The "Official" Street Fighter 4 PC Thread (read first post)

get at me. hosting games on 20mbs fios. so far i haven’t experienced much lag at all if i host.

The ATI 9600 is an AGP card, so… the best AGP card today… is a Radeon HD 4670 1GB.
i never knew thay still made such new card but aparently thay do.
Now since you have an AGP card it means your system is old.
Witch means your power supply wont be able to handle the new cards power Demands.
Maybe… if it was a well branded PSU…
But still your Ram Frequency and your Cpu clock Frequency will be Bottlenecking your GPU and it will not deliver as much power/Bandwith as youd want.
It all ties together… if one component of your system is weak your hole system will be reduced… and not live up to its full potential.

WTF? They still make AGP?

I take it all you guys are playing online tonight instead of giving us folk over here a quick rundown… After a night of play, is this worth getting for online play? Or should i stick to a PS3 version? Bearing in mind that i can use my HRAP3 on a chair and nice desk with PC, instead of lap play with the PS3… oh and it looks soooooooooo much nicer on PC…

PC runs it fine BTW…

i think you answered your own question

so the online play is not linked to either xbox or ps3 version?

I dunno why that one guy, forgot his name, and don’t exactly feel like finding it, thinks that the 9600 is a bad card. I’m running a Q6600 quad core 2.4ghz, 3 gigs of ram, and the 9600, and I got 70fps on the benchmark with all of the settings on max(except for anti-aliasing, which seems to crash my graphics driver unless it’s either off, or on the highest setting…which is odd to me). No over clocking either. So either it’s the rest of your system, or something’s messed up, cuz mine runs perfect.

All of my problems have been resolved.

However, I have absolutely no idea how to get my headset to work. It is a real headset (PC 150) not an xbox or ps3 one. If anyone was able to get theirs to work, let me know how.

what about the alternate customes
i get my sf4 from steam and there where no altternate customes inside
and when i looked up on the gfwl market there where no add ons too

Played about 40 matches so far. I’m noticing more lag on average than on 360. This applies all the way up to 5 bar matches. Always seems to be a constant lag.

Capcom will milk it out of us one way or another… just when…?

@theirlaw – it’s most likely people not putting frame rates on fixed…

how do I change what is my start button? It stuck on R1… Which is my fierce punch.

shan1212: No it is not.

Capcom have said (I forget where) that cross-platform play could become a reality, at least between GFWL and XBL, but it is unlikely.

The PC crowd seems weird. I’ve hardly fought any spammy scrubtastic types who like to, for example, constantly j.rh -> sweep or do nothing but lariat. You know, the kind that make up the majority of XBL players. Instead I see two distinct categories: a) never touched a Street Fighter before in their life, but bless ‘em they keep trying, and b) fairly competent. I have to actually stop jumping in on Ryus, for example, as I know I will eat a lp DP -> ultra, whereas on XBL I get so much less punished for being stupid. (I’ve only really played Championship Mode, though, other modes’ mileage may vary.)

I guess the only people who have bought SFIV for PC are either:

a) PC gamers who don’t own a console/not interested in console-style games generally, who have picked it up out of curiosity to see what all the fuss is about

b) hardcore SF enthusiasts.

Also I would like to PUNCH people who leave the frame rate set to variable in the FACE. The number of matches I’ve fought at less than half speed…

Dont listen to them. They are people with shitty lagging computers blaming the game. I dont notice any lag on 4-5 bar matches. Very smooth. My pc is top notch though. Run fixed fps setting to ensure constant game speed.

I retired my AGP 8x box (which was six years old) a year ago, and I thought I was the last one

give in! upgrade! pci-e2 or bust!

On control setup outside of the game, try choosing controller 4, change the start manually on the program and then click ok and run sf4. Works fine on my HRAP2, duno what stick you have though =\

Other than my one friend having a terrible connection to the game…I’ve had nothing but yellow-green bar matches for the PC. This is outweighed by the fact that most of the guys that I’ve played are pretty decent at the game and know the matchup well enough to embarass me each time. If you didn’t guess already I’m in the “category A” of shinygerbil’s group of sf4 pc players :\

Out of curiosity has anyone had the “You can’t play with this profile on live”? I made a completely new account and had played it with a friend online for about an hour and I only had the starting characters. Now I can’t play and I only have to unlock Seth. I don’t care for seth much, but if I have to unlock him just to play online this is going to be annoying =.=…

I’ve fought against 3 Lariat spamming Zangief players. I dont understand what they get out of the game by just pressing the 3 buttons for every single attack and defense purpose.

Then I fought against 1 Sagat that just kept tiger kneeing and a Ryu that kept spamming hadoukens.

I maybe fought like 2 players that were actually good the rest just want the highest BP the cheapest way possible.

This is my first tinkering with the game, and I’ve had a positive experience so far in online matches.

4-5 bar matches run stellar for me, with no slowdown (I only have IRC open in the background).

Get at me for games.
