Holla dudes. I just moved into Chiba, Matsudo-shi about a month ago. I play a lot at my local 50y arcade, BBCS GGAC AH3 and HnK (A little SF4 when I’m feeling masochistic) , but I’d love to play against some of you dudes and get advice in english, since my Japanese is still really shitty. Do you guys usually play at big arcades around shinjiku and shibuya?
if you want to get some games of GGAC in, I play at Mikado in Takadanobaba just about every weekend
damn dude… commin all the way out from gunma? atleast i just one line to takadanobaba IIRC…
I might see you out there. never been out to the takadanobaba scene b4.
Heh, I go from a small city in Hyogo prefecture to the Kawaramachi/Shijo area of Kyoto like, every weekend. I think eventually you get used to the 3 hour trip if you do it often enough…
yeah if im not mistaken, elvenshadow goes to tokyo every weekend…
Does that mean there are no good arcades in the Kobe area? My mom’s aunt lives there, and I might end up going there whoknowswhen…
And why not Osaka instead of Kyoto? Sorry to be annoying, but Osaka seems closer and I assume they have a good scene there.
Sorry. I’m late to the partyl Just email me at
Me and some experienced guys are gonna be practicing this Sunday. Close to Takadanobaba actually.
I guess because A-Cho is AWESOME.
yea the 3 hour train ride isnt really that bad. sleep… play DS/PSP… have a beer… usually I ride down with a friend too. no big deal.
anyway I will be at Mikado on Friday night from 8 pm if you wanna play some Gear
Kobe has some good arcades. I play all the time in sannomiya but the problem is they don’t always have good people playing AH3 or some of the other more obscure games that I like. Don’t get me wrong, they’re great places, but I generally only go there on the way to Osaka, or on the way back. I rarely just make a day trip to kobe and then head back, tho sometimes I do…the problem with Kobe is that it’s like a mini-Osaka. It’s got a lot of the same things, but just to a lesser degree. If I lived in Osaka, I would actually not really have much of a reason to go to Kobe to play games or go shopping unless there was a tourney or something. But since it’s on the way for me, it’s a nice place.
And i go to Kyoto cause my friend lives in that area (10 min walking to a-cho). I go to Osaka all the time too, tho, but generally I meet up with my friend, eat TGIF, and hang out and then we go somewhere/do something on sat/sun. It’s way cheaper to stay at my friend’s place than it is to get a hotel in Osaka, and way more comfortable than a manga cafe.
Yeah I usually listen to music, play my psp, take a nap etc. I find ways to entertain myself. The bigger pain is usually just when the trains get too crowded and I’m smushed up against a ton of people.
Tho A-cho did just get AH3, making it one of my top 2 favorite arcades ever, along with Athena.
i remember when i used to live in hino-shi (chuo line) i did that everytime i went to shibuya kaikan… but didnt take that long…
power to you man! but the ds/psp + beer on the train is fun enough for met sometimes!
Man…
so how bout dat Monster Hunter?
I’ll try and pop in after my work saturday dependin on where i’m working at!
Taking JLPT N5 in Chicago Tomorrow. Any last minute advice? I’m generally good at taking exams but damn this one has me nervous even though I think I’m good enough to pass it. Sucks that there is so little info available on the new format. I took the practice test on the JPLT website and did alright, missed a couple by going too quick, but still was good enough to pass I think.
Which arcade in tokyo do the blaz blue players play at?
N5 should be no trouble. If you are even mildly dedicated to Japanese language than passing it should be cake. Good luck though.
try Alpha Station in okubo or Mikado in Takadanobaba. I dont really play much BB but they usually have good comp. Game Chariot in Chiba (Goi station) has good players too if you wanna take a little farther of a trip.
thanks youll know why i asked soon.
can you give me directions to alpha stn and mikado? i got hella lost trying to find them… not too good with directions to be honest…
thnx
Mikado is easy enough. Go straight out of Takadanobaba station and turn left. You will see the Astro Boy mural on your right, and a huge pachinko parlor a little way down (not even a block). Turn left at the alley next to the pachinko parlor and walk along the tracks for just a little bit. Mikado will be on the left right before a Lawson’s.
