I’m contemplating going out tonight to get the game. I just don’t want to line up in the cold like I’m sure some people are. On the flip side, I can play the game all morning before I head to class (and even then, I’ll still be playing the game as my work for the week is done).
Got the game. Got it much quicker than I thought. Installing it now…
I restarted a new game + for ME2 a while back, and didn’t realize it’d completely overwrite my completed ME2 save file. Now I have to play the the entire game all over again just to get a completed save file for ME3–been trying to do it on Insanity mode, and it’s pretty frustrating.
I think at this point, I may want to just play the game on easy and get it over with so I can get a save file ASAP. Ugh.
If you’re running the PC version you can go to http://www.masseffect2saves.com/index.php and download a character to import. Saves you time from replaying the previous games.
Recruit
[details=Spoiler]
I’m at the Citadel’s hospital. Good to see and recruit Dr. Chakwas again. Classy lady.[/details]
i’m going to bully everyone into going my team…i think i’m going to do a renegade run this time…i was paragon for the first and second games.
Wow…that was unexpected.
Latest recruit
Spoiler
EDI took over Eva’s body and is now part of my squad? I wonder if you can romance her…
I’m tempted to hold off playing until I know a few things.
Like, ME2 had a point of no return with the IFF mission, where if you finished it, it set off a “timer” for the endgame events. If you went in blind and hadn’t finished certain side missions by then, you’d guarantee losing some squad members and some of your crew.
Thumbing through the strategy guide before I headed to work
ME3
[details=Spoiler] Okay so apparently those leaked ending are actually one of like 4 scenarios of endings that can happen depending on some key things.
- Doing missions and gaining your crews trust
- Doing the N7 missions
3.Unfortunately having to do the co-op in order to gain more merit points to recruit more species
So pretty much doing all plus some other stuff that i’ll put up later gets you the best scenario where you save Earth and Shepherd is alive[/details]
hmmm, five hours in i had to swap the disc…
I think the combat is much improved in terms of intensity. I’m witnessing several moments where enemies come in from all sides, with bullets flying everywhere. I can only imagine how much tougher it is on the higher difficulty levels.
So I heard you can’t get the best ending unless you play multiplayer. Is this true?
while playing my ME2 run, i noticed something that i hope gets addressed in ME3 (haven’t purchased it yet)
can you talk to any hanar? and do they have any good reactions to the DLC character?
I asked the same thing in this thread, and was told it isn’t, but playing multiplayer helps in some way. In-game, there are some stats related to multiplayer which will probably raise the war effort in single player.
ey yo what the fuck, fuck banshees
That is fucking retarded.
GGs and it was not your connection Weeks, it was still doing that after you left. And yeah Banshees are fucking dumb, I hit a Banshee with like 5 Carnage shots, 4 grenades, and 3 clips off an Assault Rifle and her Armor went down 0 pct. After that happened I was like yeah I need a break that is some bullshit.
I did get that clutch acouple times today though. Especially the game before we joined Reth. Stealth headshots ftw. I promoted my Infiltrator as well, so now it is back to Level 1. I do not actually know if this does anything though.
Banshee so far are just dumb. You can’t Charge them because they will grab you out of it. If you fight them up close they grab you or use their Tech Armor which has a huge AOE. If you run and try to pop shots, they just biotic dash towards you.
Reth: I noticed you used the Asari Vanguard for a bit, was she any good?
Also GGs to Reth and Pun.
Hmmmm…this player thing is going to slow down my campaign time…at least you only have to complete like 20 missions to fully raise the war readiness % to 100
honestly sounds like a chore. my mistrust in ea = spot on.
Whos ready for yearly sequels, prequels, and gaidens?
Just to answer the thing about “do I need Multiplayer to get the best ending?” Casey Hudson flat out said “everything you could achieve to getting the best ending with Multiplayer, you can get through purely doing Single Player”, so hope that helps.
