Btw, if you have Doom 1 or 2 for the Switch they launched a gyroscope controls option patch today (well, technically yesterday)

I’ve never really played a Dead Rising game. I’ve fucked around with the first but that’s it.

Interesting option but the game doesn’t seem to benefit much since I can’t aim up or down anyway. Still appreciate that it was added showing they care about QoL updates. Thanks for the heads up.

This might help.

That’s not a bad deal at all. $20 in savings.

Yeah that is a nice deal but that wont’ be a game I’ll double dip in. I’m done with it so he could play it whenever he wants.

You mentioned he’s been more active and playing and switching cartridges may be too hard so I Figured I’d pass it along

Gotcha yeah thanks. Mario Odyssey owns but definitely not double dipping for the convenience hah.

Picked up Ring Fit on a whim last night. I’ve been severely lacking motivation to go to the gym, plus with the pandemic; I might be able to exercise here in the house and avoid going to the gym.

this would be so bought if I could make action-rpgs… I just can’t get down with the turn-based stuff, man. Even if it was something as simple as the style of original Legend of Zelda, that would be great.

…but a “Isometric Action-RPG Maker”? BRUH I’d buy that shit SO fast. It would instantly be one of the greatest games ever produced, imo. Imagine you decide what kind of story and lore is there… you get tons of assets for regular or boss-level monsters, all the stuff you need to set up the stages, deciding what the level-cap and endgame setup is like, deciding the skills for each character class, designing the ranks of weapons [common/rares/epics/Legendary/etc.] etc. I could obsess over this for thousands of hours and many years, easily. First thing that comes to mind of course—this would help me realize my dream “Supernatural Monsters” game, where the character classes are things like vampire, witch/warlock, werewolf, wendigo, ogre, etc.

edit—and of course my idealized version of this would include full color-control on everything: characters, items/weapons, monsters and stages, any vehicles, etc. etc.

ah, this channel I follow on occasion has a review:

edit–just off the top of my head, I’d most likely set level cap at 100 if I were making rpgs…always seemed like a sensible # as the limit. Shamelessly stealing from Blizzard or whatever company came up with this first—I’d have a “paragon levels” type of system beyond that.

@Million-X

Have you ever played Dreams man? You should check it out. As a game developing tool, it’s fucking astounding the sheer amount of possibilities it holds. I’ve played some games in there that easily out class other $60 games just in terms of quality.

Have they said if Mario 64 has a free roaming camera on Super Mario 3D Allstars? It has to have that right? Instead of pressing the buttons to move it to fixed positions?

I haven’t seen anything, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept it like the original, knowing Nintendo’s history of decision making.

It would be hard to do though with only 4 face buttons vs. the 6 on N64 controller.

Maybe, but there is an extra stick. Can you do digital inputs with an analog stick? I think you can- Mario Maker definitely lets you control Mario with a stick instead of the DPad. I guess it depends on if Nintendo wanted to put the effort in to reprogram the camera vs using the stick for the digital camera inputs from the original game.

Making the right analog stick be a hacky version of the C buttons would be a terrible idea imo. That would be worse than making the face buttons just control it and then using shoulder buttons for the jumping and stuff.

I’m thinking they will just make it free roam though. I hope this info comes out prior to releasing though. It may be a deal breaker for me.

I hope you’re right, but I’m not holding my breath.

They would use the right stick as ghetto C buttons. They have done this in the past.

If it was a remake of Mario 64 I could definitely see them adding a free camera. But I am fully expecting the camera to act the same as it does in the original for this collection. Especially after hearing you have to use motion controls for Galaxy, or the touchscreen in handheld mode. They seem to be preserving the original game mechanics.

I guess one thing that brings a little hope is that they did update the controls for Metroid Prime 1 and 2 for the Trilogy collection on Wii. But again, I’m not holding my breath for Mario 64 to have a free cam. If it does, then fuck yeah.
