Speaking of ranked matches, I ran into a 2000 BP Blanka who did nothing but sit and mash electricity in my face.
Both rounds were pretty close, but I just used the opportunity to test which normals of Honda’s will beat the move clean at which ranges. Apparently Honda can’t just blow through it clean with ultra.
i concur on the blanka comment, but for the most part from my experience there has been a lot of people who probably don’t know how to refresh the “quick game” page and i have spent like 5 minutes kicking people w/ 3 bars…often times a 4 bar goes to a 2 bar for me. today, there was a bunch of brazilian players (had BR in their name, w/ 3-4 bars) but thats pretty typical of them to join US games and expect good ping/throughput. i only play 5 bar connection, so i can’t really say how well other fights go, i don’t have ADD and can sit there patiently waiting. on a side note, before you “ready” up, do wait for 1 minute to see the bars stabilize. i don’t know the exact architecture of GFWL if its 100% proxy or it hands off the connection to the two players while it handles the commands to the server but it does usually show what the connection between two players is more accurately if you wait a moment for ping to stabilize.
Since I got this game for PC I had the following problem: every round in a match the game lagged heavily for a couple of seconds - often at the end of a round which made some opponents suspicious…
Thanks to the Blanka-player machomanmo I found the cause of this problem (after wasting endless hours on the web and installing an - for me - worthless “AMD dual core optimizer” or running SF4 on only one core):
it’s Vista’s WLAN autoconfig-service. It polls every 60 seconds for new WLAN devices which causes online games to crawl a couple of seconds when it does that.
Unfortunately deactivating that service also shuts down my WLAN connection.
The solution was the tool “Background Scan Disabler” (VBGScan) by some hobby programmer. Just start it and Vista won’t poll anymore. No more slowdowns for me!
And how do you refresh the custom match then? It’s annoying to look for a game, go in and then says the game is already full, then I have to search again which takes 10seconds atleast.
And a lot of Sagats when I played just now. So annoying, I get a few good hits in, that I worked my ass off to get in, but then they get one random kick and bam where equal life again. Still, feels good when you take them down. And they’re real easy to anti-air with Saks c.HP, feels good too.
How many GP does it take to reach G2? And what is CP anyway?
Hey:
I’m no dummy, but I can’t seem to figure out how to sign in properly.
I created an offline ID, first.
Then, I went to “Join Live”.
It opened a window where I signed up for a gamertag. Ok.
The window behind it asked for a LIVE ID; I didn’t have one, so I signed up for one. Fine.
After all that, I attempt to log in with the newly created Live ID and get this message:
“The profile could not be signed into live. There may be a network problem or the Windows Live ID service may not be available.”
Anybody know what the deal is?
By the way, I purchased through Impulsedriven.com, if that means anything.
I played a match against djWHEAT in championship mode. I was liek holy crap it’s djWHEAT! I sent him a msg afterwards. I said I love him. I think he blocked me cause he went offline shortly after that. I guess I freaked him out
I put it on fixed frame rate and the game is running WAYYYY to fast i play offline all the time but it’s like i’m running super turbo on speed 4 rather than SFIV O.o
Edit: does anyone know how to fix this?
You can search again by hitting a button (can’t remember which - it’s square on my PS3 stick). It’ll tell you at the bottom of the screen which button does what. You can only do it from the screen that list the search results, not once you’ve gone into someone’s lobby.
now that’s awesome, for YOU.
but i don’t live in south kakalaki, i hardly find any good connections (3 bars is a dream), and when i find somebody i just vaporize them because they havnt figured out how to block low…
and i got 16mbit, which should be enough for an ok connection.
EDIT: i can play people across the ocean on ggpo, why not on a million dollar production like sf4 ?
