Damn I think I just pee’d my pants…SorR (Streets of Rage Remake fyi) 5.0 bout to come out and now this? Im waiting on a nigga to hit up the HD Shinobi 3 PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!
Damn somebody post more metal variations of the Sonic music
Fixed.
Jae hoons elitist attitude rears it’s ugly head once again LOL. While I agree those other sonics are not on sonic2’s level, IMO sonic3 was so gdlke I can’t fault someone for liking it better then s2 it had so much going for it especially for it’s time.
Because s2’s level design+music is a combo that no game can beat even s3 can’t top it but to be fair s3 was nearly as good as s2 IMO.
Any new updates on the game? I went to ny comic con this year and at the sonic comics booth they had a cardboard cutout of sonic and the werewolf standing next to each other, so I asked the editor what he could tell me bout the game but all he said was sonic will be able to change into the werewolf form in game once his meter’s full:confused:
Bullet points from the Play magazine interview:
-
The producer for the title is Akinori Nishiyama and art director is Sachiko Kawamura.
-
Hashimoto stresses there is no connection gameplay-wise with Sonic and the Secret Rings at all, you’ll be able to freely wonder about the environment.
-
Voiceovers have been recorded in December last year
-
Side-scrolling and full 3D exploration is about half and half.
-
Story plays no connection to other Sonic games
-
Loading times will be minimized
-
It’s another solo Sonic game and the story focuses on his travel around the world.
-
Not just speed but slower paced platforming sections
-
The town areas/adventure fields appear again as hub areas that connect the action stages together and the story is advanced through the towns people, however he adds that he knows that Sonic is first and foremost a action game, and that the town area should not interfere with the tempo of the game but rather “Add color and background to Sonic’s adventure”
-
The new moves for Sonic are not found in towns, rather found in the action stages
-
Aim is not to tell more story then is necessary and let the player focus on the action, but there is a plot to set the stages, they’ve tried to find a balance so that the player can just get back into a action stage once they’ve completed it without having to do some random plot related matter like talk to a towns folk.
-
The structure of the game is different from any other Sonic game, he can’t say too much about it though.
-
Playstation 3/Xbox360 using the “Hedgehog Engine” for good graphics basically, the Wii has other developers working on it to try and get as much power out of it as possible
-
Talk of Wii’s memory limitations
-
As long as there is strong demand, more Sonic and Mario games are set to follow.
-
Dimps designed the stages in the Wii version.
-
It’s looking real hot right now.
I’ll have to agree
Sonic The HedgeHog was by far my favorite of the series I will admit it.
but Sonic 2 made it the series what it is
sure Sonic 3 had a lil more to offer, but Sonic 2 was better overall
I personally found Sonic 3 along with Sonic and Knuckles to be a lil unbalanced as far as the design was concerned and it didnt have as much pizzaze as the first two. But back to Sonic 2, everything balanced out, the soundtrack was amazing, the level design was amazing and you had two player mode, we got super sonic, all that jazz.
Sonic 2 is the highlight of the series, you can’t get any better than the slot machines in Casino Night.
That’s the Gospel Truth!
That 2 player mode in S2 is really underrated. It shits all over S3/S3Ks one.
Wurd Up!
That shit is almost as entertaining as SSB IMO
Sonic CD sucked, I dunno why everyone says its one of the best games around! (Especially since the game goes Game Over on you if you idle for THREE minutes…)
And despite its glitchiness, I LOVED S3&K.
As for this new game, I am a little indifferent towards it.
Holyshit it sounds like SA3 AKA one of my dream games:sweat::rock::tup::hitit:
Other than the 2P mode in Sonic 2 I have not the slightest clue of what you are talking about. The levels in Sonic 2 feels bland if you compare them to the sonic 3 ones both in difficulty, graphics and sound. With that said Death Egg is a beast.
I hope the wii version isnt some dumbed down/completely different version with waggle controls. I know its going to be though.
Anyone played that Sonic hack called Sonic Megamix? Its quite challenging if you’re up to it.
i want an mp3.
hot! more power to those guys and MAYBE Sega will recognize what they’re doing an hire em to release it or something to put on XBLA or something. Gonna try to make that gif my new avatar…
you want em!?

phew…X.X
…sounds good sounds goooood…but I REFUSE to fall for it this time!..>.>…and I’ll probably end up buying the game 1st day anyway…lol
disagree…Sonic cd didn’t suck…it was different…very. It was the first sonic game to sort of change Robotnik’s sprite, was the first time that they introduced ‘crazy legs magee’ sonic (when his legs do that crazy ass figure 8 looking motion that I STILL don’t get how the hell he’s doing that…even when I slowed down Smash bros. brawl and watched the animation I was still going ‘wtf!?’ and I also secretly wish that some of the later sonic games besides triple trouble had the Peel Out…I loved it!), the music was awesome and insanely different than most sonic music…even today the soundtrack for this game stands out, and the animation intro…oh man that intro lol. I still can’t believe that supposedly the same people who did that intro were the same people who did the animation for the Sonic the hedgehog movie…cause it definitely felt lacking a bit compared to the cd animation…that’s my 2 cent though. Do I think sonic was higher than 2 or 3k? Not in particular but it’s pretty high up there on my list. Also…the whole 3 minute thing in Sonic cd fit Sonic’s character…I wouldn’t expect him to sit there and wait for me lol.
As for the s2 vs 3k discussion…that’s such a tough call to make for me but the more I look back on things the more I’ve realized that I’ve gone back and played 3k at least 5 times more than s2. Probably because of several reasons. Hyper Knux, Super Knux, Hyper Sonic, and Super Tails were all fuckin broke…the most broke IMO being Hyper Sonic with his ‘kill everything on the screen’ flash that also gives him a speed boost…and despite that it was fun just blasting through the levels with them. 3k had more a variety in stage design that gave you a choice on whether you wanted to explore it or blast through it all while keeping a relative good pace. If you explored you got the emeralds. If not, you blew through the stages. Something that I miss from 3k were the different shields and the special abilities that sonic used with each of them…and yes I know the lightning shield shows up every so often in the other series…but it just doesn’t feel the same. Tails was a hell of a lot more useful in 3k than s2…even going so far as needing him for a boss battle. 3k also marked the first time that many sonic fans became fans of Jun Senoue’s sound before Crush 40 was introduced…that may not be a plus for some but that is for me. Michael Jackson controversy is funny. I could probably list more but I’ve already made this post retardedly long so I’ll stop here.
The Wii version better not have different levels and stupid controls.
That’s like saying mlg better not make a bullshit ruleset for every popualr shooter.
Why must they do that though? I can’t afford a PS3 right now.
Download as .flv or .mp4 using KeepVid.com then convert it into MP3.
@Sonichuman- Are those Project Chaos’ music? Cuz if so I DLed all of them.
Apparently the Wii just can’t handle teh awesome Hedgehog Engine. Betting the Wii version is Sonic Rush on crack or Sonic and the Secret Rings v1.5.
Speaking of SatSR I’m gonna go and buy it soon. What do you guys think of it?
