No Rose main in AE can get top 8 at a North American major. And I’m only talking Rose ALL the way.

Keshikaran’s done super good in tournaments with Rose. That’s Japan, though. I think he got top 4 in the official Capcom tournament a couple months ago.
Mid/low tier characters are underrated in this game. Even if this game has ridiculous quirks, the character balance is not bad at all. There are no 8-2 matchups and even the worst characters have only a couple 3-7s. It’ll be better in 2012. I think the problem is that the top players gravitate towards the “better” characters, so mid-tier characters are seen as not viable and incapable of going far in a tournament. Didn’t Momochi just win SB with Cody?
That said, yeah, it’s too hard for Rose in this edition, purely for the fact that her worst matchups are dive kick characters, who dominate this iteration of the game.

Louffy plays such a distinct style. Your play is incredibly solid, never missed a beat. Great reads, and you seem to know every possible outcome and are ready to capitalize. Really really impressive, congratulations!
But Luffy’s amazing and ever been so amazing.
He missed many beats, but the opponent didn’t capitalize.
It’s still lack of match up experience, but those europeans were seemingly AFRAID to attack.
They didn’t punish EX Spiral once, and let Luffy get away with a lot of shit.
With that said, the other players still have no excuse.

If you pay attention to just Rose, of course you see tons of openings, unsafe attacks, punish opportunities, etc. We all know Rose isn’t top tier and against robots she should have lost. But the flow of almost all of the matches was decidedly in his favor. He wasn’t letting them set the pace of the rounds by constantly switching between pressure, blocking and crazy reversals- great reads the entire time. People were afraid to attack because of his play, and not the character, which is really the main thing that won, and the most impressive thing.
His execution was super solid, which is what I meant by not missing beats. When orbs hit he basically always knew the timing to finish combos. Lots of walk forward cr hp combos to punish whiffs, when most people would go for the safe and almost universal cr mp. And great defense, it never seemed like he was floundering or guessing.
Just saying that I was impressed by very specific points, and not just throwing random praise because of the win. Congrats again.
