The "Official" Street Fighter 4 PC Thread (read first post)

they sell pc games at 7-11?

yea lol.

By the way, I don’t know if the leaderboards are the same with the xbox live users, so check this out (from the PC leaderboards):

Is this even legit? :stuck_out_tongue:

haha no… its a bug/glitch, has to be… those 2 on top arent even supose to be there… or it thay do thay wont have over 3000… its way to close at the top.

Some 7/11 sell games… not all… but those who do sell them just to sell them… thay dont really care about the release date…

Just a heads up, I’ve been working on a couple of batch scripts for the game and I’ve just finished.

The goal is to take every element, sans subtitles and whatnot, and change it from ENG to JPN, including the original name scheme for Vega, Bison, and Balrog. I’m pretty sure this affects Gouki as well, but I haven’t spent the time unlocking everyone yet.

Character voices, movie audio, the battle hud (names and whatnot) and character select, and command list (to reflect the previous two) all get changed.

You run them (.bat) in the base game directory and they should take about 20 seconds or less to finish. One converts to JPN, the other reverts the changes. I’ve only had issue with reverting back to ENG, although I’m pretty sure I’ve fixed it. That’s not much of a concern since there’s always the Repair option from the installation setup.

Anyway, since I can’t create a new thread for myself (this being my second SRK post), I’d be glad to share the scripts with anyone interested.

GODLIKE 99KINGS <<<< lol what a nickname

sick lurking skillz imo

And apparently they hail from the country of Street Fighter IV

I managed to run it in 60fps in my notebook, with all set to low, 640x480 fullscreen.
But it only runs on 60fps when model quality is set to low or normal, and when that happens, I can’t see ryu/ken fireball, nor Dhalsim’s yoga flame (I can see yoga fire tho)

Then I have to set the model quality to high just to see the fireballs, and the game FPS drops to 40.

So it’s unplayable anyways, Capcom was really stupid to just make fireballs disappear when setting the char models to mid or low

running the game with all max settings at 60 fps on the benchmark. now all i have to do is wait ;\

Has anyone tired these cheap HK PS knock off controllers? Are they any good? Durable? Thinking about getting one for the PC just for SF4.

I see fireballs fine at 640*480 and all settings on low.

Really?
OMG i don’t know what can it be then, fireballs shows fine at model quality High, but not on medium and low (some fireballs do, but things like hadouken and yoga flame can only be seem in high)

I don’t know if it’s an vga issue then, but if it was, then I shouldn’t be able to see fireballs at all even on high :frowning:

Don’t know what to do now

Update your direct X and graphics drivers, see if that solves it.

I might just have to drop the game or match with someone if the FPS is bad. I mean… my computer is a couple years old, and when I bought it, it was no where near top of the line, it was like more below entry level with the best video card I could get (Given that my motherboard can only take PCI-E 1.0 video cards). It rapes SF4 in FPS. I’m not trying to brag I’m just saying, even my ‘older’ computer takes this game and runs with the money. I was just expecting other people that have the game to be in a similar spot.

I think they spent a lot of time optimizing all the stuff so it would work really good on people’s PC’s that aren’t at light speed.

I can’t even play online yet so we’ll see… You’ll just have to make friends and play with the people who have good framerate.

To be honest, I played as many matches in 1 day as I could muster and I bumped into some “frameraters” 2 times. One felt like street fighter matrix :razzy:

Is there a way to force OpenGL for sf4?

2 qns that i have.

  1. Is it possible or where do i get the file after i make a deliberate save while watching a replay?

  2. Any of you using a laptop to play this game and if so, what is the configuration you have? i can only be sure that a normal laptop w/o dedicated graphics card cannot run this game as i have tried

Just got done reinstalling and moving to XP x64, and while SF4 ran perfectly on the same exact hardware (but 32-bit OS), it now runs slow, and just crashes to desktop after a few moments in any kind of fight.

I’ve put DirectX 9.0 on, latest ‘and greatest’ Catalyst Control Center, even plugged my stick in.

Managed to get some of Sagat’s trials done, but that’s about it.

What else can I do?

HP Pavillion dv6700
Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 2.50GHz
3.00 GB RAM
nVidia GeForce 8400M GS

I can confirm, at least for my specs, that performance is better in the retail product than it does in the benchmark. In the benchmark, I had all the settings low or off with background only on high. I was averaging about 50fps. Now that I have the game and am playing, I am getting about 65-ish so I turned V-Sync, stabilising it to 60 constant.
