I checked the weather forecast, its looking good for a nice sunny day on sat, so if that’s the case, I’ll be there for sure.

I was talking to Reno, and we were thinking of going out afterwards (either as a group or with one of his friends for us to “hang out” and stuff), so if we started earlier, like, around noonish or so, and then played until 7 and then left after that, it would be a lot better for us. That is, if the plan actually goes through.

I guess I’ll wait for Reno to chime in confirming stuff is/isn’t going on before saying anything is for sure…

I only find it useful to know when I am getting texts from girlfriends or young OLs. I don’t use it myself (except for just then), I’m too old I guess. Besides, it takes more effort than typing normally.

Do you have a question about it or just asking who does it?

Well I’m actually curious about what roles in plays in both the young girl’s lifestyle in Japanese and how others can use it in a beneficial way, as well as if it represents anything culturally significant

You know how leetspeak was real popular, and now not so much? But you still have people using it here and there? Same with Gyaru-moji. It was “cool” 7-8 years ago. It got all hyped up as the new fashion but emoji kinda took over.

Yeah you can still find gyaru-moji on some websites, just like leetspeak but basically the original users of Gyaru-moji used it to show they belonged to a group of friends, when it got popular with the highschool crowd (boys and girls), they basically just used it to hide their texts from their parents.

So have any of you heard about the huge earthquake that’s supposedly hitting Tokyo this month? Are you guys worried? I read the original report talking about a spike in air ions or something like that, similar to what happened before the Kobe quake in -95, and I have to admit I’m a bit worried…
