Took a week or two on the 360/PS3 as well.
They’re definitely different in terms of player populations. I’m sure it will change over time, but G2 is (at least in my experience) pretty much shoto-free right now. Lots of charge characters.
Wonder if there is a bunch of people using Keyboards so they go charge character since it’s easier or something.
Hey Stellumz, we’ve played a few times. I play the SFII Green Blanka. Always GG’s with you dude.
GG’s tonight Scottemad and to everyone else I ran into tonight as well.
played a few G2 games today, seems like more people are moving in slowly, think i played stellumz and scottemad GG’s, anyone else i played GG’s
For those on the retail version who want to use Steam chat, you still can if you just add sfiv as a non-steam game.
I’ve also found another interesting titbit: I must have plugged my SE stick into a different USB port last night because the old “installing new hardware” balloon popped up. The intersting part is that suddenly my stick works with the GFWL menu, including pressing the guide button to open the menu! Clearly, if you install your pad/stick before you install GFWL or Street Fighter it won’t work, but if you install it subsequently it does.
Hehe, I am but I have always liked charge characters
All moves are easy on keyboard now though, thanks to the lenient input in sf4
Hmm seems like the G2 players are getting better, also seems like all the connection and lag are getting worse.
Our connection seemed weird a little while ago.
You may want to play around with the LOCK/UNLOCK toggle near the turbo buttons, the guide menu button won’t work if you have that set to locked (atleast for me it doesn’t appear to)
how many games do u guys usually see on PC online play?
like when u quickmatch a ranked game or championship mode
i never see more than 3 after 1 search, is that normal or do i need to open/forward some ports or smthing?
Are you doing quick match or custom search? Quick match will only show 3 no matter what. It’s possible your filters just aren’t picking up more than a few games too.
You should read this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937424
Port forwarding must be enabled on the UDP ports 80 & 3074.
He doesn’t need to open/forward ports to show more that 3 games, all he has to do is go to Custom Match instead of Quick Match. As Jodo said quick match only shows 3 no matter what, but if you go to custom it will show more.
i usually just set everything to ANY and then choose from the list, but be careful and look at the rounds/time people set.
really? quick match doesn’t show more than 3? no wonder
is that the same for PC and PS3?
woooo made g2 a couple days ago, unfortuantely didnt have time to play cuz of work
Yup, 360 as well.
Ug, I understand that 2 bar matches aren’t ideal, but when there is only like 3 people on right now, I think people need to stop being so damn picky.
Just create your own lobby when there is no one to play other then 2 bar peeps. Helps me all the time.
That wasn’t the problem. A lot of people (myself included) simply couldn’t navigate the GFWL menu system at all with the pad/stick - no guide button, no moving around in the menus, nothing. Yet other people claimed that it works absolutely fine for them. I think I’ve cleared up why that might be; people who have installed and used their controller before installing SFIV/GFWL will find that it doesn’t work for them. (If my theory is correct.) The simplest way to find out is to use another USB port you haven’t used before, or if possible, uninstall the drivers for the pad (not sure if this can be done on vista or win7, but should be possible to at least remove the device as listed in the device manager which should be enough.)
