Honestly this is kind of OT but as much as I’d love an easier way to land ultra I just hope in dash they completely change the current ultra system. Make it so most of the time people only get one ultra an entire match, unless they absorb A LOT and it goes to round 3…

Current ultra system makes this game a little too random.

Highly agreed. I punished Blanka’s ultra early on in a match with my own ultra. lkx3 scissors FADC repeat and get another knockdown. Without realizing it I just gave him another ultra in the span of like 30 seconds. I go for a wakeup meaty and eat his ultra and die. BS.

I honestly think the best way to ‘balance’ the entire game would be simple: keep every char the same except give EVERYONE a way to combo into an ultra. Ultras can do good damage, potentially game changing, but nothing too devastating. Reduce the super damage to something like a bnb and a half. IMO, that way tournament rankings would be determined more by player skill than inherent char advantages (sagat I’m looking at you).

and on a side note, I’m not against custom combos because they can make it so that your custom combo can be as elaborate as you friggin want but just make it so that all custom combos do the same amount of damage/stun. maybe that’s a bad idea, but whatever, just daydreaming.

Give bison the scrape move (dpm+punch). I don’t give a damn if it will sucks ass, it’s tight as fuck.

just make it so that I can’t get grabbed out of the start up on scissors and PC, and down fierce to come out slightly faster and we’re cool.

Considering that Guile would definitely be getting buffs in Dash, what addition(s) to Bison would keep that match up from going further south?

Only thing I can think of is EX Headstomp being low and fast like in ST or his teleport having as little recovery as Seth.

The match isn’t THAT bad. It’s more annoying than anything.

quicker teleport recovery would make it alot easier, cuz then forward teleport would actually make sense for bison.

I don’t see what would be wrong with a custom special if the damage and stun was scaled the same for everyone. It’d just be executing a super like you would in SF4 but you could just customize the moves that come out. I’m not talking about implementing the alpha 2 thing, but something completely different. just a regular super motion that would initiate whatever you customized. its not like its going to happen and I don’t even see how it could work but what would be so bad about that?

Custom combos are hardly ever custom. After a day or two of dicking around with the mechanics of such a feature we’ll all be PAINTING THE FENCE for maximum damage. Rarely would there be a reason to do otherwise.

Capcom has a horrible track record with CCs. This game ill needs a feature to make it any stupider.

The only way I would even CONSIDER custom combos is if it involved using a full super and FULL ultra (not just a half full or barely activated)

but even then, I would have to consider it still.

At least at that point, you would probably be eating a lot of damage anyways

I would agree about ultra. I hate ultras in general. it’s a comeback option that you are given for loosing, plane and simple.

this is different from a comeback feature, because such a feature could be earned, ulike ultras. supers are in fact a mild comeback option but you need to earn it. they make the best combos free.

I would like to see that you get an ultra like once, maybe twice a fight with it’s current damage and once you use it it won’t come back or practically it just could not be charged unless you absorbed like every hit. this way they could put more emphasis on supers.

either that or diminish the damage of ultras and increase the charge time just a bit so it’s not so easy to get like 5 ultras a match.

anyway, recap once more. for our dictator demands

  1. better PC, faster to take out jumpers, especially punishing runaway jumpers.

  2. fixed hit boxes on head stomp so it doesn’t miss just because the other player did a special move or moved an eye lash. walking and jumping away from it is fair.

  3. faster recovery on telaports so it isn’t so punishable on reaction and has some offensive advantages.

  4. better more useful ultra set-up but nothing that is super easy either.

  5. increased block stun on jumping normals so reversals can’t be possible just because the jumping hit wasn’t landed deep. an offensive character needs this sort of a thing.

  6. better link from jabs to crouching medium kick.

does everyone agree that this would solve bisons delemas without making him broken?

Rather than faster recovery on teleport, I think Bison should become invisible during it’s duration, similar to the way Dhalsim’s teleport is. With Dhalsim, you’re not exactly sure where he will end up, as opposed to Bison, where he instantly teleports to the designated area, and stands there for a good while.

can we get dash cancel from s.mk too? i mean abel has it and i think bison having that would be the sexiest thing ever. it’s ok if he doesn’t, but just for the sake of feeling awesome, i’d want it

Problem is, Sim’s teleport only lets him teleport a shorter distance than Bison.

True, but Sim can also teleport in the air and attack afterwards, giving him a kind of mobility and offense that Bison does not have. Not to say that Bison should have those kind of options, but I feel like breaking that line of sight gives him a slight advantage. If it were up to me, I’d give up distance for the invisibility that Dhalsim receives, so that the opponent would have that much less of a window to react.

I just want the PC to go a bit further, so it can take out people who jump back (like it did in older games), and to be able to go THROUGH the opponent, not just in Ex form. Either that or fix the recovery, so it’s not a free punish on block. And no more allowing people to be thrown during startup (you can keep that for SK, but with PC it makes no sense considering he is on fire).

THIS. I would also like to see ex HS trade less, and if it does, it should still knockdown (so as to avoid the Sagat/Ryu free ultra problem). And let the different kick strengths actually affect HS, maybe different arcs or speeds or something. Honestly, who uses MK HS?

Of all the characters who can teleport, only Bison has zero chance of actually being able to attack afterwards, and you know where he is teleporting, and his teleport distance sucks. Dunno if it needs to be faster recovery, but definitely more distance on back + KKK (leave PPP as half screen, and KKK as full). Forward + PPP should be behind the guy, and KKK should be behind but with some distance. Still up in the air over whether he should be able to air teleport, but i sorta like Dhalsim being able to do that. Personally, I loved his MvC2 teleport.

agreed, but it’s hard to do without changing his move set. Best I can think is making his cHP improved, or allow lpPC to act as a launcher so you could use it after a lpPC in a combo (which would be UBER SEXY)

Oddly enough when I fuck up my 3x cLP, cMK, SK combo, it’s usually the SK I fuck up, rather than the cMK.

  1. fix neutral jump mp. The Ken Ultra Punisher needs to be ANYTHING else. Just something simple even. Anything but swan lake ballet punch.

  2. Short/Fake slide (like he had in previous games). If Bison is gonna be a fucking mindgame character, then give us proper mindgame tools.
