Anyone has Falco tips and frames. I know SHL, but I need tips to utilize it well thanks.
LOL! Yeah, seriously. Shiek isnât overpowered and has so many bad match ups! She should be low tier, but there is no such thing as tiers because there is no unbalance in any game! Sagat isnât ridiculously good in CvS2 either. Kyosuke is on level playing field! Tiers are bull!
Hey everybody, want to Peach bomber on fourside for a while? WEE!
You can find a near complete frame listing here: http://www.angelfire.com/games5/superdoodleman/frames.html
Only thing missing for many of the moves is shield stun and frame advantage. But those are on the less important side, for the most part. As far as strats and things, the best thing I can tell you for Falco is to just look for vids. Falco is a pretty complicated character, and you need some visual aid sto get started. You can find pretty much every smash vid ever made on our DC++ hub. Directions on how to set up DC++ and get to the hub can be found at smashboards.com in its respective thread in the Melee Discussion.
Except that the peach bomber has been banned for stalling purposes for a good 8 months, and Fourside has been a banned stage for nearly a year and a half.
SSBM players are whiny 12yr olds. banning levels is the gayest thing ever. yoshi 64 is banned because of cloud camping. wtf? let him camp. what is he gonna do? if its a stock match it doesnt matter. hyrule and termina are banned b/c faster characters can run around and not fight the whole time. WTF?! if they run around, then how are they supposed to win? fighting games are SUPPOSED to be about developing strats to different situations.
SSBM players are whiny 12 yr olds.
since you donât know what you are talking about i will try to explain it. first the cloud camping. all a player would have to do is get a stock lead and head to the cloud. now letâs do what you suggest and âlet him campâ. alright! you lose. now letâs do the opposite head to the cloud and fight. now the player in the lead makes the cloud disappear when you get there. you both die, but the player still has a stock advantage and repeats the process. alright! you lose.
now hyrule. fox hits you with ONE laser, then runs. if time runs out winner is determined by who has less stock/percent. if you are at the top fox runs to the bottom, when you run to the bottom he runs to the top. if you donât chase, fox doesnât run.
lets money match on hyrule ANY amount, my fox vs whoever you want. MLG ruleset. oh you donât accept⌠doesnât suprise me.
Isnât stock game last man standing? So who cares how long he camps? Now for a timed game, yeh that sucks. But I lose timed games, because I ninja kills.
In tournaments, itâs common for Timed Stock matches. Nowadays, itâs 4 stock and between 7-11 minutes time. Why do this? Tournaments need to end sometime. Compared to other fighting games, each individual match takes a tremendous amount of time. And since youâll more than likely be playing best 2 of 3, it adds up. Now, if time was off, and you were pitted against a camper, they could camp 20 minutes away just to piss off the other player and disconcert him. And then thereâs still a match or two to go after that to complete the set. It just end up taking WAY too long. Putting a time limit prevents the matches from lasting forever, but also encourages camping because now thereâs an actual reason to camp. Thus, the stages with the easiest possibilities for camping are banned. Thereâs still some slight camping problems, but for now thatâs been majorly solved and is far less a viable tactic than it was before. Chances are good that you wonât see any campers if you were to attend an upcoming tourney.

I just thought that I could add a bit more to your postâŚ
First and foremost, there is one thing you must know in order to play bowser, and expect to beat anyone in the history of ever:
L-cancel anything, and everything, no matter what. Though this is a bit redundant as compared to the rest of the thread, it is absolutely critical for a good bowser game. Without doing so, you could even fall prey to the weeniest of Pichus.
With âcaptain obviousâ out of the way, we can move on.
Fairs: shorthop, fastfall, LC, continually. At low %'s you can almost juggle certain characters.
When youâre bowser, trading blows is ALWAYS a good thing. Against fox/falcoâs recoveries, counter with a smash(Dsmash works well on fastfallers, duh.) Donât be afraid to use Bair vs. a smack-happy sheik, as these moves have similar effects if you sweetspot the Bair, and provided with bowserâs weight(and if you LC), you can maybe catch up before sheâs back.
Koopaâs forward-B has already been mentioned. I must encourage you to abuse it from the air as much as possible- itâs slow, laggy, and range-less on the ground; itâs good for catching people off-guard when used from the air, and is practical to throw immediately after grabbing(though the Klaw âbiteâ is stronger then hitting them in a normal grab, the suprise factor is much more useful then a few extra %). Another dirty trick is to, while recovering, grab the enemy off the edge and take them down with you(a la kirby Back-throw), or to attempt to throw them -forwards-, so that they hit the bottem of the stage and bounce straight down.(think battlefield for example, not FD).
Domikaze- I highly disagree with your statement pertaining to Bowserâs Fsmash(mainly the âstay awayâ part). First of all, it is too powerful to ignore: fully charged(like thatâs gonna happen), it can KO 3/4 of SSBMâs characters from 30%+ damage. The focal point of this move is bowserâs head- that means that whichever angle the head hits you at, you fly out at that angle(meaning, theoretically, you could âspikeâ with it. Unproven though, I think) Thereâs also a little bit of a disjointed-hit-box associated with the âdustâ that surrounds bowserâs head a few frames after the actual hit(which seems to deal less knockback, but itâs there)
There is also what is known as the âbowser trainâ. This is just a big fancy name for âwave-smashingâ for bowser. WD back instead of say, sheild-grabbing a laggy aerial, and Cstick a Fsmash at the same time.
the Bair sweetspots kinda like a tipper ie: hit with the very tips of his spikes.
If close to the edge, try a Downthrow then either chase their tech with a dash-A(it even hits if they didnât tech), and juggle with Utilt to Usmash; or, if they tech back to you, Dsmash. Itâs also just plain fun to let bowser have his way with his enemy of choise.
Learn to shfflc Uairs, mainly for use in platformed levels. Dreamland 64 features platforms perfectly arranged for abusing this move(another one not to be ignored, like the Fsmash: itâs just too powerful)

⌠ this is where Iâve gotten almost all of my info. yay me. Go decadent.
Well, my post was assuming you already were L-Cancelling every move, but I guess I should have still mentioned it considering it may not be something familiar with much of this board.
And Decadent⌠has some eccentric views on Bowser. Heâll definitely have far better strats than I, but he overrates Bowser by far.
Some say eccentricity is the mark of a geniusâŚ

Decadent One is pretty cool, although he used to say that you suck if you donât like to use items. He knows how to use Bowser thatâs for sure.
I was joking, but you knew that, right?
I knew that, but other readers may not have.
SHL is completely needed for a good falco, but is useless if youâre only using it as a âprojectileâ. I put SHL into 3 different categories: advancing, retreating, and interrupting,
Advancing: You should learn how to gain the most horizontal distance possible with your SHL. Be able to jump-cancel your dash quickly, and learn the exact fastfall frame/timing. In an ideal world, everytime you SHL, you should be able to clear the 3 yellow blocks in the middle of Yoshiâs island. You can eventually learn to slop running -at all- as far as using it to get around.
Learn to keep distance by dashing away and firing at the following enemy to slow them down, without loosing too much of your own speed.
Interrupting: Say someone is using a high-lag move, or is charging up a smash. Instead of running in and hoping they donât get it off, SHL them and abuse them with a Fsmash of your own upon landing. Other good examples of combos are SHL to dtilt, Fsmash, grabs(and follow-up combos), and Shineâ>aerial or shine-jumpcancel-FF-Dair-LC-Shine-JC⌠etc. Learn to get in quick with a SHL, combo it, and get out.
A good strat to add to your SHLing is to switch it up with shfflc Nairs. If you can Nair as fast as you can SHL, then you can easily intimidate people getting back up from the edge, or laying prone.
Keep the lasers flying :karate:
Or nerd ass dorks.
NO ITEMS 1 V 1 !
Man fuck that you fucking dork ass faggots ! The game is a MELEE, A MELEE ! Not a one on one turtle fest. FUCK.
OH the items make it random, BLAH BLAH BLAH, turn off the Tomato!
WAH WAH WAH.
I never knew how gay SSBM could be until I went to an anime convention last summer. EVERYONE either picked Roy/Marth/Link/Samus or Fox, everyone was all âOMG !!!â when I picked Ice Climbers and almost won everytime I played. âHE USED THE L STICK ! HE CHEATS !â No dumbass, the L Stick is there for a reason. Suck my dick.
They were all bitching when I was like âWhy arenât there items ?â
THEY MAKE IT RANDOM, THEY MAKE IT UNBALANCED !!! OMG !!! WAH WAH WAH ! Man they make the DAMN GAME FUN.
The nerds actually wanted to play 1 v 1 on final destination. THAT SHITâS NOT FUN. WTF, OMG that shows skill, no that shows that you sat in your basement and practiced bootleg garbage doesnât work when you fight in the game the way it was designed to play and complain when people play the game the way it was designed because you canât do your wavedash bullshit.
The worst was this bowser kid, he sat there and bragged how he was the best bowser player ever, blah blah blah I will win, blah blah blah, I play 1 v 1 and I can do everything.
We played, he lost in like 5 seconds.
Smash brothers is the best when you play time, play 3-5 minutes with all the damn items at normal level. Bam instant fun. If people want to be gay and hide on clouds just ban them from playing.
The only cool people I remember at Otakon were this one guy who looked JUST like Dave Chappelle who played a MEAN Jigglypuff, he was my super cool teammate and we killed mad fools.
Then the other was the guy who played sexual chocolate Dr Mario.
If I play again at Otakon this year I will play as Donkey Kong and Ice Climbers and have fun not gay it up with turtle wiener tactics or runaway bullshit. DONKEY PUNCH !! DONKEY SUICIDE !!
That entire post just goes to show how little you actually know of the gameâŚ
People that actually make an effort to play the game donât turtle or camp all things to hell. Camping/turtling is practically extinct on any form of competitive level. Why? Because itâs simply not effective! So many ways around it, and not enough backups.
Despite however you may believe the game was created to play, competitive players play it how weâve found it best to be played. 1v1 matches are obviously above FFA because the point is to test the ability between two individuals. This goes along with why items are turned off. Despite whatever you say, items are a severe random factor. Even on very low and strictly chosen items, items completely FUCK UP matches. And having items around is what ENCOURAGES this severe turtling that you speak of. All that you need to do is pick a fast character like Fox, and simply run away for the entire match scouting for items. You can win a match without even connecting a single of his normal attacks. Severely takes away from any showing of skill. Imagine playing 3s or SFA3 with items that will sometimes fall. Same reason. If you still want to play with items, then fine, play with items. But youâll find at whatever next tournament that youâll be the only one WAH WAHing for them.
And Iâm not even gonna touch on the comment about FD. If you canât see why a stage like FD is good, you shouldnât play the game ever again. And this âbootleg garbageâ that you speak of, guess what? It does work. Thatâs why itâs practiced. But from what youâve said, I wouldnât expect you to know the difference between a true combo and rapidly tapping A with fox or shiek.
And finally, thereâs a reason why there was such general ignorance at Otakon. Nobody good was there. All you were playing against were neighborhood scrubs that know little more about the game than whatâs necessary to beat a level 9 computer.
Not to mention he is doing more whining in his one post then any SSBM players ever do. Ironic how he is whining about whining. Too funny!
shrug If you want to play a 1 v 1 game with no items play Street Fighter.
Smash Brothers is a 4 player game WITH items. OH THEY MAKE IT RANDOM !! No shit, the items are random, which is why itâs fun.
Itâs like buying madden and then turning off all the rules and trying to play it like Blitz, itâs just stupid. Just play fucking blitz.
And I never play âTournament Levelâ Smash Brothers, if such a joke of thing exists. Have fun playing Smash Brothers learning Wave Dashes and combos that only work when you play 1 v 1 on the flat boring stage.
Iâll have fun playing with all the items with four other people on the Zelda Stage with the turtle and have fun, playing the game it the way it was meant to be played. Not the neutered âskill basedâ version that you guys brag about being good at.
playing Smash Bros without items, is like playing CVS2 without roll cancelling, 3rd strike without parry or A3 without V-ism combos. You just donât do itâŚ
