The "Official" Street Fighter 4 PC Thread (read first post)

I haven’t come across a single Sakura - or Rose for that matter - but I’ve seen quite a few Vegas. (Mostly bad Vegas, but Vegas nonetheless.) I’ve also found my new nemesis - a small legion of decent Balrogs. They hurt. :frowning:

I would say that well over 50% of all my opponents so far have been Ryu. It’s weird, they’ve all got exactly the same playstyle – fairly heavy on the jump-ins followed by EITHER a cr.lp -> tick throw OR a cr.mk -> hadouken. Rarely do I see anything else. And the very first time I jump after they’ve got ultra, I am always hit with lp dp -> ultra. Always. It’s like I’m fighting an army of robots. Is there some kind of academy, churning them out? :open_mouth: I mean, I’ve heard of flowcharts, but it’s like they’ve actually printed one out and they stick to it.

Also, I’ve met a surprising number of fellow chuns. Always nice to see 'em, usually send or receive a message after a mirror match. :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit:

Yeah I’m pretty sure I played you a couple of times, I think you beat me both times. Good games

yeah ive played jwang too, lol seems like theres not that many peeps on pc since ive played all yall

That just sounds like someone who knows how to play Ryu. Those are his tools so get used to 'em.

You gotta break that jump in habit anyways because you should never be jumping in where there is an opportunity for any opponent to SRK you regardless of whether it’s followed by an ultra or not. Sagat is even worse because of his kick > ultra.

my favorite thing is when i get a ken or ryu who jumps in like 5 or 6 straight times on my dhalsim, what idiots hahaha
knee to the face OVER AND OVER AND OVER

i just love imagining them thinking “it HASS to work this time, he’ll forget to press the kneebutton and il get a jumping rh to low rh!!!”

o and i had the funniest match ever against an akuma (who posts here, forgot his name something with a c at the beginning)
i ultra’ed and then jmuped and he demoned into my ball of flames and killed himself, funniest thing ever
that was a good match though

I havent gotten any hate mail yet… even after saying to people that there spamming all the time… (Balrog) cause im like jap jap low roundhouse …
when my low roundhouse comes… bam! Shoryuken everytime XD

People are nice and those that ive sayd please learn new tricks… they say im sorry im so bad i only know 360s … or im only spamming sorry :stuck_out_tongue:

Ive played 100 matches 36% wins my first time playing SF and on a joystick so i think its alright

After switching from ryu to Balrog its much easyer to win for me.
After 1 day of trying balrog i desided to go some brackets and i won the G3 for my first time VS Ryu, Cammy and finaly Akuma…

Counter Ultra`ed the ryu witch was so much fun… he was like whaaaaaaaaaaat!?
hahaha i feelt so good! XD hehehe…

I won without knowing how to do any combos into ultra… no headbutt into ultra, nothing… and you can still do it  just poking away… hehe

I’ve played precisely ONE Ken or Ryu (it was a Ryu) who didn’t jump in over and over again even though it gets punished every single time. Coincidentally enough, he had an SRK in his tag. And he won.

Only played 14 matches tonight–G2 is taking way too long to pop up new opponents–but I got (the same) Chun twice, a Rufus, a Honda, a Gief and the other 9 were Ken or Ryu, some of whom were the same people. Probably going to dust off Blazblue and play that for a few days until G2 gets more populated; like every other time when I take a break from SF4, I’m sure my skills will degenerate into worthlessness by the time I pick it up again.

Just got started

Ive played about 10 matches so far ever. My Zangief is holding well against the thin competition so far. I still gotta learn the game though.

So far I’m addicted to this game too, been playing almost non stop lol. Haven’t gotten any hate mail yet, but if someone destroys me I’ll always send a friend request so they can kick my ass later  So many Ryus and Kens, surprising amount of Sakura, some Akuma, a few Guiles, and that’s about it for me, and 2 Giefs that I lost to cuz I’m Rog >_> Overall, great so far, anything with 3 bars or above is mostly lag free, good times :wgrin:

im pretty happy with the pc online so far i guess… sometimes theres a bunch of input lag and other lag… but other than that i think its pretty nice

oh and i can only play like after 1am lol so all my matches are scrubs and laggers and theres noone on after 1 from my area

happy with my 75 percent win rate after never playing it before until the pc version came out and using dhalsim to beat all the scrub sagats

sf4 pc

SF4 pc is amazzzzzing. I have it on my laptop and desktop. Also have it for XBL.

Graphics are better than arcade, I only find 4-5 bar green connections (I live in ny) and the competition is pretty good. Only caveat though is I made it to G2 and no one is on :frowning:

I decided to use a new character exclusively for the PC version, this was great because If I wanted to hop on G1 with a new character I’d get my ass kicked and not learn anything, whereas on PC I can start from scratch and build my way up like I did with my main. Played Sagat on XBL and strictly seth on PC.

I love how I can be doing HW, and in less than 1 minute, be online, play a few matches as a study break, then go back to HW. I also found myself getting lazy and playing less on xb because that requires my lazy ass going to the TV room, switching video input cables, booting up the xbox and then playing - only to find 1-2 bar connections on xbl G1 or inexperienced playes in player matches, I just use my xbox to do player matches with good players that I know in RL.

There’s one sakura out there, at least. He’s beaten me in championship mode finals a couple times. Good player, whoever it is

I’ve been toying with the game for a couple of days on my PC… I’m already a PS3 player though. Frankly, so far I hate it on PC. Maybe I need to restart but I keep getting spots of slowdown (just randomly) that ruin combo timing. I have 6 gigs of ram and a nice graphics card so hdardware can’t be an issue.

Your problem is:

1: The connection could drop at anytime
2: he has not enabled Fixed frame rates and there for when he lags you lag…
3: There is no 3 :stuck_out_tongue:

i added a guy who beat the living **** out of me the otherday and today i was like god… played him 5-0

And i could feel it… the motions and the timing just came together.
My mind and my hands where one… everytime he jumped in or jumped out id ultra or super (cant do many combos)
Just in time and it was amazing… Love the turn punch at the start :stuck_out_tongue:

And the reason that people play ‘‘Flow Chart’’ Is cause when they play arcade/story mode… on easyest to medium almost…
You can jump in all you want and the CPU wont block the high - low - High again…
well I know that happened to me at least…
Im glad i changed chars, cause playing balrog makes me a better ryu.
You learn a lot by playing different chars, with balrog i learned to be pasient and now crucial timing was…
When to punish and apply pressure and when not to… when you back off and play def.

This game is… pretty amazing me thinkys  hehe

lol when i first played this, 90% of the ryu’s i played could fadc into ultra

I was referring to just offline, training mode slowdown. edit: nevermind, i rebooted and its running better.

How to disable the announcer.
YAY

the announcer’s alright…
kinda epic when he says “FIGHT” with volume up high ^^

Playing a bunch of people online and it’s kind of annoying. I can literally just crouch the entire round and my opponent won’t do ANYTHING! Boring fights when playing people like that. Usually the Ryu’s and Ken’s. Either that or just hadoken hadoken hadokenhadoken hadoken hadokenhadoken hadoken hadokenhadoken hadoken hadokenhadoken hadoken hadokenhadoken hadoken hadokenhadoken hadoken hadoken after hadoken hadoken hadoken. sigh In case your wondering I like to go on offense as well as defense… usually offense at the start of the round. Anyways if you recognize my GT and we played you are boring to play with! Not that I’m really good at the game or anything but it makes the game boring and I wanna have fun :looney:

The few people that I did play with and weren’t the above GG’s and it was FUN! :lovin:

I need more opponents to train with. If you have a good connection to California, add me! AL3ZAY is my GT on GFWL.

This game is pure hot garbage online. lol at all the online warrior going to evo thinking they can play street fighter at all.

this is actually making me a worse player
