As for SFIV. When I first played it, I thought it was decent, but not the best thing I’ve ever played. In fact, it might possibly be my worst fighting game ever. Not that I’m all that great at any other ones, but my SFIV level compared to the level I played other games at is pretty pathetic according to my own standards.
Even with that, I still get enjoyment out of SFIV. I can’t seem to put it down for some reason. Granted, my arcade and console characters are different, but I think, at least for me, the fact that I’m NOT compatable with it, and the fact that I REALLY have to put effort in just to win a round against certain people is kind of an attraction of sorts for me. It’s BECAUSE it’s hard, and it’s BECAUSE things feel weird that I feel compelled to play it more. SFIV comes natural to some people, but the “natural” way for me to play fighting games is pretty much the complete opposite of how SFIV is meant to be played. So by going outside of my boundaries and playing this game like it’s supposed to be played, I feel like I’m overall getting better, no matter how crappy my win record is, or no matter how badly I lose to scrubs mashing SPDs.
Yeah, I do get mad because I don’t understand, but if I keep stopping when the game doesn’t feel “right” to me, then I have no chance of improving because I’m just quitting. I still find fun in the game, so I’ll keep at it, even if I go 2 and out at every tournament.
As for challenge mode, I beat Sakura’s, Ryu’s, Dan’s and Honda’s. I might do Chun’s next, but I just wanna play online usually, lol.
ok i lied gens #5 is pretty ridiculous…the only really hard ones have been viper #4 or 5 (dont remember which one is the c.jab into ultra),abel #5,fuerte #5, and gen #5…gen #5 probably took as long as vipers did…those 2 are by far the hardest
B you unlock alternate colors, titles and some other things that elude me as of now…And I honestly can’t see how you’re not playing Rose or Viper, B…those 2 little whores scream BOZAC!!BOZAC!!..imo:rofl:
Adam I can understand your feeling about the jumping…If anyone remembers, I posted about this a while back when i got back from NY( jumping just feels wierd & I still can’t seem to cross up properly:sad:) and after playing it in Chinatown. Also I’m still having a bit of trouble with meaty attacks on wake up as in landing them…I seem to have got the reversal timing down now though…But other than that the game is crack imo. Can’t seem to put it down. And lets not forget it took Capcom 5 chances [2,CE,Hyper,Super,ST] to make the gem we call ST…so give it another shot Adam!

Great games to Jim and Andy, of course…shit was fun, but That fuckin’ Russian was seriously pissing me off, and that shit doesn’t happen often…I’m not sure how I feel about that.
The game felt odd at first, but you spend time with it and you either really like it or I guess you don’t. It’s a shame the music isn’t memorable, but it isn’t terrible either.
My only three gripes about the game are as follows:
1 - the intro isn’t really an intro, it’s a fucking youtube mashup.
2 - The alternate costumes have to be bought with real money, rather than be, you know, unlockable.
3 - Not enough NEW people like Street Fighter 3 did it.

I really like SF4 so far. It kind of reminds me of SF2, but at the same time, it’s new. I’ll be on later tonight if anyone wants to play me online. My main is Ryu. I haven’t unlocked all the characters yet (school work takes up 99% of my time), but I do have Rose:sweat: Anyway, like I said, if anyone wants to play me, let me know. It’s not even the new game factor that’s getting me, it’s the draw of those EX focus dash cancels…reminds me of playing GGXX for the first time and trying to learn dizzy frc combos…good memories. There’s so many uses for these things with all the characters…not just offensive but defensive strategies as well. It’s like SF stole my favorite mechanic from GG just to make the game more addictive lol. Anyway, after fucking around in training for a solid 5+ hours tonight, I can say I’m thoroughly addicted. It’s going to be a blast to see how this one progresses.
i just wish the online was better, instead of delayed inputs and what not, i like the roll back system of hd remix MUCH better, it can be difficult to time stuff perfectly but if i’m missing lk,hk, ultra with rufus there is a problem lol
It actually is a pretty good game, and i don’t think the online is terrible, don’t get me wrong, but the timing on the advanced stuff is very tight however, and you just have to time a lot of things ahead of time.
oh btw is someone else besides jim going to the arlington heights gamestop on sat? when i picked up my game and gave the guy my name the guy said “oh someone was just in here and said youre the guy whos supposed to win the tourny on sat” and i was like oh? was his name jim since i assumed jim was the only one who lived around here and he was like no so im curious who else knows me around here o_O
Once you get his links down though they become second nature.
Gief is fucking retarded easy to play as in this game. It took me 10 minutes to get his links into ex glove down and thats about all there is to learn with him.
Abel is really fucking fun. Reminds me of when I am playing dudley getting a grove on practically freestyling shit.
Wish me luck in Indianapolis, imma try to rep IL for SF4.
and if we have to fight eachother on 360 pads, this will truly be an epic battle.

Yeah some dude was playing me, destroyed my Sakura 3 rounds in a row with cheap shit. Played me again, I decided to mirror match him with gief, I mashed KKK and spd and ended up beating him. It was so easy and stupid. I switched back to Sakura after that and beat him again, so I was pretty happy about that, but it was about 100x as hard with my own character than it was just using gief. So scrubby.
