Man, TRANSFORMERS Rise of the Fallen was good! And even better is the fact you can drink in Japanese Theaters!
Well, the ice cream one is technicalyl the cheapest (8 hours for 1200 yen), but i really like having 10 hours instead of 8. That extra sleep does help.
lol I usually just get 6 hours. Tokyo manga kissas have shitty deals compared to Osaka. I remember the ones I stayed at in Osaka had better prices in general for the time you get
That’s because Osakans are dokechi.
BTW anyone else pick up Blazblue? I’m reaaaaally impressed with the port, aside from the numerous spelling errors…
I think this is my first post in this thread…
Okay, so I’ve been living in Japan for the past 7 months now. I’m currently an AEON teacher at the Yokohama school.
I’ve been having an incredibly hard time making friends. I’m not particularly close to any of my co-workers; I mean, I get along with most of them, but they’re not exactly people I’d want to hang out with outside of work. Many people told me that the best way to meet new friends is through another friend or co-worker. I’ve tried going to a couple of bars and International parties, but to no avail. They’re usually filled with desperate foreigners, who just want a one night stand. I get overshadowed by all of the other foreigners…the fact that I’m very shy doesn’t help either. The way people make friends here is rather annoying IMO…I understand it’s a cultural difference, but how am I supposed to make friends, let alone a girlfriend when I don’t HAVE any friends here to begin with? I mean, I’ve got some acquaintances living in Japan, but we’re not particularly close or anything. It feels a bit awkward to ask them to hang out with me.
So what should I do, SRK? A couple of co-workers suggested that I go to a Goukon (group date). I’m interested, but I’m not sure where I can find more information about it. I asked my co-workers, and they’re not sure either.
I think another disadvantage I have compared to the average foreigner is the fact that I look Japanese (my ethnicity is Korean…but my haircut, and the way I dress is pretty Japanese I suppose). I get mistaken for a Japanese person all the time. Some people envy me for being able to blend in, but I see it as a double edged sword. For one, I don’t have that “foreigner aura”. Everyone here just assumes that I’m Japanese…so often times, such as at parties, I get ignored. What should I do? Should I wear a bunch of American brands, and try to act as American as possible to stand out? Then people will probably think that I’m just a wannabe. Man, being an Asian American in Japan really sucks sometimes.
A couple of you mentioned picking up girls at Starbucks. While this sounds nice, once again, I look pretty Japanese, so I think most girls would just get weirded out, and think I’m a crazy stalker. People that LOOK foreign get that free pass with Japanese girls when they do something out of the ordinary.
On an unrelated note, can you purchase movie tickets online in Japan, like fandango.com in the states? I’m looking to watch the 2nd Evangelion movie this weekend.
a shy korean? now ive heard everything! *harharhar
just kidding
come to the SRK party on sat, details are somewhere in this thread.
Hey forgenjuro. How much does it cost to live in Meguro?
I was thinking of moving there around Feb 2010, just because the Toyokosen is mad convenient.
Keio is there, right. They should have cheap little student dorms, yeah?
I’m Korean/Filipino, and I don’t have any problems making friends here. :X You, my friend, need to get over the shyness. You are shaming your Korean heritage by being shy! WE are not shy people!
i wanna come out on sat! can somebody give me directions/an address?
y2kenjination, you should come drinking sometime in Shinjuku at Rock Inn Current! Great place to meet nice ladies and theres some cool guys there too to chill with.
Also, hit up Mikado in Takadanobaba or Las Vegas Shinjuku sometime and we can play some games (I mostly play GG and am starting to get into BB more now but I can play a little of everything to an extent)
Yeah reno, me and Elvenshadow both got Blazblue. when I went to bed last nite, i was #2 on the leaderboards for XBL. I was #1 at some point, but then i took a break, lol. It’s fun though, but I gotta work on not getting so worked up about losing to stupid shit, haha.
damn stop raping
how’s the netcode?
the netcode is great
my friend Matt is at my apartment right now playing online while im at work… I hope hes not playing too many ranked maches and fucking up my win ratio
Tager is fucking hilarious to use even though I’m a total newb at this game, I was owning other noobs because of his SPD and shit lol. I LOVE Litchi’s design and concept but I doubt I’ll be able to play her well… still I want to try. I really liked Jam in GGXX but I sucked with her too so I had to go with Potemkin, who I hate.
In a month I’ll be studying abroad in Kyoto for a year (First month and a half in Tokyo). Woot :bgrin:
unfortunately i think youre thinking of somewhere else. Meguro does not have Toyokosen or Keio. Maybe your thinking of Shinjuku?
Meguro has the Yamanote, Mita, Nanoboku, and Meguro lines. Meguro is also damn expensive. Its somewhat of a upper-class town.
The new apartment i live in currently would put me back 200000yen per month. but my uncle owns the place:tup:
what time you thinking of going? i can take you there. if you still got my number give me a call or c-mail me.
at work atm
but an address would be best cuz i was hoping to ride my bike there
that all changes if ?? decides to be ?? tho
unfortunately i dont have an address. i just know how to get there.
lol ain’t that the truth
Hey, I’m going to Tokyo, Japan this August (haven’t really booked yet because I’m going with 2 other guys and they need to inform me when they exactly can go, but it’s deffo in August). We’re planning on staying in a hotel in the middle of Akihabara, is this a good spot if we want to see various kinds of things of Tokyo? I know Tokyo itself is big but there are definitely places that are a must-see; so would this be the most convenient spot?
To me, one of the most important things are good arcades (with good comp and maybe even to play a few of you guys) that have 3S and SFIV, but next to that I also want to visit a lot of shops that sell multimedia stuff, games etc. And food isn’t really a big problem because I almost like everything that is Japanese
I’m also planning on going to SBO if it’s possible.
