air.
Is there any way to counter with the finisher meter at full?
oh is LB+RB the way to counter those? I was just trying to hit LB. It seems like I’ve read about four different theories about what to press to reversal different moves in different situations… can someone break it down for me? Last night I was messing around and it seemed like you can reverse any grab with RB or LB interchangeably but “reversal block” (preemptively blocking their reversal) only works with RB. Is this true? And what’s the official deal with reversing signatures and finishers? It seems like my Sharpshooter is getting reversed a lot online
Far as I’m aware, all finishers and signatures are reversable with LB+RB, unless you were in flashing red life and had knockdown with red and grey stun when they activated their finisher, because that’s an automatic hit.
I’ve even seen people lift their knees up on turnbuckle finishers (so long as they didn’t store the finisher when they were flashing red life and red and grey knockdown). Can’t get the timing on that one, but I’d immagine that’s be LB+RB as well as they come down.
My friend found what you’re talking about, reversing chain throws with either shoulder button, but I don’t think you can reverse the initial collar and elbow tieup with RB.
Additionally, but take this one with buckets of salt, as I haven’t had any time to play with this idea and it may have just been a fluke with my friend’s lousy inputs, it’s also entirely possible that you can negative edge reversals from blocking. It looked like my friend was blocking a string of strikes and let go of the block button durring the next strike’s counter window, and he got a counter. That’s what it looked like. Can’t confirm this one from my Diff Eq class, but I’ll be giving this a second look when I get home.
I wouldn’t be surprised about the negative edge reversing. Although it’s more of a flukey thing since I’ve heard that reversals have a 2 second cooldown, which wouldn’t make a negative edge have any advantage, since pressing it twice in quick succession does nothing.
Yah, if someone hits you with a move that gives a long KND and does their instant finisher, match is over. As in if you see that camera cut to the attacker, its done. And im finding that each character has a signature that leads directly into a finisher. UNLESS (and I havent seen this happen yet) you can counter the finisher while dizzy. I have seen some people press buttons and something start to happen in my grab animation. Im going back through my write-ups and noting it.
EDIT: Currently working on John Morrison, Cena (at my personal disgust btw) and DX (yes both of them).
I think reversal blockers are going to become a huge part of playing a high-level offensive game. You’ll notice Alex Valle was already punching those in with some consistency in the video. Is it true those reduce the reversal window by half? so reversals effectively become about a 4 frame window?
Yah ive been using reversal blockers since day 1. Heres what I do with Miz
I play footsies and space with his QS (long range thigh kick), if that lands I get a TRUE string with
QS>HS[TRUE]>HG[TRUE]>different buttons do different things (I noted these in my Miz write up)
But I know that the HG has an easy reversal, the throw itself is a leg trip takedown. The reversal for it is a DDT, so when I do the combo I go ahead and input the HG and then the LB as my own reversal blocker. I get the crossed out reversal marker almost 90% of the time, if I dont the reversal window for the actual DDT is easy. Plus it gives me a KB so I can be in perfect range for QS shenanigans again. Once I condition the opponent to start trying to reverse the link, what I do is I stop putting in the HG and watch them do a whiffed reversal and I go for a QG(WLK) or signature or start the link over again.
Thats what I meant by knowing the reversals to your own moves so you can visually know when you should input your own blockers. The amount of depth in this game is ridiculous. I really want others to see it too.
