But watching the gameplay video, it already looks like a hybrid of Sonic Rush on crack + SatSR v1.5. And I thought High Voltage already proved that Wii can output the same visually quality as 360. Besides, since when has SEGA been above dummying the graphics down for the lowest specs? PS2 didn’t get an alternate version of Sonic Heroes from the GC/X-Box version.
As for SatSR, it was… okay, IMO. There were a lot of interesting concepts and really, the tilt feature worked well enough. It’s worth a playthrough at least if you are a Sonic fan. And it looks nice visually too. However, there are some blind corners here and there, the story is downright inane, and the music is annoying, with each level seeming to have the same little segment on a 20 second loop. Also, a lot of the “levels” are just little tracks that loop, meaning you will spend quite a bit of time basically replaying the same level, but with different objectives like “don’t get hit” or “finish within X amount of time.” That’s not really a bad thing per se, in many ways it is reminiscent of the A, B, C badges from Sonic Adventure or the extra objectives in Adventure 2. Just thought I would point it out.
Worst thing, though. I cannot in any manner describe the massive levels of hatred I had for the jump implementation. You have to charge your jump before jumping. Yes, you read that correctly. In a game built around speed and twitch reaction times, you have to spend about 1-2 seconds (depending upon skill setup) charging your jump before you can perform one. The lack of an instant jump was infuriating to no end.
yes some of those are…thought I mentioned that in the post to make sure to let ya know which ones came from project chaos or not
=D…‘DINO…IT’S A JUNGLE…DINO…THE WICKED WILD!!!’ LMFAO…corniest track on there…but I liked just about everything on SatSR’s soundtrack…cept for the one I just mentioned and the multiplayer tracks…My favorite being…
why does sonic music always need to have lyrics now?
Im glad I downloaded the soundtrack to SA1. amazing music in that game.
my favorites: (since lots of music has been posted. whatever) Red Mountain Windy Hill Twinkle Park Casinopolis (this music is just so damn SMOOTH! Speed Highway. this music gets me pumped every single time
here’s a page of some music that’s been posted that may or may not make it to Sonic 2 HD. Some are alright…while others seem to be missing…something…that’s just me though
there’s a forum on ocremix talking about the project…and some people from oc were sort disappointed by what they were hearing so far with the music so some of the project leaders started coming in and defending themselves around page 3 lol…drama?
I’ve been laughing a bit at some of em…but i’m pretty sure he feels more like an ass after discovering they’ve been listening to the wrong tracks this entire time even though they won’t admit it.
The one bit of sonic music that always seems to be in my head is Carnival Night Zone from sonic 3. i don’t know why but i’ve alwasy wanted to remaster it and add lyrics.
Mushroom Hill zone also haunts me. i don’t know why but hearing it, the words “oooh you dirty rotten crook” always poped into my head.
Oh shit sorry man, must’ve missed it ^_^;;;;;;;;
Well gonna go DL them:tup: @Biolink- I read that the ppl that were gonna work with MJ on the music of Sonic 3 & Knuckles did stay to work on it but not MJ cuz of the whole child molestation thing.
Yuji didn’t leave till relatively recent if I remember correctly…by about 4-5 years ago…checks to make sure…yeah prope was started in 2006…and supposedly the soldiers in Shadow the hedgehog even make a mention of him…which I had forgotten all about. So no…Yuji is not absolved from Shadow the Hedgehog. If memory serves me correct he left around the time Sonic 2006 was being made…coincidence? lol
Edit:
Pretty sure most of us have already seen this…but it’s still find this weird/crazy even today lol

The only thing Sonic 2 really has over Sonic 3K is the 2p mode. Otherwise 3k easily wins. Longer, has “story”, added depth to gameplay, more zones (which is part of being longer I realize, but ups diversity of where you go), better special stages and special stage system, a save feature, more characters playable that are actually also different.
The only reason someone would like 2 better is just that it came first, in which case you might as well go with the original game since it predated all of them, and then go back further and just pick mario over sonic, and then pick pac man because he came before all of them.
As to Shadow, it’s so stunning to me how the ball was dropped so badly with him. He has great character design, interesting backstory, interesting powers, and probably the best voice actor next to Liquid Snake, and they just repeatedly fail to execute this. Shadow the Hedgehog is an unplayable horrible game, when it should have been the type of game that really launched a new type of game in the Sonic world. Shadow should have been more of an exploration type game, the guy loves architecture, you figure he’d like solving puzzles and stuff. He’s also supposed to have powers, and he should definitely be able to use them to do more than just smash into things. Shadow should have been a game like DMC. Instead…man what the hell was that.
Again, the character design, voice acting and everything else are always on point for the guy. Sega just needs to give him a good game and get creative with the powers and the gameplay. And creative doesn’t mean give him a gun. If they wanted to give him a projectile, why not just give him some sort of energy ball or beam.
Shadow really doesn’t need a weapon…He can lift a fuckin bus…and even without an emerald he can use chaos control in a limited way. It’s sort of like giving the Flash a gun…
That’s why it was so dumb. Shoulda had the dude using his powers and just fleshing the action part out a bit, instead of making it a platform type game with guns. It would differentiate from Sonic too, you’d have two IPs that way that are different.
What is the point of giving a character powers when you are just going to ignore them? Why make him a game where he is just Sonic except with guns, which is just plain retarded? What the hell was Sega thinking? The whole option branch thing lends itself to a different type of game.
