That would be hilarious.
Nuki plays extremely tight. I very much enjoy watching Mester and Nitto, but they just donāt compare with Nuki for raw power. Thereās only one Yun with near flawless execution of genei-jin, and thatās KO. Rarely do I see him make mistakes, or miss a combo.
lol at the MP genei jin rush
Issay plays a really tight Yun. Youāll see him throw in some kara palms and a kara command grabs. He also has really good pressure on his blocked GJ strings into sommand grab. The consistancy award certainly goes to K.O though. (I have also seen K.O do some kara palms and such).
It seems to me most people donāt like Yun because he is the best character. Most people donāt give many reasons as to why they donāt like him so I will assume the bias is created because of that. I can actually explain why I donāt like Chun. Chun players usually just turtle with fierces until the have an SA stocked, the c.MK super. That is what makes Chun boring for me. All the same, I saw I believe Pierre or some other Urien player use Chun and was actually charge partitioning her birdkicks, rushing down, and it was a blast to watch.
Ironically, straight run away Yunās are the most boring to watch and seem to lose the most as well. You get a lot better bar on blocked attacks than you will running yourself into a corner wiffing c.MP all the while.
Yeah Issay is pretty good too, almost better than Nitto and Mester⦠but as you pointed out, no one beats KO for sheer consistency.
Shout out to pyrolee, I like his Yun very much, often looks japanese
any remy matches?
that 5man aussie vid over at combovideos.com is pretty decent. a pleasant surprise from the land down underā¦
thanks for the feedback, aznflict
yeah, i DLed the other vid that was uploaded to combovideos.com a couple months back. not bad, but video quality is horrible, especially for direct feed.
Codyās urien was interesting to watch. some of those aegis setups were fun, but really dangerous.
Howās it going guys, Iām IXL, the Yun player in the vid
Thx for the feedback aznflict
Itās actually quite embarrassing to show our vid which has execution errors here and there⦠we are still pretty noob in front of camera and we get nervous and pressured in comps. Hope Cody Garland and Aurik in Japan will do fine in the SBO (despite i know we dont really stand a chance there)
And hereās the pic taken b4 the comp. From left to right:
IXL(YU), Cody(UR), Jack(RY), Shaaaaaa(IB), Garland(KE)
Yes we call ourselves aussie team but we are all asians

Yeah rushdown Yun is much scarier than turtle Yun.
I love on the last ranbat, in the finals he kept meter build then full screen genei jin, Nuki had none of it and stopped him every time.
Also I give it up to Yun players, he is -not- easy to play in the slightest. Takes alot of dedication to get good with.
lol, classic. even team australia is asian. yeah, being on camera is nerve-racking. i know it shouldnāt make a difference, but i think it does.
You know, Iāve always heard the opposite, that turtle Yun was better than rushdown Yun. Once GJ is activated Yun is the best character in the game, so the thought went that you should run away as much as possible under you have it. Rushdown seems like it leaves more holes where you might make a mistake and eat random damage.
I didnāt say that straight rush down was the best way to play Yun either. If you have good momentum, then go with it. Like I said though, if you run around wiffing c.MP and get yourself stuck in the corner, youāre boned. You very well might have to blow any meter youāve gained just to get your ass out of the corner which defeats the whole purpose. The only place you can run to is the corner and Yun certainly isnāt the best character at getting out of there.
If you almost have a bar and are mid screen or more, sure, back off, wiff some c.MPs and get bar. If you have your opponent in the corner, go for lp, lk, mp into GJ. There are times to run away. There are also times to rush down. Lets say your opponent has no SA stocked and you just finished a GJ. Right now might be a really good time to rush them down and have another GJ on them in no time.
What Iām trying to say is you want more of an offensive balance. You donāt want to get stomped outside of GJ, but you also donāt want to rush wrecklessly. Yun doesnāt have the stamina to play really defensively or the stamina to play wrecklessly. A balanced offense (i.e. trading pokes, etc.) into a runaway offense once you get GJ. That is my oppinion on how Yun should be played.
Iām with u here, there are times when i tried to run away too much and got myself in the corner and couldnt get out of it due to good spacing from the opponent. There are also times i tried to rush down and my opponent baited for parry and landed big combo on me. I do think to use yun in a consistent way, u need to attack at the right time, probably hit and run suits yun the most.
I said it was -scarier-, but I didnāt say it was neccesarily better to play one way or the other.
Really it comes down to matchups. For example, Vs. Q you wouldnāt want to turtle cause thatās free taunts. Vs. someone like Yang or Akuma, you canāt really run away and meter build as much. Take into consideration the matchup and go from there.
hereās a classic match, uploaded by my friend hkh1022 - Daigo vs Justin Wong @ FFA Worlds.
could someone upload the most recent ksk ranbat 20060401?..im at college and they block ALL TORRENTS lameā¦
The 3/31/06 Aussie Sydney Chinatown SBO qualifiers (from combovideos.com) were all nicely played! Donāt ever call yourselves noobs⦠cuz you guys arenāt noobs at all. Itās not easy to play in front of a camera and besides, you guys werenāt intending to āput on a showā. Donāt be intimidated by the Japanese competition of SBO. Iām sure you all will do better than expected. Best of luck!
