Where’s the good game thread anyway? I think Gilly destroyed me twice so we already have some big names around.
so i am a newbie SF player with a PS3 and PC(maximum FPS under highest setting in SFIV PC benchmark)
based on player background/level, should i buy the PS3 version or the PC version in terms of online play? this is gonna affect my decision to purchase the corresponding fightstick.
Got friends?
ok so has anyone figured out a way to get the game to support NORMAL mics not this silly xbox360 garbage mics only stupidity?
its really retarded that this thing is pretty much just exactly the xbox360 version, i mean come on… no normal mic support are you joking me capcom
and where the hell is ingame chatting, lobbies, how about just a little fucking textbox in a 1v1 lobby room so you can say Hi and make it not seem like youre just playing arcade mode against faceless enemies, retarded capcom, retarded.
nope, so that isn’t really a deciding factor.
man…
my cpu is too ancient to run this game…is it gonna be more expensive than the console versions?
I saw this complaint the other day and was confused. My MacBook Pro integrated mic automatically setup itself with the game and I can talk to people. Why doesn’t yours work? o_O
Odds are you have the 9600GT. That is a very different card from the Radeon 9600 they are talking about. And yes, it is a bad card.
Anyway, did anyone buy this game on Impulse instead of Steam?
actually, nvm lolo it works fine
still, where the hell is my little chat box at the bottom of the screen
even free clients like 2df have chat… :lame:
Nope…radeon 9600. Pre-X series, Pre-HD series.
So how is online play. and are the load times any quicker
Hate to sound like a broken record, but does anyone know a fix for this. I did buy the game off steam so I don’t know that has anything to do with it, but I keep getting this obnoxious message. All I did was unlock everyone except seth. :L I was playing online earlier so I have no clue what’s wrong now.

Quick online update: I suck…no no kidding, kidding.
I played a few championship matches tonight and got to the finals in one of them. They were laggy until I realized that I had **VARIABLE FRAMERATE ** on. So take that as a suggestion to use FIXED frames if you don’t have the best PC in the world. I didn’t have any lag on my AT&T DSL connection. It’s not offline play obviously but it will definitely do!
Damn I’m rusty at this game.
RUFUSSSSSSSS!!!
G2 is pretty much non existant… at this time atleast.
I’ve been waiting in game for a damn long time… no one is joining.
I installed it on an arcade emu machine (from Steam). It said I had no controllers connected (it is controlled via joysticks that send keyboard input). When I tried to play, it crashed and sent a report somewhere.
Anybody else get pwned too?
Had the game for a day now. 2 main gripes:
-
I think they dumbed down the controls far too much, to the point where it’s frustrating. I’m trying to do Ryu’s ultra, but half the time I get EX Shoryukens. Maybe this problem will go away after more practice, but being a newbie, it sucks during a match for that to happen.

Online play is good…only problem is that good matches are few and far between. I dunno about other ppl, but I have a great connection and all I see are other ppl with 1 or 2 bars. I have to refresh the game list 4-5 times before I see a game with at least 4 bars.
Other than that I’m having a blast getting my ass handed to me. I figure that would be the best way to learn.
KoeniggCCX if anyone wants a newbie to beat up on.
Fixed my problem, was the shortcut I was using, haha…
@ Koenigg. The controls aren’t really dumbed downed, but there are new shortcuts so you can do :df::df: to shoryu now. Kinda annoying if you’re trying to do a specific thing, but you get used to it.
Gamer Tag is KenFreknMasters if anyone is up for some rounds on the westcoast :o
ive played a few 1-2 bars connections and somehow lag wasn’t so bad? maybe its my connections, but overall from my experience, the lag is a bit better on the PC side (connection/rig allowing) than the 360. but as of late, not nearly as much competition on the PC as opposed to the 360.
Just downloaded it tonight. I haven’t played in a couple months time because my Xbox 360 RROD’d right before the tournament mode patch came out so I never got a chance to try it.
So far the PC version has been far superior. The matching system is still terrible however it doesn’t take as long to load up the available matches and most of the time I get 4-5 bars.
One weird thing I find is that in the lobby it will say the opponent has 2-3 bars but when I actually join the match it will show 4-5 bars??? Is this the same for anyone else?
Also the game runs flawless on max settings on my ATI 4850 which can be had for under $100 now days if you’re looking to upgrade.
