You are not wrong but it deserves more love then Lost Levels for the quality and that got put into the original All Stars.
Wild guessing but it could be they just wanted three distinct 3D games for the collection.

It really is probably as simple as that.
Trying to understand Nintendo’s logic for making decisions is an exercise in futility.
I’m sure they ran into some physics issues running the game in 60FPS. That shit can have unforseen consequences when you don’t accomadate the jump in frame rate with additional development time. Guess I’m just preaching to the choir but yeah.
Remember vanilla Scholar of The First Sin, and how all weapons broke twice as fast because the frame rate doubled?
Sounds like the weapons breakdown calculations were set per frame, and it was just laziness that they haven’t fixed the code when they double the frame rate
They are tied directly into the frame rate as degradation is caused by the weapon overlapping with a collision box. The higher the frame rate the more the weapon is recognized as being inside a collision box and thus degrades faster.
Bumping the frames from 30 to 60 doubled the amount of “time” the weapon was considered inside a collision box thus the tick count doubled.
and that reminds me---- of all the things that have become common in the past generation or 2 of gaming…that weapon durability is something I never like. I’m either mildly annoyed or just outright hate the shit. At the very least, there should always be a way to fix your broken gear, like a blacksmithing skill or vendor in town.
Only game where you cant fix broken stuff and it doesnt bother me is Breath of the Wild because i have more weapons then I know what to do with. Started hanging them in my house just to do something with them lol.
I’m not a huge SMB fan but I’m pretty hyped about this too, it looks like a lot of fun.
But it also makes me wish they had something similar for Castlevania 1, maaaaan that would be my shit! Sadly CV isn’t SMB and Konami sure as hell isn’t Nintendo.
Fuuuck…having Madusa heads thrown at you randomly…man fuck that lmao.
Looks like my shoe hustle may have extra unexpected benefits. Champs is lettin me use my member points to enter a raffle. Winners get a Switch, Mario Puma shoes AND a physical copy of 3D All Stars. Wish me luck
That would be NUTS! Still, that would be really fun
Bought Splatoon 2 with the quickness off Amazon. $45 shipped w/Prime, that got me hyped. Should be here on Wednesday.
I also feel you guys on Mario Galaxy 2 being left out, but I’m not spending $60+tax on a digital copy of 3D All Stars. Fuck all that goddamn noise, I’ll go into Walmart the day it comes out and buy a physical copy for at least $10 less.
Same.
I will never buy digital if physical is an option, aside from the limited run copies. I actually paid like $10 more to get physical copy of Dead Cells over digital.
Although I will say, now that my son is gaming, it would be nice to have digital copies of games because he goes between NSMB and Mario Odyssey a lot, and I have to switch em for him because it’s too high for him to switch, and I also don’t want him handling the little cards because he could so easily lose it.
I’m starting to feel that way now as well about digital vs physical, and doubly so because the wife wants a Switch for Christmas this year. In the leadup to actually unboxing my Switch last year, I spent a crapton of money. Well over $400-500 on games, plus the microSD card, and all of the accessories I have. I think that me getting Trials of Mana for $25 here recently showed the light clear in my face in the favor of physical cartridges. Of course, now I wanted to get physical copies of Grandia HD Remastered and Ys Origin (I have the digital version of Grandia, and Ys Origin I bought on PC very recently), and I feel like I don’t really want to get those because I own them already.
Yeah I’m starting to be in the predicament that this Xmas I plan on getting my son his own Switch, which means if we want to play together I will need 2x copies of the game depending on what game it is.
Play co-op games?
