I hate these “here is how to fix sonic” lists. DUH. everyone knows how to fix sonic. stop pointing it out, it becomes more painful each time its repeated.
What I hate even more is that it inevitably boils down to “ZOMG I want to run fast!” If you just want to go fast, hop in your car and hope the cops aren’t watching. To be perfectly honest, the last two games, secret rings and unleashed, have shown significant improvement and so I have confidence that the next one will be good if not better.
Sonic Unleashed is fun, I personally like it, and the werehog stages aren’t that bad, heck even the camera isn’t being a bitch!
Most of that guy’s ideas suck. First-person perspective? Bullet time? Fixed lanes? Fuck that shit.
Daytime levels in Unleashed worked really well. Keep that again for the next one, and improve upon it.
Man, I am still waiting for the PS3 version. I wish I could play the 360 one. I have been watching vids of people s-ranking it on the daytime levels and it looks awesome in action. The music in certain stages are athmospheric. I like that. I own the ps2 one, and the judging from the vids, the 360 version has way better level designs. The PS2 one sometimes feels like I am in a racing game with those broad tracks. Still love my PS2 version.

Is Sonic Unleashed better than, or as fun as, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction? If it’s a yes or a close no then I’ll consider getting the PS3 version when it drops. Otherwise I’ll just have to check it out later sometime.
Don’t get me wrong, I fucks with Sonic tough. But money is too tight right now to be buying any non-quality titles.

Instead of thinking up a new second gimmick like that guy did with first-person and the like…just remove the second gimmick completely and make the whole game like the daytime levels. Put that other shit into the Chaos Emerald minigames or something, where they belong.
And there you go, Sonic is fixed.

It’s pretty much all been covered in this thread already. It’s a fun game that shows a lot of improvement over previous 3D Sonic titles. Werehog stages annoy some people, but others are okay with them. If graphics are your thing, the PS360 version looks pretty. If you want a good story though, look elsewhere.
Comparisons to another game are too subjective TBH. Like I enjoyed R&CF just fine, but it wasn’t my favorite game ever by any means. I like Sonic Unleashed better. Many other people on this site alone would disagree with me.
I still need to find Unleashed. I heard it doesnt’ yet have a PS3 release :(.
I saw vids of the daytime stages and they look amazing. Literally the best of all 3 styles (Rails/Secret Rings, 3D/Adventure, Classic) all in one seamless flow.
