Yup. Like I said, fight somebody like Orton, and you better pray you’ve got counters mastered. On that note, I can just feel my opponents start to rage after I counter like 5 or 6 grapples in a row. I’ve seen so many people just give up and try taking on the other dude. I’m amazed at how little ring sense some people have. I’ve walked right up to people and they dont even notice you.
And yeah, pinning outside during a grapple, is a dirty trick, that I love.
I saw Big Show in action finally. DEFINITELY wanna give him a try lol. I annoyed the shit out of the one I fought by just exiting and running to the other side of the ring and taunting a fuck ton. Then fuck him up with chair shots and dirty tricks. Hard as shit to not get grapples countered though
I am hopping on now, if any of our Raw superstars on the 360 are up for some 'rassling. Tag team, elimination, singles, whatever.
Drew is pretty well rounded. Hes a brawler class but he has a few chain grabs (something normally reserved for grappler class), hes got a slew of TRUE combos and his charged HS gives JUG.
I mean, nothing about him stands out and screams AWESOME (Miz pun intended) but he can be a legitimate threat if you sleep on him.
EDIT: BTW if you havent seen it, Sheamus is done. Just scroll up.
What do you mean about Mr. Perfect’s range game? As a grappler, doesn’t his ability to shoot into a strong grapple count as a pretty excellent footsies tool? Or are you refering specifically to his ability to poke with strikes?
And let me break it down easy for you, shooting into a HG(SLK) doesnt scare me or really matter for all intensive purposes. Because none of his chain grabs come off of it. He HAS to land a QG(WLK) to get damage off his chain grabs. He has no reliable way to do that. Yeah, his combos into are guaranteed but all of his strikes are so short range that it doesnt matter. Then even a shoot grapple can be poked out and knocked back by combos. I see Mr. Perfect shoot for a strong grapple and im gonna use a long range QS into a KB, (since I use Miz) specifically im gonna use QS>QS[TRUE]>QSTRUE. Thus pushing him back out of range and keeping him in mine.
Even if he lands a HG the only thing he can transition into to get a chain grab is into RWLK, which gives you 2 chances to counter.
Long story short…Mr. Perfect has NO easy way to get you into the position that he needs you in.
it seems i am lucky if i ever get a win in this game…i can always bring on the offensive assault with sheamus but then they start making a comeback and defeat me in the end
I second this, and add an addendum: Why do sometimes they go in the turnbuckle, and other times they go chest first as if attacked?
Is it the grapple strength causing it? The proximity to the turnbuckle/ropes?
Also, I can never get a sense of direction when I Irish Whip. It always feels like it throws them in a direction I suggest instead of a direction I want them. As if I’m using an Xbox 360 directional pad or something. Do I select the direction on the analog stick in relation to the ring? or in relation to the direction my wrestler is facing?
Also, I’m having trouble getting used to the attack/grapple strings. How can you tell what is a true combo or not?
Sorry for all the questions, but this is having me get confused easily and just makes me feel I’m mashing buttons.
Ask away, I dont mind answering ANY questions you may have. I want people to enjoy this game and take it serious so the information is important. With that said.
(WLK)>irish whip into ropes makes them come back to you
(WLK)>irish whip into turnbuckle causes walk out STN
(SLK)>irish whip into ropes causes them to go outside
(SLK)>irish whip into turnbuckle gives SLM
SLM>QSorHS does strikes
SLM>QGorHG does a turnbuckle attack (middle rope punches, head to turnbuckle, etc) with some characters HG transitions into tree of woe. (TOW)
Where you irish whip them is based on the stick. For example no matter where you are in the ring if you press in the direction of the turnbuckles (on a numpad that would be 7 9 1 or 3) your wrestler will attempt to throw them in that direction. But based upon where YOU are in the ring they may hit the ropes first. So its a matter of using common sense to determine which turnbuckle it makes more sense to go towards.
As far as [TRUE] combos. Im sorry im not getting all the characters done fast enough so everyone can experiment with their favorites, but for recognition purposes look at the ones I have completed, pick one of them and go into a match. Look at all the combos/chains I have written then use a [TRUE] chain. See how once the first hit connects, the rest is GUARANTEED? Now pick one that isnt [TRUE], see how it can either be blocked or reversed MID combo? Theres your difference. The only tip I can give is to take your time with your button presses and learn to visually recognize what each attack in your combo/chain looks like. If you just mash on the buttons youre always gonna be doing random stuff. This game is just like any other fighting game, execution is a big deal.
Anybody else get a problem loading characters from time to time?
I’ll pick a character some times, and it just sits at “Generating Character” for evers
I REALLY do not like how they handle matchmaking in this game though
the tiniest bit of lag makes this game completely unplayable, sadly. Can’t counter punches or grapples? Then you are FUCKED. Just fought a match against Hogan where I couldn’t do fuck all. I got maybe one grapple in, during a mash fest.
It would be nice if THQ updated with an Install option for the next patch. Watching the the WWE loading logo spinning while the screen freezes for a few seconds kind of gets tiring.
#fail I swore I’ve tried to irish whip with a weak lock up and I’ve never been able to throw shit. But thanks for the reply! Another question, which character off the top of your head has a lot of easy juggle set ups?
