I love how the SF4 hype pretty much died within 5 hours of people getting the game as a whole. Ah well, I like it, good times.

hey adam, im not going to try to change your mind at all, but just wanted to post a few things ive heard (both positive-ish and negative-ish). i remember not liking how the game looked in the loc tests (in vids). i remember bozac posting in his blog about that some previous sf game developers didnt like sf4 that much either. ive heard that there are a lot of people who havent liked the game the first time(s) they played it. fei long’s voice is horrible. i told jim and kenny it wouldve been better if they made his mouth move real fast and had one of those really bad english dubs ‘translate’ what he was saying. no airblocking!! no air dashes!! no double jump!! >.<
OTOH, some of the same ppl that didnt like the game at first said that the game grew on them as they played. that gief splash that whiffed has its uses. ive seen gief be safe from wakeup supers (like vipers) and dp’s from a variety of chars (sagat, ryu, …) in the same situation. lol, i posted more negative things… even so, i’ve enjoyed playing so far.
bozac, dont want to main blanka? from my limited exp, i think… maybe try boxer. or rufus, if only for his dive kick. =P if you want a dp and fireball, then i say akuma. ive seen him play 100% runaway with success.
jim, i think i can bring a small setup for games that have airblocking. =D

I like the fact that most of your complaints were put in a way that made it clear that things were not to your liking…versus being called patently broken or inferior.
Too many reviews, someone will say “X is broken” when what they actually mean is “I preferred the way this other game did X over the way this game does X”.

honestly i stopped reading right here…this is flat out the scrubbiest paragraph i have ever read…reversals are DIRT easy in this game nothing like st at all so to even bring them up is ridiculous…the game is about LINKS now not scrubby easy chains thats why you cant execute…u know…timing? not practice mode muscle memory combos like your paint the fence? which another thing is ive seen your execution in games and i doubt you can consistantly paint the fence on pad or not

Andy, originally I did play Blanka the few times I played in the arcade before console came out. My main issue with Blanka is that his ultra fucking sucks and its also kinda hard to combo into. I can play Blanka fine in ST but when I have to do combos that involve comboing into a blanka ball and then FADC that into more shit, its kinda annoying cuz I never liked complex shit for charge characters (I generally suck at them but I can play ST Blanka somewhat decent because its not that hard). One reason why I never seriously played Venom in GG.
Rufus… hmmm… I guess I could give him another chance but I didnt like how he felt the one time I tried him at the arcade for like a few mins. Plus I hate his design.
Boxer is a charge character so its sorta the same thing.
Akuma I was considering actually. He takes a shit ton of damage though…
If only Cammy could do cannon strike from a backwards or up jump and she could cross up with some sorta jumping attack I would like her a bit more. Plus hooligan sucks kinda hard in this game and has no cannon strike option

I still have to get that last C.Viper one. I can get all the parts, but not together in one combo.
Right now though I’m stuck on Ryu F+FP, C.FP, Shory xx FADC. LINKS ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS.

o.k. so noticing in sf4 if you link your short/jabs you can then 2 in 1 into special (dragonpunch) If you chain short/jabs (assuming they’re chainable) you have to link in special.
Some of these challenge combos are really testing me. Blanka jmk standing mp, down mk, standing jab into ball is really tough.
