but you can’t link anything after c.mk unless it’s cancelled into a special, whereas c.mp would link into c.mk, s.mk, s.hk, or another c.mp. The point is to up bison’s damage on the bnb’s, if capcom doesn’t want him to have big damage potential, fine. But at least give him something to make up the damage elsewhere, and imo the best place to do that is through bnb’s.
I’d like to see c.hp being faster too, but I think if j.mp gets better priority then anti-air shouldn’t be nearly as big of an issue. Think of something like chun-li’s nj.hk
CR mk. is 4 frames. and Crouch mp into roundhouse connects at max distance so thats really good. and yeah i do think bison needs a way into ultra that makes people go fuck i got hit!
all I want in particularly is to shorten the start-up time on cr.hp so I don’t have to guess when I use it. Some people I can do it to on reaction but most of the cast…no. Anyway…it just seems like all the top characters in SF4 have a gimmick that they can exploit, whether it’s w/e FADC Ultra or safe tiger knees or something. I feel that Bison is a strong character, but you just have to work way too hard with him to make up for the fact that you don’t have any real gimmicks to exploit. Also I wish he had a way he could safely approach. When fighting a shoto…coming in from the air is…well…not a good idea usually outside of knockdown b/c against any good player, you WILL eat an srk at least b/c they got like half a day to decide what to do.
that’s what HS/DR was suppose to be for…except they don’t work too well unless you’re psychic.
I don’t really think bison has an impossible barrier to get around for approaching shotos, he only has trouble approaching guile, akuma, sim, and seth imo. The latter 2 almost everybody has trouble approaching. Against everybody else in the cast, bison has no problem getting in as long as you’re a little patient. Of course I won’t complain if bison got an aerial dive kick or somethign >_>
yeah HS and DR are just pathetic. no good player is ever going to jump full screen and seldom will jump unless they know they will be safe and you can’t HS or DR them. if they are unsure they just jump back and bison can’t punish them for that because they do it on reaction. HS is risky as hell in general cause of it’s insane reset time if whiffed. I mean he is supposed to be offensive right? yet his air game is complete trash that you must use with ULTIMATE skill and timing.
bison is just an uphill battle.
hell people just runway from him so why not add an anti-air. hell I want to see a guile style c. hp and want to see SK into ultra and super into ultra. other characters have it why not bison?
I am debating whether hs should do more damage but stay the way it is. I’m thinking ex snakestrike type damage. I also think dr should armor break and have better crossup
i much rather have it made more useful and given slightly more priority. would be nice if there were any interesting juggles/combos it could lead to if it hit a certain way.
I’d be happy if they changed two things and these things alone:
1.) Give him his beta crusher. His regular crusher should be similar to the current EX one. His EX version could have EX armor and be as safe and spammable as Ryu’s ex tatsu. It’s his signature move and in this its an escape/reversal tool with nothing offensive to it except shennanigans from across the screen.
2.) Combo into an ultra with a special move on top of the simple juggle. Either that or work in some way to be able to combo into a LVL2 focus attack like Sagat. Make it fairly difficult like with Sagat and it’d be a perfectly satisfactory way to combo into an ultra on the ground.
I think everyone could live without a solid anti-air and little in terms of defense with these changes.
anywho, I just look at the damage ryu (for instance) can do with a simple ex tatsu combo (which still allows for OTHER moves to be thrown in, depending on the situation), or other characters have with their combos, and see that Bison doesn’t have high damage combos, and doesn’t really have alot of use for FADC.
That shit needs fixing. PC should do more damage than SK, with SK giving better position rather than similar damage. As of now, it just gives slightly better stun
What fi you could cancel a Hs or a dr hit or block into teleport and if either hit in the air, could start on some combo on the ground.
What if they just redid the hs dr system by letting you DR out of a headstomp if the other guy dashes?
Would being able to air teleport between j mp1 and 2 be overpowered? it would make ultra attempts less risky, but not totally riskless(like dp FADC). Could probably get caught by a fireball while recoverying from the teleport.
Pc should do more of something whether its stun of dmg. Its way to risky to pretty much ever use.
Yeah well, Ryu’s ultra does less damage then bison’s ultra, i dont see you crying about that either. You can’t compare single (EX)moves with other characters when the moves are not the same. Comparing ken with ryu might be understandable, but comparing ryu - or anyone else for that matter - with bison is bull.
Sure one move might turn out to be better, or do more damage then the other move, but it’s the total picture of the character that counts. Each move is designed a specific way to balance a character. If you want to screw around with that, you better add a whole new character, take all the good from all the others, call him Mr. Invincible, make an account “ipwnyoun00b” and do your god-like rushes, but i can asure you, SFIV will be boring for you within 1 week.
Bison’s ultra command needs to be tweaked so teleports don’t come out and it needs to be actually useable like other characters’. I would suggest the input be mashing all the buttons at the same time five or six times and instead of his weak scissor kick crap Bison would open his mouth really wide like in the ring or the grudge or whatever and then swallow the opponent out and shit them out and they’d be covered in pink shit and move at 1/4 speed the rest of the round and their health should drain. Just my $0.02~~
