lol who the hell STILL plays ranked?!
lol are you kidding me? i think you have been complaining about ranked matches for the last 10 pages lol. the player base in ranked is horrible. not trying to brag but im 57ish wins to 1 loss in ranked matches. my bp has grown due to lack of people in g2 =((. Ranked = horrible players. loll no offense
1 less person. I haven’t seen a single person with more than 600bp, have they all given up too? I’m going to wait at least a month to see if it starts panning out better, but the way it is now is crap on a stick.
There’s a lot of horrible people, but there are still good ones or at least better matchups. I main Fei Long, and maybe that’s part of my frustration, but its bs to play so many good matches, have one or two go the other way, and I pay the stiff price after seeing they have like 90bp. I haven’t seen one person over 600, much less over 1000, that’s why I’m going to wait a month and hope it gets better. 10 wins erased in 1 loss is horsecrap.
yes, not enough people are there on pc i think… and there will only be less and less as time goes on. therefore capcom needs to unlock crossplay for xbox360 (after forcing framerate to fixed of course)

Just out of curiosity, how are the Euros doing with the configuration problems and the language barrier? Obviously the language barrier isn’t as big as a problem for them as it is me, but how are you guys communicating, “yo, set your shit up right?”

Overall I think the PC is the best way to play the game online. While not perfect it’s way better than playing on the 360 by a fair margin. I only play 4-5 bar games so if you can’t find any of those then I think you’re in trouble. I’ve only played about 3-4 matches where the framerate was obviously off on the opponent’s side which sucks but eventually I think everyone will pick up on the “fixed” framerate option.
One cool thing is that I played a few matches against Koreans and Japanese players with 4 bars and I’m in Portland Oregon! I would never see that on the 360. The Korean matches seem to have a lot less input lag than the Japanese matches for whatever reason though.

you still get screwed over even if YOU’RE on fixed framerate, and they aren’t?
why dont you just do custom instead of quick match for rank matchups. set it to same skill level or higher for the search and everyone that i’ve played so far with that setting were between 1000-2000bp. i only have 1500 bp atm.
anyways, i hate players who think they have the best computers and set everything on high graphic setting, and not realize that the games actually runniing half the speed, because the reality is their computers suck, and it burdens other players online with this slow mo crap. i played several matches where the game was literally going 1/4 of the actual speed. not much lag but the speed was excruciating. my computers 4 years old but runs full speed. why didn’t capcom just have “fixed” framerate as default or just set it to “fixed” for online plays. :S
I haven’t had the time to read through the whole thread and I can’t search for the specific error. However, does anyone know what causes the game to error and close? It has happened to me on a couple of occasions after winning a G2 tournament.

Sorry I haven’t heard anything specific but one time my game crashed on launch. It was just one time so far but it made me worry somewhat.
Regarding your specific error I would reboot your computer if you haven’t rebooted since installing. Maybe check all your drivers/direct X and make sure it’s up to date. And also maybe just try reinstalling the game and consider installing on a separate partition or drive to make sure it’s not some sort of corrupt storage issue.

Thanks for the advice. The error seems to occur somewhat randomly and has only happened after winning finals - it may even have to do with me hitting the home key after the win. Basically, it is akin to the PS3 error - on the leader board after the most recent error I had 2.7k GP, but on my player status it was on 2.6k.
It certainly has nothing to do with the drivers/direct X as they are all up to date.
I only play 4-5bar connections(plenty of those around) and no lag/skipping whatsoever, the only annoying things is those RUS players with variable framerate.
why the fuck are all these annoying idiots picking guile all the time and sitting on the ground or backing up constantly throwing sonic booms?

You just have to deal with those tactics. Jump in over the boom and wait. You have a couple options, if your char has overhead, attempt, then block because a massive flash kick is coming your way. If no over head, FA or FADC and bait the flash. Its tedious, but achieving victory means you send these guys back to the sewer to train with their rat sensei.
SF4 For Steam Issue
Hey everyone,
I downloaded sf4 for pc via steam. I have the game on my laptop and desktop, both copies run flawlessly. Here is my problem. When my laptop is not connected to the internet steam won’t allow me to run the steam client. Since I downloaded the game via steam I can only launch sf4 through the steam client. I click “start in offline mode” then steam says something to the extent of “dumbass you can’t do that har har har.” I already have the game for 360, I wanted it for PC so I could use my laptop at tournaments to warm up before matches (casual play stops during the tournament so you can be sitting around for 3-4 hours waiting for a match at a decent sized event, I need to stay warm if I want to not suck ass).
On a side note, I have been enjoying championship mode on PC - and playing on my desktop with jacked settings is pretty nice - but since my desktop is always connected to the internet steam is not an issue, just my laptop.
Suggestions?
if it’s incredibly laggy, and you suspectl that they’ve picked guile by the number of sounds he makes while selecting, pick sagat 
Generally true… whenever I get my ass kicked in CM and I need a win for confidence I go to ranked
I’m not very good but I’d say I win 80%+ of ranked matches
