Just finished downloading and played a few matches. Anyone know how to set it so people can’t interrupt you during arcade mode, I selected yes and now trying to unlock chars people keep bargaining in on me. And, is there any in game non MIC chat?

He and Gouken will only appear if you have already beaten the game with the character you’re playing.

Apparently to rank up in G2 is to never go to finals… I’ve been stuck in G2 finals for so damn long. People seem to just keep losing 2nd round to get points cause its so easy lol

Whoever has trouble running this either has 1. A bad comp. 2. A bad Connection 3. It’s on Variable. 4. 1&2 :p.

It’s been pretty clear for me and the input lag isn’t very noticable even when I played with someone who had 3 bars.

For anyone else who couldn’t figure it out, at the select your mode screen (arcade, live, vs. etc) hit right ctrl on your KB to turn off the let people barge in on arcade mode feature.

This might sound dumb, but how can i save a replay?
I can’t find the option anywhere.

Just a tip, read the Championship Mode update news in-game and then search for Championship Mode features on shoryuken.com first.

Since you’re new I’ll answer. Only the top 5,000 FINAL champ. mode battles with the highest CP earned will have the option to save a replay. We can’t just save them at our own will.

Bought this much earlier this evening and have been playing it all night… I can’t find any fault with it whatsoever… I think out of the whole evening, i’ve had maybe 2 or 3 unplayable games… The rest have been perfect… I would say on the PS3 i’d get maybe 1 out of 5 with slight lag, so really i’d say the PC ver is better !!! Plus finding a game is INSTANT !

I LOVE SF4 on the PC… Well done Capcom !

I thought I’d share with you my PC experiences from last night. I posted this in the guile forums cause someone asked about it…

I’m going to have to give PC versions lag two thumbs up. It aint GGPO but it’s way better than PSN/XBL

Guile Moveset and Attributes

Yeah, totally off topic but I thought I would chime in to answer this. I bought the PC version yesterday and played it at my workplace for a bit and noticed a slight improvement in the lag, better than both consoles. When I got hom I installed it on my home PC and was amazed at how much better the lag was. It’s night and day, the PC version has significantly less lag with 4/5 bars than the console version. Fortunately most of my matches were 4 bars. On console I suck because I can’t react fast enough to anti-air people with guile’s c.fierce. It trades all day long due to the lag. If someone can freely jump at me, then my whole gameplan just falls apart. Also on console, I can barely do guile’s lvl2 FA > b+rh > c.strong combos. Last night on the PC version, I got it out like 10x or so. I was able to land my s.jab xN > s.fierce links really easy. I could actually react to people jumping over my SB’s and was able to c.fierce them or airthrow them with ease. Another thing that I can’t do on console is throw balrog out of his dash punches. On PC this wasnt too hard.

I was actually having fun playing SF4 online. The console versions make me rage because people can get away with lame tactics cause of the lag. This isn’t the case on the PC version. There were a couple really laggy matches I played but for the most part the lag was great. The one thing that’s going to suck is dealing with all the macro users and hackers. I noticed people already had 999999x BP/GP/CP/etc. points. That kind of stuff doesn’t bother me though, cause I don’t care about the points, I just want to have fun and get better! I can’t do this on console, but with PC it feels like I might just be able to.

I love the port and decided to give it another day before I shared another opinion.

Well, here we are a day later and there is still some sort of annoying lag even on 4-5 bar games. Whether it is the whole fixed/variable framerate thing I have no idea, but it certainly ruins the online experience.

sooooooooooo… capcom, how bout some HDREMIX and MVC2 for pc???

they would be a sinch to port since they would run easily on almost all systems and they could just make it an easy digital dl

So far lag hasn’t been as bad for me as it was on XBL. It takes a lot less time to search for games too so when you get the dreaded “Unable to join game” message it’s not as big a deal to search again.

Whats the verdict on the FIXED vs VARIABLE option? I’m not sure but i think Fixed introduces some input lag where as variable seems better. Anyone else notice this?

I havent decided which is better online. It seems the trade off is Fixed introduces a slight input lag online where as variable seems to put you at the mercy of the slowest computers frame rate?

You need to get all the other characters first before akuma will appear (minus Seth and gouken), ultra finish has nothing to do with it

No… Variable Frame slows you down when lag is coming
Fixed Frame Skips the the game when the lag is coming.

Fixed is better, for online play, Fixed is the way to go, there’s nothing much to discuss about.

not exactly
you just need to beat the game with: Fei Long, Cammy, Rose, Sakura, Rose and Gen. then need to get 2 perfects and 2 ultra finishes with any other character u want. but yeah, to unlock those 6 chars. 1st you need to beat the game with C.Viper, Sakura, Ryu, El Fuerte, Chun-li and M.Bison.
That leaves a result of 12 characters you need to beat the game with + 1 extra.

That was for Akuma, for Gouken, beat the game with Akuma and then, play with whoever you want, doing 2 perfects and 3 ultra finishes.

Only with Seth you need to beat the game with everyone.

Then you have some hardware problem, close programs like firefox and MSN Messenger.
