thats because you aren’t experienced enough… get better and you will never lose to them, that happened to me when i first started sf4
that’s not true…you got lag online, so a jump-in shoto can hit you even if you for example press standing f.kick with sagat. i somtimes even get knocked down on wake-up WHILE BLOCKING. capcom really needs to fix online, “easy-input”, char balancing.
I agree with grimtooth, though i main Ryu I don’t really like fighting other shotos who appear to not really have a clue what their doing but through lag can land alot of hits that are questionable, i’m no newbie to street fighter and im my opinion it’s something that experience doesnt account for.
It’s especially annoying in “slow motion” matches where they’re probably playing on a POS PC or playing with variable frame rate (usually Kens strangely :P)
The problem I have playing against the so called shoto scrubs is, I think “they’re not dumb enough to try that again…” and of course they do it (usually random SRK) again and I get wrecked.
It’s my fault of course, but it feels like you have to dumb down your game against them which can be hard to do when you’re trying to learn to use a character to their fullest (which I do a lot since I still haven’t settled on a main)
Playing against a shoto scrub is like combo practice… try to bait SRKs then punish with your combo of choice. Not fun.
Anyone else not seeing any 3 bars or higher? I live in Florida, it is not like I am far from civilization. I have no problem with connection in other games, but I can’t find any good connection matches in SF4. I need to see if there is something on my side that causes the bad connections.
I also can’t seem to find many matches in Championship mode. If I am at the finals I usually just randomly check every 15 minutes or so and hope there is someone there. I am still in G3 so I think there should be more players.
Oh well, I guess I will stick more to just training mode and such. Got to keep practicing the RSF Loop until it becomes second nature. I just wish I could practice against human opponents without having to suffer from lag.
are you hosting lobbies or joinng them? When i try and join I never find any good connections, but when I host, every other joiner seems to be 4 or 5 bar. so it can be easier that way

It doesn’t take long for someone to join my lobby when I start it and it’s usually someone with a decent connection. I’m guessing most people out there are looking for games instead of starting them.

At first I kept getting corrupt save data, but I found that it worked if I first created an offline account, unlocked everything, saved, and THEN hooked it up to an online account.

I find that anything under 4 bars are completely unplayable. I live in Sweden, maby thats it or maby im just being picky.

Well,its playable,but you won’t get much fun out of it.
Strangely enough,i rarely see 2 bar or less matches(only with Koreans,whom i don’t count). Already have a friendlist full of 4-5 bar good fighters.
question… i noticed that after you install sfiv on your pc, they create a folder where your sfiv save file is (its a .bat file) with all your data.
my question is, if my friend has unlocked all characters and stuff, maybe some colors and whatever, if he send me this .bat file and i replace it with mine (where i havent unlocked any chars) will i get his data and all the stuff he has unlocked? 8)

yes, you can use other savedata to unlock characters, but some people are complaining it will “corrupt” the save data, so you have to unlock it yourself sooner or later.
just try it out.
I believe it’s a no. There wasn’t much of success with replacing and adapting savefiles for GFWL to recognise them. Though there was a lot of success regarding usage of a trainer for that exact cause(unlocking colors,taunts etc)
I made it into G2 a few days ago, and ze nenex destroys my Rufus for free every time I play him. On the bright side, all the ragequitters and players with weird framerates seem to either stick to Ranked games or be stuck in G3 championships.
