The "Official" Street Fighter 4 PC Thread (read first post)

Why, oh why do people have to ragequit?

Had the following two punks drop because they couldn’t handle my Sagat:

l337 Tim (Dropped first round, right as I KOed him, no response when I asked what happened; only took ~10% damage)
HappyLALA (worked hard Round 1, dropped with 5% health R2; classic ragequit)

Yes, images will be going to the BLWoS.

Can anybody answer these two question?

Sorry if I posted in the wrong section, btw.

You can only upload a replay of a championship final that you’ve won (it’ll ask you after you win it if you want to upload) and only the top 1000(?) CP players can do it iirc.

You’re probably better off looking into an app called ‘fraps’ which will record video from your screen. It has a small performance impact while it’s running though.

You cannot play 2 player on the same keyboard normally through the game. I have vague memories of seeing a post somewhere by some dude who’d used another app to map keys from the keyboard so that the computer thought it was coming from a controller - sorry I can’t remember any more details than that…

I’ve seen only one ragequit in 1,5 weeks i’ve been playing. Though,i’m playing only Championship mode and Player matches, because i know better and avoid still broken Ranked matches.

I know I’m late to the party, but I have to say that considering all the negative feedback I’ve read about the netcode, it was a really pleasant surprise to see how good it actually is. I mean, it’s no GGPO, but I’ve only had one match with noticeable input lag and it was just because I was new and didn’t pay attention to the guy’s bars when he joined the room, all the 4 and 5 bar matches (all I play) were great.

Interface still kinda sucks though.

Here’s the thread I was thinking of about how to play with 2 players on the same keyboard: http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/18347559/SFIV_PC__2_players_on_keyboard

PPjoy seems to be the way to go …

@datniceguy

Yeah, I figured as much, but pretty impressive you’re running it on 512mb.

I say that, because It amazes me (as proven here) that video ram, is useless! When I bench this, SFIV uses a total of 100mb of my graphics ram. I am pretty ignorant when it comes to Graphics cards, so for those of you blasting the card I bought, I should have came here first. However, I’m stuck with this for now.

With the resolution turned god awful low, I’m running it 60fps with everything turned up high, but 800x600 is terrible.

The Nvidia drivers were as useful as a bible to a whore. Really, the only way I got any sort of progress, was going backwards to old drivers. Powerstrip is neat, but again, I’m a rookie when it comes to graphics nonsense, so it was all greek to me.

It’s been far too much of a hassle, trying to perfect it buying Ram and Graphics cards ect. I’m going to stick to SF on PC.

I just wish Capcom would patch in demo recording for this game. It really needs it!

Also, I wish it had cross platform play with the 360 version. With FPS games I can see why Microsoft wouldn’t want to do cross platform play (mouse + keyboard = PC gamers win every time) but with fighting games nobody is playing on the keyboard…they’re either using a stick or a gamepad. If any game were to have cross platform play this would be the one.

Anyway, if anyone is up for some matches my GFWL ID is nqFuLLBLeeD and my Steam ID is nosxinsanity. I am very new to fighting games (SF4 is basically my first one) and could use all the practice I can get.

If GGPO is so good, why can’t we play any of these good games on it?

We can’t simply use our own netcode and servers…at least not yet. Maybe someone will figure it out.

well netcode aint a big problem on pc so far its pretty stable the only thing I notice vs console is the input lag sometime I hit kick and it just never come out … nyway it feel weird vs the ps3

I got a question about the animation lagging. The game runs perfectly fine but the animation at the beginning of the game and also during the arcade mode lags like crazy. Anyone know a reason for this?

I get this too. It’s either an engine or driver problem.

Definitely a driver problem. I never get that.

Sounds like you don’t have your framerate set to FIXED.

SF4 is also more or less my first Street Fighter, expect a friend request from Mikerrrrr if I remember to add you or you could always add me

It is on fixed. I’m talking about the cartoon animations.

I’ll try updating my drivers.

I added you, look forward to playing.

e: I misread the above post. Actually I don’t get lag during the animation but sometimes my framerate drops a lot int he arcade character select screen and first match…I think this is an engine problem because my drivers are up to date. Maybe I’ll try verifying the game cache in Steam and defragging, couldn’t hurt. Does anyone else get this problem.

I think that’s just the native frame rate of the animation.

so how many players are online?

is the game popular?

i’m now in south-east asia… i wonder if I’d find any good pings. =/
