Posted this in the other thread and decided to keep it. I downloaded Warface and bought Damascus Gear Operation Tokyo. Warface is amazing, especially for being free. For some reason, I got Killzone vibes from it, and it makes me lament the Vita and what Sony could’ve done with it. I need a good microSD card, a screen protector, and a case/shell. Any recommendations? Also, how the hell is Diablo 3 still full price?!

Just make sure it’s not a Nintendo branded Sandisk and you should be good. They hellla overcharge. Also make sure it’s an SDXC. Don’t worry about formatting it as the Switch does it for you.
As for where to buy them: Amazon and Best Buy regularly have sales on Micro SD Cards. I got a 512gb earlier this year for less than $100
Can’t really help you on the screen protector though. I’ve never felt the need to have one for any of my portable tech. I think Hori makes really good ones for the Switch though?

Think the price of Diablo 3 at this point is more so Blizzard and not the Switch tax. That game’s been out for about a year now right? checks Nov. 2 2018. Yeah that’s Blizzard. Blizzard I’m pretty sure has made more than made their money back for the the game on the system but they’re trying to be Nintendo which is weird because that game is old and it was ported.

Been on a Sonic kick since it’s not safe to continue Killer7 for now. Found a new area in Green Hill Zone act 1 after almost 30 years. The gift that keeps on giving.

That Natsume wrestling game looks kind of hype. I was playing that Pro Wrestling game they already have included in the app and it was surprisingly fun considering how archaic it is.

I’m pretty sure I did buy both Sonic 1 and 2 ages editions for the Switch despite trying to tell myself that I wouldn’t buy these games again unless it was the Christian Whitehead versions aaaaand they made some small changes here and there to make it worth my while to buy them. I didn’t play through the arcade mode though or do ranks. I’d probably put in a decent time but wouldn’t be anywhere near what real speed runners do for those games.

Yea, I have some routes through these games but for a series everyone says you HAVE to speedrun, my times are all pretty relaxed really.
Reminds me my favorite criticism of the Sonic series if you have to speed run them which 100% isn’t the case at all. Have had arguments with friends about this. They like “Its Sonic toy have to go fast” and im like “Really tho? The game that gives you 10 minutes per Zone has to speed run? Mario gives you like 3 minutes” lmao.
Man gotta always have that conversation with people that Sonic doesn’t necessarily have to move at the speed of sound just because he can. The games definitely can lean into that but that only comes with practice just like any other platformer. Trying to run through any platformer haphazardly on the first run is going to be a risky endeavor…it’s just magnified because you have a character that if he wants to actually go at a breakneck pace the game actually allows for that.

There’s a kind of a huge difference between speed and momentum. Most Sonic fans I know love the momentum based gameplay of certain sonic titles like 3+k, mania, colors, rush to name a few. There’s a pretty clear distinctionYet somehow Sega can’t seem to figure out the difference.

I just saw the replay for the #1 ranking in Green Hill Zone speed record and that shit is magic. It’s so good, I was thinking about it today after watching it a couple days ago.

Lol wut? DKC was an incredible looking game for its time, especially for a 16 bit system. It was ground breaking, being one of the first major games to use pre-rendered 3D sprites. It looked better than games on the PlayStation.

I also think DKC games are kind of ugly. They look plastic and waxy and super fake. The tech is impressive not trying to down play that, but artistically I think it looks like a game made out of plastic molds. I would have preferred classic dot sprites.
Not a big fan of the DKC series as a whole tho. They are good but not high on my list of amazing snes games. I should give Tropic Freeze a go tho.
