looks like this place is going the same route as gigawatts. good players finding reasons to not go (laggy tvs, no comp, other BS), so rather than having another place we can gather and play, or even have tournaments at, so its going to die. thanks shitcago
hey it works fine for the people that it works for (city people) us suburbanites just dont feel its worth the headache of dealing with all the shit thats associated with that place
edit: actually lemme clarify that…its great that you guys have that place because it DOES work for you and hopefully will keep you guys playing and being competitive for sf4…just because some players dont show up to those tournys doesnt mean its a horrible place or that its going to die like you said…you guys can keep it alive just fine and hopefully since its convenient for you guys you will play a lot and the scene will grow even if its not ALL together eventually it will be…the more people playing the better regardless of where it is…this whole screenz issue started because only because of syxx’s sig making dumb claims when its like the same thing as humbag winning a tourny in champaign and being like “im the best in IL” its just a dumb claim and hopefully he realized that since he took it out of his sig…but ya back to topic…if screenz works for you guys then great…keep holding tournys…keep having gatherings there and level up…but when some players dont show up because of inconveniences dont start bashing them
in other news…ide love to start running weeklys/bi-weeklys once sf4 comes out but i can’t really think of a suitable location that works for everyone…i might talk to amar about running them at nickels but im not sure yet
While I agree that screenz isn’t someplace that I’d like to drive to on a consistant basis. No reason to completely write it off as it is another option for us to goto.
I mean, this isn’t cali where there are like 15 arcades within 10 miles and they all have comp and several SF4 machines. We gotta take what we can get, if we shit on it then we won’t have anything left.
If I had my own place then I’ll probably have gatherings too. But that won’t likely be for a few years anyway. That and I’d have to stabilize my cab so you doing your old man shoryukens don’t knock over the cab lol.

That said, who the fuck cares? Not only is this arguement silly, but we’re fighting amongst ourselves, instead of working together to teach each other what we know. I thought we were supposed to help each other, to learn from each other, and then show what we can do to the rest of the nation when our time comes. We’re bashing a 2-month old remake of a 20-year old game. We’re giving each other shit over a game that isn’t even out yet. If that’s what I’m trying to bring, then I’d rather distance myself and say “Location: N/A”. I mean, I’ve tried to watch Dan’s Cammy, and study it, not to find his flaws and beat him, but to learn what I can, and then, if I were to beat him someday, realize that I’ve gotten better.
