The "Official" Street Fighter 4 PC Thread (read first post)

I’m having the same problem. On the PS3, even with 1 red bar the input lag was barely noticeable. On the PC it seems a heck of a lot worse. With three bars you can see the delay between when you press up and when your character jumps. I don’t know if the guy on the other side is having the same problems or what, but reaction blocking is nigh impossible. I might as well not be holding the controller.

I gotta aree with gilleys sentiments about the pc version being definitely faster/smoother online, i can play ppl comptetantly from areas i couldnt on console now on pc.

Search for stability? That should work.

Nope. There’s never anything but 0 or 1 bars. It’s really terrible. That’s what we get for being in the middle of nowhere…

You’ll see that our best bet is the west coast of the US if you live east cost of australia or south-east asia if you live in Perth.

Thanks for your reply Radar.

I’m loving the pc version. I’ve found better online matches than 360. Only gripes are no chat and I have to run w/out backgrounds (still 60 fps at least)

I’m pretty sure I’ve played some of you, feel free to hit me up on steam or live tag=broken waffles

well out of 50 matches yesterday only 1 dc and it took me 4 hour to finish 1 arcade game… ppl just keep joining which is good

<< happy camper

nyone tryed to find the optimal setting with a 8800gtx?

It’s great you can disable the background gfx in the PC version. I already wished to have that option on PS3. Most are annoying and all are quite dispensable (except Training stage).

But almost every round I always get a terrible slowdown for a couple of seconds before the game returns to normal speed again. I don’t know why that is. I have set the framerate option to “fixed”. Most of the time the game runs at ~60fps without slowdowns. But in almost every match it drops for a while - mostly near the end of a round. Because of that I already was accused of inducing lag on purpose.

It doesn’t seem like “normal lag” but more like as if the network has to somehow “resynch” my opponent’s PC with mine and thus almost pausing the game. It’s totally different from the PS3 where the game either lags the whole time or doesn’t lag at all - on PC it seems to play perfect in every game - until the slowdown comes.

Btw., I suggest adding Windows Live Gamertag as option for each SRK member (sry if that has been suggested already).

Just put it under x360 gamertag. They run on the same servers and sync with your old gamertags. Mine is RichL2 just like on the x360.

I think the reason for the odd lag is because everyone’s PC specs are different.

On a PS3 or 360… you’re playing against people who have the exact same hardware. So performance is the same and the only lag you experience is based on connection lag.

On the PC… I think some of the lag is because your opponents PC may not perform as well as yours so you perceive it as terrible lag thats random.

Basically I think on the PC we’re getting hardware lag, and net lag where as on the console you just deal with net lag.

You can adjust usb lag… I think

Not sure what you mean by optimal settings but with my 8800gtx and dual core e6750 I set the game to the fixed frame rate and it rarely drop below 57 FPS. Settings are: Model quality (High), Background quality (low), soft shadow (mid), self shadow (low), motion blur (off), particles (high), extra touch (off), 1280x960. I’ll take a slightly uglier game that runs smooth over one that is choppy but pretty.

Also for all I heard about people ragequitting halfway through a match I haven’t had anyone do that to me yet after 80 or so games.

I am having an issue with the network status for multiplayer games. The network symbol blinks and no bars show up; any opponent this happens to I can’t connect to. Furthermore 1/4 people I do get bars for I am “Unable to connect” with. I tried searching for a reason why this was happening but my google skills are apparently failbot. Any ideas? I’m getting really tired of having to jam on x to refresh

i almost, every single time, instantly get a championship game every time i host. the longest i had to wait for any championship match is roughly 10 sec. for either 1st, semi and final.

so far my hori’s USB timing has been on onpoint. try re-calibrating the stick in the control panel if you find the timing being off.

GG’s to zyphaz and Crisis Xero (whom i get completely rocked by every single time)

has anyone installed this on Windows 7 RC1?

^^^ Yes and running fine in Steam.

Cool thanks!

I mean the best quality without impacting my steady 60fps

The only thing I tried so far is the “Ink extra touch” ( I love that thing) and I’m playing in 1680x1050

I will mess with gfx a bit more tonight… wonder what blur does in that game

Guys i need some help with fraps. I am trying to record my matches, however despite me selecting 60fps in fraps, the game runs at 28-30 fps with fraps running video mode. How can i record my matches and not have fraps slow the game down?

My pc far surpasses requirements, and i can run it at full settings and never drop below 60fps normally.

If anyone is looking to get some games in, add me to your friends list ‘Vipers Daddy’

Not a lot of people with good connections on, and I’m fiending for play. I’m EC/Philly

Ahaha, funny fellow you are. 60fps in Fraps it’s the number of fps your video will be recorded. More fps in Fraps = lagier game.
