Looks like it only works in 1p mode. Maybe its cause I tabbed out… Ok I got it to work but ffs this thing slows my machine up like crazy.
yeah online play is now not very good actually… at 10 pm est in nyc i got like 2 games without awful input lag tonight. really sucks. please unlock xbox360 crossplay.
At the moment apparently I am the only person in the world that is at the G2 semi-final battle. :\
edit: omg i found one half a world away.
3 bars + for me and it feels almost like a lan/vs match, but I do suspect some people intentionally hit something that causes their framerate to lag (having it set to default variable framerate) which in turn causes me to lag =\
Dunno if this has been mentioned already, but as with the benchmark, I’m getting nothing but black screen after the logo and intro. Anyone else has this problem?
Here are my specs:
Windows XP SP3
Pentium 4 HT @ 3.2 GHz
256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X800
1 GB DDR2 SDRAM
…Do you think its the video card? This is a circa-2005 laptop after all. I’ve heard rumblings about switching off anti-aliasing, but I’m not able to do that with this card, only switch it to its lowest level (2X). Man, and I was hoping this was just a problem with the benchmark…what’s the desktop equivalent of this card? I’d like to know if it even reaches the minimum requirements…
i think your card only supportes shader 2.0 and you need 3.0
im playing with a x1700 on my laptop and i can’t turn anything up.
I just checked:
Vertex Shaders 6 (v2.0)
Pixel Shaders 12 (v2.0)
So yeah, guess it only supports 2.0…$#%@%@!
Thanks…
GG’s FuriousJodo, your fuerte is scary. and those random matches were funny. i ate FA’s like a nub, must be tired. and i had no idea what i was doing with gouken lol.
Heh, yeah I didn’t feel like just using Fuerte the entire time so I figured I’d mess around a bit. I was a little annoyed when I got Ken twice (I don’t use shotos at all really), though Seth was kind of fun. ggz - I might turn it back on in a while, though I think I am done for the night.
The PC game is only out for a week or less, so give it some time and it will get busy.
Yeah, I’m not too concerned, I’ve still been able to find games at all hours of the night.
Sigh, I am really frustrated at the horrible online component. Do people have certain people they can NEVER play against? My friend recently got the game on Steam, while I have a boxed retail version and everytime he invites me to a game or vice versa, we simply “Cannot participate in this session”. We’ve tried every other single way; trying to find each other via Arcade request, sending invites through custom matches - nothing works and yet we can verse other people completely fine?
I’m pretty sure Steam players can vs retail players? It’s completely frustrating, anyone else experiencing this?
i’ve played steam players before… i have the retail copy.
the only problem i have is with xbox360 people
this sucks, most of my friends are on the xbox version!!
if anyone wants to spar with me, add me: djshakez
I’ve noticed it also occurs for me against other retail players, it just for whatever reason can never play certain players.
No matter where you buy SF4 PC from, it’s exactly the same game, minus or plus DRM. You use GFWL for matchmaking on the same servers with the same copy of the game with the same code. Why are people continuing to advance this retarded myth?
I didn’t say you couldn’t dude, chill. I’m just unable to play with a friend who has the Steam version despite countless attempts over the course of many days.
Shitty netcode, problems between his and your ISP or his or your PC, any number of glitches or issues. I can go on and on here. Blaming it on Steam is ignorance. Maybe Capcom will patch it up (haha no) or problems will naturally disappear. This port is brand new, ya know.
The reason you can’t play with your friend is probably routers/firewalls/closed ports on either or both of your sides.
It’s like that in a lot of games where there’s no server inbetween, but straight p2p. Like 2DF, I have friends I can’t fight there because neither of us are allowed to host a game because of routers (or whatever).
And in ZSNES I had to run it on special ports because this connection only has a few open, it’s kinda a special case.
Okay, I’ve found out what the cause is thanks to some helpful people at some other forums. If you experience these constant errors, “Unable to participate in session” with a particular user, you’re going to have to forward 3074 both UDP and TCP. Should be good after that.
Maybe it’s just me, but I find myself beating up people that are clearly decent/good at the game, yet losing to most j. HK, c. HK spamming shoto noobs.
