LOL if you go to Video Games Live give me a call man. Are you hitting up the SF Fight Club thing again? I don’t know if I’m going this year, depends what day the event falls on.

Hey I did catch an invite to the NY SF Fight Club thing. Saw the E-Mail this morning and it goes down tonight? LOL talk about a last minute invite ha ha! I have to move my plans around tonight but sure I’ll go. I wish I had my camera on me, can’t do any better than crappy cell phone pictures if anything… Ah well can’t complain. IT’S FREE!
Yapped about my experience at Fight Club here. My experience. Someone asked me to try a team of Blade and Zero, get it taped so that explains that part of my post. All I talk about is TVC because… people got to play SSF4, really? THE HELL YOU SAY… All and all for free it was cool but there was a few problems. Ah moving moving forward, Video Games Live on Sunday!

so mcniven is gonna be at wondercon next year. dying to get a deadpool sketch from him…BUT my daughter’s birthday is that weekend. looks like she’s coming with me!!!
Father of the year!
so, NYCC is going head to head with Big Apple Con next year.
my prediction?, Gareb Shamus is gonna be standing in an empty hall wondering where the fuck everybody is!
my reasoning: NYCC and New York Anime Festival are held by the same company, and rumor has it that next year, they’re gonna be at the same time, in the same building, and one ticket will allow you entrance into BOTH shows.
that means two cons for the price of one. I think Shamus made a huge mistake here.
Yup. At Pittsburgh, I try to get at least one sketch, and one page every year.
I’m a HUGE Impulse fan, so I usually get something Impulse related, but last year, I picked up that New Mutants page, which is unpublished.
I like Carlo Barberi’s work, and last year, I missed out on a NM piece featuring one of my favorite characters, so this is a consolation, though I really hope to get a chance to own something with Anole on it in the future.
It’s not a rumor. It’s true. If you buy the ticket for the Anime Festival now you can get into the Comic Con.
Big Apple Comic Con sucks. All comic cons we’ve had have sucked during the 10+ year gap there were no cons in Javitz. The Mocca show is pretty cool since it caters to Underground Artists but that’s kind of it.
Shamus is going to have Hollywood Celebrities at his con so I’m all for that. All the people who go to cons to meet stars can go there. Or save your money and go to SDCC…
Anyway, Video Games Live was dope! While they were warming up, on tape you could hear Chun-Li’s theme! I read that they are working on incorporating Street Fighter into the show so HOORAY! They played the Ghosts 'N Goblins theme and that was cool. They also played a medley for the Mega Man series! Mega Man was the second most requested game series that they include in the show. It consisted of the opening song for MM2, followed by the opening song to MM3 and ending with the first song of Dr. Wily’s stage in MM2! NERD BLISS! :lovin:
Plenty of other songs from Metal Gear Solid, Zelda (Zelda 3 Dark World song sounds great on a flute), Mario, Halo, Castlevania, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy and Sephiroth’s song in Final Fantasy 7! A special treat was they played the Kingdom Hearts 1 song and on screen they showed footage of all of the Disney films the characters came from. They ended the show with the most requested series they bring into the show, CHRONO TRIGGER!
It was a lot of fun! Tommy’s a really good host and super funny! If the show comes to your area you should check it out!
This Promo rocks Doom kicks ass

Shamus pushes back his Chicago Comic Con so it doesn’t interfere with the Star Wars Celebration. His NY Con is still going head to head with NYAF and NYCC though.

So lucky, Sano, that you got to attend Video Games live. I think there was one in Orlando a year ago (or few months) and I missed out my chance.
My last con for this year is going to be AnimeSouth.
For me, it was a good year for cons. San Diego Comic-con being the highlight of the year
Hey look at the bright side. They are working on a Street Fighter medley now and who knows, if they come back to Florida and you attend you just might get to hear it before me!
Yeah I hope they put the Mega Man medley on their second Video Games Live CD-Rom so I can listen to it whenever. Off the first one I listen to the Castlevania song a lot! :lovin: I wish Nintendo was cool with having some of their themes on their CDs but they actually have a problem with their songs appearing with other video game characters… :wasted: VGL can perform Nintendo songs, but that’s it. Can’t put them on CDs. Not so much a Mario fan nowadays but I really like the Zelda series. Here’s hoping they work something out.
Great year for cons! For me, both the NY Anime Fest and the NY Comic Con were amazing but I think I liked the Anime Con slightly more. Mainly because seeing the creator of Gundam, Tomino was a dream come true. Anyway, next year both cons will be going on at the same place at the same time! Gonna be hard to decide what panels to attend…
I got this E-Mail from the NYCC / NYAF peeps.
Planet Hulk NYC and LA Screenings:
New York Comic Con, Newsarama, Marvel Comics, Lionsgate, and The Paley Center have partnered together to present a bicoastal event on January 14th, encompassing a special preview screening of the Planet Hulk animated movie and panel discussion with the talents who brought the comic and film to life. Tickets are free and will be distributed via NewYorkComicCon.com beginning on December 23rd.
So if you are or will be in NY or LA on January 14, on December 23rd check NewYorkComicCon.com for FREE tickets to a Planet Hulk screening. Don’t say I never gave you nothin’! PS Merry Christmas.
comic con single day tickets are now being sold, I already got a 4 day one anyway
:amazed: Yeah I would go for sure and them working on a SF medley would be awesome!
I had intentions of going to NYComic-con but missed out, instead went to AnimeNEXT in Jersey which was good times. I also repped with Ryu cosplay but the alternate SFIV outfit.
I did get my tickets to San Diego Comic-con. I can’t miss that :wgrin:
Has anyone checked out the SD comic con hotel pdf? I’m a bit confused as to the rates, I guess I can understand if each room is 160-300 a night for the event but damn. Gonna have to keep looking into this.
I’m curious if anyone has been to any cons in Canada, and which one would they consider worth taking a trip to?
Posted in the Marvel thread but just in case -
Hey you might be part of the Planet Hulk premiere event even if you are not attending heh!
Another sketch up for sale of a random Marvel Diva. Only wish MJ in Spider-Man’s outfit was the only sketch being offered and it was cheaper than $149.
