The "Official" Street Fighter 4 PC Thread (read first post)

No problem. Glad it helped, now that I remember I had to do the same thing but it asked me on the first start up.

Anyone have the retail game* legitimately* in the US yet? Steam still set for the 7th but I’m hoping a retailer somewhere here jumped the gun.

uhh are you guys saying that you can’t use a normal computer microphone (like a built in llaptop one, or external, or a real mic through an external interface) to talk to people in this game and must have some shitty xbox 360 controller microphone?

whats the point of making it for pc AND delaying it for MONTHS without changing ANYYYYTHING

Wondering the same. I’m gonna take a trip to a wallmart and a couple bestbuy stores in my area on Sunday to see if I can find a copy.

But has anyone been able to map their PS3 Guide button to bring up the Windows Live Home menu?

The only kinds of places you’re going to find it early are mom and pop stores. You can get fired for putting stuff out early at BestBuy and Walmart.

ATI Radeon HD 4350

is there any way to set both players to use the same device? like 1p & 2p using the same keyboard? There’s an X-Arcade dual stick (yeah I know is the worst POS of a stick ever made) at work and it seems the game is only allowing me to assign P1 to it. I wanna play this with my coworkers :frowning:

And there would be your problem.

Yeah, I just did a quick search, and it seems like its a crappy card. =/

The game is somewhat playable if I turn off the backgrounds.

I read on the CU Forums that you could get that stick (At least, I think it was that one) working with a program called “PPJoy”. Google that shit up, yo.

I have an adapter conected to my hrap2sa and a ps2 pad at the same time, maybe it’s the same as the Dual Stick.
Just go to the Button Configuration from the Launch program, and instead of custom at bottom left, put controller type 2, hope it works with you.

EDIT: NVM… just remembered the x-arcade dual stick comes with an usb adaptor =/, i was thinking about the PS2 adaptor, and then both controllers connected to another adapter to USB lol…

thanks, will give it a shot.

Yeah, the damn thing gets recognized as a keyboard, so even when I get P1 working, I still need to use the actual keyboard to navigate menus/character selection lol, I hate this thing but I don’t mind playing some casuals during lunch time at work with it.

EDIT:
PPjoy works like a charm!

Optimizing and making sure it works on the million configurations of computers out there? Delaying to stop piracy?

But yeah, the microphone thing and fixed framerate not forced seems extremely stupid.

I just picked up an SF4 Fight Pad for the 360 and plan to pick up the SF4 bundle for a second fight pad (from what I heard, it’s the 360 pad). I plugged my fight pad into the PC to test it out with some other games and the RT/LT buttons are registered as an axis instead of actual buttons. I do have XBCD installed but I only have them for my Hori 360 stick.

Not to derail the topic about the game but are there any ways to get XBCD to work on the fight pad as well?

This also makes me wonder how SF4 Fight Pad work out of the box for SF4 with RT and LT conflicting each other. Special drivers built in? >.>;

I just walked(through scorching heat) to get SFIV, but the fucking stores doesn’t have it yet! I didn’t order from a webstore in case it wouldn’t make it here before the weekend, so I’d have to wait until monday… But ironically I think I would have gotten it by now if I had.

I went to both game and gamestop(game didn’t even have a release date for it), and several electronic stores…

I’m renouncing buying games in stores forever, it’s all internet stores for me from now on. :annoy::annoy::annoy:

Why didn’t you just call them first?

I was going shopping for food nearby anyway, actually, so it was just a detour to different shops. The heat made me extra angry though.
Besides, I don’t buy things in irl stores very often. I thought, silly me, that they would just have games on release like all the online stores.

So even an ATI Radeon HD 4350 is no good for this game?

I myself have an HD 3300, and it’s worked like a charm for all my other PC games, I guess the most graphic intensive being TF2 or L4D.

That kinda sucks if I would need to get a new card just to play this…

Those aren’t all that intensive at all. Source engine is pretty old, and very optimized for PC (Valve are pretty good at this stuff).
I wouldn’t count on those games being representative of how SF4 would run on a computer.

haha yeah…

Well this is somewhat disappointing. I thought the video card was pretty new when we got it a year ago or so, and that’s the oldest part of the system. The rest of the computer is as good as it gets.

Guess there’s not much else I can do about it is there…
