One thing I have noticed while playing this game extensively online is that you can never really judge someone’s connection based on what the game tells you initially. Every single time I’ve connected to someone, whether they have 1 bar or 4 bars, when I actually connect to them and enter the lobby, the connection goes up by 1 bar. So if I see a 3 bar and I connect, it turns into a 4 bar and the play is flawless. If I connect to a 4 bar it goes up to 5 bars and the same applies. Anyone else know what I’m talking about?
Haha, that is so wierd, I experience the total opposite, if a 5 bar joins me they go down to 4 bars, 4 bars goes down to 3 bars, I’ve never seen bars go up, only down for me.
That’s the case with everything online (well, not the 1 bar up thing). Ping latency can fluctuate depending on both sides and everything in between.
SFIV/PC fighting online < FPS ~ MMORPG in terms of infrastructure. There are no dedicated servers for PC fighters yet (as far as I know)
so when u guys go “ranked match”->“quick match”, then how many games do u usually see from 1 search? i usually see no more than 2 on PS3 version, how many on PC?
Yeah, maybe I’m helping the connection by just closing out everything that uses bandwidth.
I am having trouble signing into Live. All it says to me is there might be a network problem or Live is not online at the moment. I created a profile, and signed in fine on the browser, but for some reason the game does not ever sign in for me.
This might be a case of ports…which ports should be forwarded for SFIV? I need some help, for some reason i am stuck on this.
I usually see like 5-6? Estimation. 1-2 of them are 4-5 bars and the rest are 1-2 bars
Yeah, I’ve noticed that. Not always I think(havn’t paid attention), but at least often.
Seriously, I’m still astonished at how smooth almost every match is online. Might be my region, lots of PC gamers around these parts of the world I guess.
I just switched the championship mode and so far I dont’ like it. The matches in ranked were harder and I got my first ragequitter my first game in championship mode. It’s been 25 min and I"m already G3-c
I have a suspicion that the PC iteration will rank up slower than the console version. Maybe because the consoles are already established? Maybe because a lot of PC users are buying SF4 PC for a mobile option when they aren’t on their 360/PS3?
I’m just making an uneducated guess

‘Theres no doubt in my mind that it will be an awful console port with missing features that have been standard for pc since 1997. I’m expecting no standalone dedicated server executable, input lag when online(wtf? why?), lame little latency meters, locked at 60fps, no way to change resolution, no way to use the mouse in the menus with xbox buttons showing up everywhere. You know, the usual suspects of bad console ports.’
lol, a dedicated server executable for a fighting game without lobbies? What would that even be used for?
How is “locked at 60 fps” even a bad thing lol, that they didn’t do this is messing things up
can’t believe I will have to do Ryu’s hard combo 2 AGAIN!
oh well dling the game right now looking foward to play with you guys
i’m just gonna give anyone who reads this a heads up, PC ports are never good and will always have the crappy features you’ll find on your console with nothing added.
Well, it’s a problem with games like UT3 which are supposed to be on PC but get dumbed down for the sake of consoles… But with fighting games, I say we take what we can get and call it a victory
well get use to it because every damn pc game will be a port soon
Please pass the mic.
About Akuma… I played Arcade mode on easy, with only 1 round, got a perfect, no continues, but didn’t face Akuma. Did I do anything wrong to unlock him?
Think you need to win with a ultra 1 or 2 times before you beat seth also. So 1 perfect and 2 ultra finishes.
