nives you should change your sig to 2x chicago champ + analogy MONSTER
I have the best Amano in the midwest.
sup. I’m that dude who has no titles whatsoever underneath his belt
also I’m not slevin.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Breaking rules already hisham?
Ya but what I’m tryin to say is the last event a lot of the players were SRK people, not just the regular crew. Did you even bother to look at the results? I see what you’re saying but it was NOT the same group of people who were at the last 2d tournament there.
Friday i’m going up to Janesville to play Mateo and spending the night there. Tonight I’m (probably) busy and tomorrow I have matches scheduled on PSN. Did you make it home yet? Hit me up tonight.
“most people can solve at least 1 side of a rubik cube, which is great and all, but there is pretty much no way of solving the whole cube from that point without destroying everything you accomplished in solving that one side”
You obviously don’t know how to do a rubik’s cube
I think Chicago just turned itself into another VS. installment.
Jim vs. Webster
Jerry vs. Dan
Ari vs. Youngbloods
Humbag vs. Beer
Frankie vs. Youtube
Daniel vs. Rubik’s Cube
Chicago vs. Chicago!
Tune in to see who will come out victorious! Tonight, at 7.
webster you really gotta hit up a resturant called Russels before you go back. though its in the burbs so it may be difficult to get there. Maybe during Acen at least.
do you take all the stickers off, or do you start spray painting the sides? i hope your rubik’s cube is not the same color on all sides.
Beer too powerful.
Whats funny is that im not even really that close to Chicago.
Join Date: Feb 2009 … this guy is obviously a scrub.
arcana is also a great way to learn basics imo. i know that gg did very little in teaching me basics.
reminds me of my thread name suggestion: Chicago: Where we say we don’t care what you say, but then respond passionately about it anyway
if you want some fun, go ahead and tally up the number of times someone has started their post w/ “i dont care what you have to say” and then they go on writing a novel about said uncared for issue.
ill make a note of ari’s post.
irl imo. why would you do this online? make this (or whatever other MMs that are being arranged) happen at the next tourney with everyone watching. itd be hype.
previously you posted…
i mean, this is the internet. i guess that statements like this are commonly mis-interpreted. but remember, youre talking to/addressing people youve never met before.
also, im not sure why youre yelling [CAPS] at us. first off, honestly its not coming off very well. 2nd the last screenz tourney had a good turnout. 3rd the last screenz tourney was a smash tourney, why even talk about it on these forums. if/when i want to talk smash (and i occasionally do) i go to smashboards. for naruto go to willvo… etc etc… you know all this. 4th the 2D tourney at screenz was nec weekend. even in the planning stages i told dark kakashi this. yes, you care about the chi scene. so do we.
to everyone else, webster is really chill irl. sometimes i dont know what to make of the differences in people’s online and offline persona’s. random note: [happy cat] humbag is also cool irl… but his posts also often boggle my mind.
heh, for the record… this ‘middle east guy’ plays gg (testament) and he is from chicago. uMm… and he thinks arakune is a weird char… thats all i know.
No, I actually legitimately know how to do it
It’s cause I’m a big ol’ nerd.
I’m gonna kick that Rubik’s Cube’s ass by the way SR-X
On a related note:
Frankie is getting his ass kicked by Youtube. What a scrub.
are you talking about this tournament result?
http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=173844
so clarifying: my point was it is still a new venue that needs some work, and that it isnt really some respectably high level competitive venue where placing first in some tournament there is accepted with the community as being “prestigious”. i m saying this outright to avoid confusion.
your counter argument, also clarifying to make sure there is no confusion, is that the last event a lot of the players were SRK people, not just the regular crew and that it was NOT the same group of people who were at the last 2d tournament there.
i think i almost took it verbatim. replacing the word “almost” with “completely”.
so um … because these players are on SRK, they are just that awesome and great at games? Also you had 23 people in screenz, while FF had 30. that is a 30% difference.
if you want to argue 30% is not that big a difference in increase, lets add a 30% increase to your rent, and if your cool with that. we can talk then.
screenz was given a month to communicate and plan to people, referring to the tournament post date of Dec. 30, 2008. While FF was given more than 2 months of time, referring to the post date of Oct. 23, 2008. more time to plan, wider range of competition available. course the population will be different, FF was open to a more diverse range of people due to more prior planning and open communication.
i m lost on how your argument has any grounds or remotely counters what i said.
your post sounds just to me like:
then Santa Clause comes up behind you and announces Christmas is now Syxx Day, the Easter Bunny gives out eggs with your face painted on it, and the Tooth Fairy gives out baseball cards with your street fighter stats in place of the teeth she steals.
Uhh yeah Capps… GLB is not a scrub, take a look at my join date, my initial account was deactivated but ive been a member for more than 7 years and im not a scrub so yeah…
Speaking of that Friartucks cvs2 tourney isn’t that the one i won, when the fob decided he wanted to random select it and he we got all kinds of random characters? LOL that tournament was too funny
and god i suck at that game
BTW… yeah I’m the one who spoke out against screenz and it was for these reasons
-I arrived on time, but the tournament director was more than 45 minutes late for his own tourney
-When I went there were like 10 people there, and all entering different games, for example GG had 4 people, so yeah I peaced out early
-I came for remix and 3s but remix wasn’t gonna be run until 7 p.m. which I think probably should have been moved up due to the lack of players that showed.
Now maybe you guys have gotten your shit together since then and that’s cool, I’m not one to bash on a scene/location for no reason, just gave my opinion on my initial experience at Screenz.
And E-rok, remix is a solid game, scrubs die in it just like in any other game and people aren’t wasting their time playing it, it’s a new game and will be right alongside sf4 in tournaments for at least the next few years.
Humbag throwing in the towel so early? Fight man, FIGHT! And yeah, you’re not that close, but you pop in here so often, and most times drunk, that I thought I’d throw it in for lulz.
NERRRRRRRRRRRRRD!! [/DBZ abridged reference]
I’ve finished a Rubik’s cube once before. Took me a long ass time. I remember getting it, mixing it up, trying to do something…getting frustrated, putting it in my drawer, forgetting about it for a couple years…finding it again, trying again, finding a little booklet that gives hints, and finally finishing it. Good times…good times.
lol dfly, its all good. i know glb and he knows me. in the same light, i forgot to say what a major scrub bob washington is as well in my previous post.
(dont worry, i know him too… and yes i know he’s not a scrub either)
Where is george???
I think Rashad and George are plotting together to make a huge comeback…
And I will own u all in sf4
I guess Jose and I could have a sneaker battle… Jose has advantage, though.
I called Nickel City on Sunday about T6, but whoever answered the phone had no idea.
You guys do realize there is a set pattern to complete a rubik’s cube, right…?
Also, I actually like AH…too bad I’m not any good at it. And…I’ll agree about the basics thing since I can’t remember any strange system exploits at the moment. Also, I’m in the same boat as you…Marvel isn’t a good game to learn basics whatsoever.
Rashad is busy playing Magic, and George decided to say “fuck you” to all of us by disappearing w/o an explanation, or even good bye…while still having amassed a lot of debt to various people (note, that is the extent of my knowledge and how I take it; someone do correct me if I’m wrong).
- Mike
P.S. I dunno WTF you’re talkin’ 'bout, Andy…Eric’s hella scrub! :lol::razz:
