Yes. Yes it does. :lovin:
White Jungle? If memory serves me correct that’s Shadow’s Forest run stage right? lol It’s practically an instrumental itself save for the barely coherent ramblings of some guy in the background who sounds like he’s trying to channel the forest itself.
‘shadow don’t make me upseeeet…shadow don’t make me upseeeeeet’
No I don’t have an instrumental to that level unfortunately…and looking around I don’t think one exists. Instead how about an instrumental of Shadow’s theme?
It’s pretty intense IMO. Love all the different ways this song breaks down and just seems to dip into chaos lol.
yeah SA had some reeeally good music and the nods to Gen Sonic 3d blast were great to hear.
Comparisons
WZ9XcWiaWvQ"]The Air (Windy Valley) from SA vs. [3r1S8Wzlkq4"]Twinkle Cart (Twinkle Park) from SA](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOEOg3Xmtdo"[/media) vs.
I can’t remember any other nods that the game had off the top of my head but SA’s soundtrack was great…which somehow confuses me since back then reviewers were enjoying the style of music that the sonic games had then around Heroes they started taking a couple of sips of Haterade on anything in the games that had guitar it seemed.
yyyup…that’s Richard Jacques for ya. Nice to see that he’s returning to the games after some time. I JUST now found out that Bioware actually got him to do some of the music for Sonic Chronicles…that explains a lot of the reason why anytime I recognized a track it was something from 3d blast. If it’s one thing I know is gonna be awesome in BK it’s going to be the music.
:shake: @ Sonic R’s music. I admit it’s catchy lol…but at the same time I was playing the game I was like… ‘O.o? traveling back in time? but what about the race!? This has nothing to do with the race!’ Didn’t know that the tracks had instrumentals though.

Also for my preference between Acts in 3k:
Angel island act 2
Hydrocity Zone act 2
Marble Garden act 1
Carnival Night act 2 (especially the way how it seems like it’s playing around with the different parts)
Ice Cap act 2 (the build up and then the different parts play separately before you get it all together…I dig it)
Launch Base act 1
Mushroom Hill act 2
Flying Battery Act 2
Sandopolis Act 1
Lava Reef Act 1
Death Egg Act 2
I’ll drop a Top 10 Sonic tracks myself, and with no particular order!
- Crisis City (Sonic 06) [Only good thing from that game was some of its music]
- The Palace That Was Found (Sonic and the Secret Rings) [heard the music, didn’t play the game lol]
- Robotnik 2nd Boss Battle (Sonic 3D Blast Genesis)
- Chaos Angel Act 1 (Sonic Advance 3)
- Bingo Highway (Sonic Heroes)
- G.U.N. Fortress (Shadow the Hedgehog)
- Final Fortress (Sonic Heroes)
- Panic Puppet Act 2 (Sonic 3D Blast Genesis)
- Egg Wyvern Theme (Sonic 06)
- Cosmic Fall (Shadow the Hedgehog)
HOWEVER, since I also like a LOT of Sonic themes, I’ll add on some more of my faves:
-Sonic R tracks [Catchy as all heck!]
-Knuckles’s Rap (Sonic Adventure)
-Scrap Brain Zone (Sonic 1)
-Knuckles Stage Raps (Sonic Adventure 2)
Really, I like a LOT of non-listed-on-my-list tracks!
I’ve been spending a lot of time with Sonic Riders Zero Gravity lately. I really wish this game had online play. The variety of Gears makes for a lot of fun. There are many very distinct Gears that require totally different styles of play, and clever use of their abilities to really maximize their potential. For anyone wanting to gather all the Gear quickly, forget the money-maker Gears (Wanted, Gambler, Bingo Star). The fastest way to clean out the shop is playing one of the Ring-collection missions repeatedly. 250+ Rings in one lap is much better.
Super Sonic is actually not so bad in this game, much better than in the first Riders. Slower Ring consumption rate below 50 Rings compared to the first game, has the ability to buy a permanent Magnetic Shield as a part, and goes into an extra-fast attack mode above 50 Rings. They took away his having all types though; seems to only have power-type now. The major key to winning with Super Sonic is knowing where the 100 Ring item box is on each course, and only buying the Magnetic Barrier part, don’t waste Rings buying the Ring Cap Up parts.
I thought that MAG sucked hard at first, but I’m starting to find it rather entertaining now. You have to be able to get Rings well, and know exactly where and how to use the Gravity Time part to win. Getting the 100 Ring item box is a big help with this one, so if another racers grabs it first you can be in trouble.
Reserve Tank is another fun one similar to MAG. You have to know exactly when and where to unleash each part to really get the most out of it.
Throttle can also be deadly if you get good upgrade Parts, but conversely it can bite you in the ass and give you shitty ones too. The randomness is part of the fun with this Gear.
Moving away from the unorthodox Gears, a speed-type character using Advantage S is insanely good. Any Yacht Gear in general seems really good as well.
Can anyone tell me what Angel/Devil actually does though? I’ve tried it, but I don’t really see the point. Also any Gear that has Durability Up… what does that actually do?
Here’s that Sonic music compilation I put together.

I love like, most of Sonic’s music. So this is like differentiating between how shiny gold is for me. If I could figure out a place for Sonic CD’s JP OST, I would.
Remy: Man, if only :. I’d love online play in Sonic Riders 2.
Not what I meant; I already have the OST itself. I meant in my Top 10. I love the whole OST, but I wouldn’t call them my favorite out of all the games ever.
I appreciate the thought, though. I am all for spreading the love of that awesome OST.
Good times. Thanks Reggie.
EDIT: This has reminded me of a lot of good stuff I had all but forgotten. Door Into Summer from S3&K’s multiplayer is one I hadn’t heard in a while. Midnight Greenhouse from Knuckles’ Chaotix is great as well (although Speed Slider is still my favorite from that game).
What Gears do you like using?
Holy shit! That’s the music that was on the PC version! Haha… so much better than the soundtrack on the Gems Collection version of CD.
I haven’t played Sonic Riders 2 in one long ass time, so I remember none of the names and am hazy in general about it :.
I like to use Amy on the flying broom type gear (the one I do remember!) and the other two were Eggman and Silver. Silver I used the gear that could transform into any type via upgrading. Eggman I used one of the higher tier Power bikes. I forget which one, unfortunately.
Oh characters! I primarily use Tails and Blaze. Sometimes Shadow, Knuckles, or NiGHTS.
I just kinda pair characters and gears together as a ‘main’ XD. I can see playing just the gears because the character stats and types don’t really matter all that much in the end. The gears are far more significant.
The thing I miss most from Sonic Riders 1 was Ulala. She was my main, through and through. I’d use her if she were in 2.
Characters make somewhat of a difference. For example, combining Untouchable with a speed character results in something that can’t corner, and you will very probably lose. But Untouchable + flight character can corner, and is actually pretty good. But for the most part, yeah, there isn’t a huge difference from one to the next.
And I’m really sorry to disagree with you, but I hated Ulala in Riders 1. She was so big compared to the other characters, it just looked ridiculously awkward. Not to mention I never liked space Channel 5 in the first place.
lava reef, S&K
It’s a little late coming, but here’s my Top 10 favorite Sonic tunes from the classic series.
No particular order…
- Green Hill Zone (Sonic 1)
- Star Light Zone (Sonic 1)
- Scrap Brain Zone (Sonic 1)
- Oil Ocean Zone (Sonic 2)
- Boss Battle (Sonic 2)
- Angel Island Zone Act 1 (Sonic 3)
- Ice Cap Zone Act 1 (Sonic 3)
- Flying Battery Zone (Sonic 3 & Knuckles)
- Sky Sanctuary Zone (Sonic 3 & Knuckles)
- Doomsday Zone (Sonic 3 & Knuckles)
I’ll be back with more, including honorable mentions from Sonic CD.
Reggie, which game is this one titled “South Island ~ Lovers” from? I don’t recognize it, and it is badass.
I guess being a huge Space Channel 5 fan is part of it. The other part was her playstyle. She played a lot like a Speed version of that broom gear in 2 with incredible top speed and horrible turning. I adapted and just gave it to Amy.
That’s from Sonic the Fighters, I believe. I thought it sounded dope so I had to toss it in. :lovin:
Oh yeah, now that you mention it. It was the theme for Amy Rose’s stage.
I just got to what I believe is the last stage of Sonic Chronicles…like the fact that I hear a small remix of the Final Boss music from 3k. Hoping to finish this game tonight.
