Shoryuken xx Shinkuu-Hadouken sounds pretty damn beastly to me. Just a curious not to people who have played with Ryu thus far, because I want know, but how does he fair at this point in time against the entire SF:IV cast?

i already stated that a good ryu game can beat anyone in SF4 so far. i got a pretty decent ryu and i just got off a 20+ win streak an hour ago.

Ryu is always good as long as system gimmicks don’t outweigh the importance of solid fundamentals. Even in games where he isn’t top tier, people still win tournaments with him.

well if for some wacky reason you use s.fierce as an anti air, you can follow it up.

Maybe he thinks ultras land a bit too easily?
From what I heard, it takes some timing, and/or a dash cancel, so it takes practice and a bit of meter. Not a bad tradeoff for a punish though, especially if it doesn’t take too much effort to link that Cr.mk > Srk > Shinkuu > Metsu.
Now that’s something to be scared of when Ryu’s got full meter
Looks to me like Ultras do less damage if you have more life then your opponent, as well as if your revenge meter isnt completly full.
Also not all of the ultras are going to be wasy to land. 
Well true, and Ryu needs something to set him apart. I mean Ken’s gotten all the attention, and a wife, so I think Ryu deserves to be able to link up an ultra after SRK
