Do the live reques any port forwarding in order to work properly? The first day ive played I was behind no firewall with 1000-9999 tcp and udp ports forwarded to my internal ip, and ive found plenty of games. The second day i was behind a different connection (dont remember the specifications right now, same dl/up as the first one, but different ports redirected) and ive found way less games. but the live was much more crowded than the first day. All the people ive palyed ranked the first day was there, plus many new others.
Another thing; at the first day ive started with 0 ranking points (or the starting points, dunno how much it is), and at the second day i was above 2600, like 600 above the second guy in my country. I was thinking about the possibility of the game looking for someone with as much points as me AND with a good latency, and that beeing the reason i wasnt finding any games at all.
And if you just want to play offline on some other computer, you don’t even need the cd-key. The zeros that are there at the start work, oddly enough. You still need the cd in the drive though obviously.
Just got the game, and I’m messing around in ranked matches right now. First two were pretty laggy, but one was bad connection (I think the dude was Russian lol) and the second was the other guy probably not setting his framerate to fixed.
Damn it, I need this game now (come on, Amazon!). The earlier I get it, the earlier I can actually try to get the 10 wins in a row in ranked achievement. Everyone that cares about achievements better do it now before all the newbies are gone.
Got the game running smoothly on my system but I can’t connect to any online matches. Are there any special port, ISP, or internet settings that need to be changed or optimized? I am signed up for GWFL ‘junglistric.’
Bought the game, enjoying it offline but the onlines not up to scratch, input lags not so good, game has to be 5 bars green which is really really rare, wish it was like GGPO which has no input lag.
The PC version’s online play is terrible compared to the xbox. I’m on a quadcore, 8800gtx 8gigs ram, and offline play is ok but online play has way too much input lag with yellow bars compared to xbox360
Toss in the slow mo crap that happens occasionally due to people’s pcs… i may just stick to 360
I also cant beleive capcom is going to make us buy addon costumes?!
Really? i was on last night using rose/akuma and all i went against was ryus, same as PS3. its Ryu heaven no matter what system i am on (unless xobx has different player base).
My exp when SF4 first came out, it was ken heaven, then switched to Ryus.
GFWL uses UPnP so if you have a UPnP router it should auto configure NAT for you. You can check by opening the GFWL drop down menu (Home on the keyboard or Guide on a 360 controller) and then going to Settings > Network Information.
If you don’t own a router with UPnP functionality or if you only play SFIV on one machine and you want to set up NAT permanently then you can go ahead and forward port 40679 to your local IP.
Whenever I ran into a Sagat yesterday, I was happy. They were mostly all bad and easy wins, even with my Guile. I’m having a lot of trouble against Balrogs, however…
Online play for me was pretty good. I’d say 80% of my games were almost completely lag free, while the rest had some choppiness, etc. I had one or two games with really bad lag (out of 60). Of course, when I try to put that player on my avoid list, they don’t have the option of choosing “because he lags too damn much.” So I had to make up a reason like communication, etc.
i’ve received my sf4 today and i’m really disappointed regarding the online part, it’s exactly the same then the console version. No easy way to chat, no ping info, no lobby, no way to see all games and filter them by connection or places/language, lot of lag (i have a 1.2 MBytes/s connection and there’s still latency when i try to combo) and there’s still that crappy-cheap p2p connection mode.
After 5 month i was expecting capcom would align with online pc games standards, any online pc game 10years ago had these features… soooo disappointing
I could hope they would fix all that with patches but i know they won’t , they’ll just release a sf4 championship edition instead
Yeah, pretty messed up but to be honest I wasn’t expecting anything more, they wouldnt have any money to make if SF4 was perfect, gotta save some stuff for the inevitable sequel :razzy:
Oh well, lucky for us the PC version was a couple bucks cheaper than the console version, still a quality game offline
Hello, I recently bought SFIV through Steam and am having some issues that maybe you guys can help with.
Basically, when I start the game and sign in with GFWL, I get like 20 FPS and sometimes the game freezes. But, if I DON’T sign in with GFWL, I get a solid 60 fps on max settings. I have a 7950GX2 so I know my hardware (probably) isn’t the issue. I’ve tried two different antiviruses and two different firewalls so that probably isn’t the issue, and I’ve forwarded all the necessary ports. By the way, the lag is online or offline, so I assume the problem has something to do with the GFWL software (which I tried reinstalling).
Please help, this lack of piledrivering is killing me on the inside
