Yeah, that matchup is hard for Rose if you dont play reactively on what Honda is doing. If Honda make a move, you must react in accordance to it.
Dude i couldn’t have put it better myself. The more I play, the more my style is shifting away from Super Rose(rush down, take damage, activate ultra, and continue pressure) and gearing more towards Lame Rose(shout-outs to SABIN). It seems like Rose’s recovery on her moves forces you to either:

Offense Rose just doesn’t pay out as much in this version. I mean you can go to it in spurts at a time, but you have to get ready to shift gears back to lame rose. I really like how you did that in the second set. You rushed him down hard, going all out with the frame traps and baits. Then, you slowed it down when you had a sizable life lead and let him kill himself. That change in pace was unexpected? Iono. Good shit.

In North America, Rose is generally regarded as garbage tier. The last time I saw a Rose played in a top 16 match in a tournament was when Laugh counterpicked Rose to Mago’s Fei Long and before that I think would have been… Final Round? And I guess Arturo played Rose against Tokido at CEO but generally speaking, I would say North America’s knowledge of advanced Rose tech amongst high level players might actually be fairly low comparatively because Rose is just not a character the majority of our scene pays much attention to. Or at least I should preface that statement by saying that opinion is entirely my own and perfectly subject to being wrong.
It certainly is safe to say that out of all 40 players competing in the international 5 on 5, you will be the only Rose player.

There has not been a SINGLE rose main in NA that has gone far in a tournament outside of shinkuur. Matchup knowledge with her isn’t nil, but like silver rain has said, she’s not regarded that highly so not alot of people respect her tha tmch. There’s also a lot of contempt for the character due to her super incarnation’s broken u2. Outside of her strong spiral strong frametraps, slide strong slide throw frametraps, and good bdash, most people don’t know much else about her.
