I bought a $50 eshop card the other day as a preemptive for the digital sales that are going to happen presumably Friday-Monday.
I’m not hoping for a lot to be on sale. I mainly want Oninaki, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon and the Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 pack to go on sale. Anything else in my wish list that goes on sale I’ll have to gauge by price and interest. Those aforementioned titles are the ones I holding out for though.
If the romancing saga games get discounted further I’d appreciate that too cause I alsp wanna get those.
Man, playing Arcade Archives In the Hunt showed me how trash I am at the game now. Granted, I haven’t played the game since 1996, but still. I did two play throughs first of the USA version and then with the JPN version. Its always cool to see the differences between game versions. Stages 3 and 4 are swapped probably becauae Irem in America thought stage 3 was a bit much to spring on the player. It does have one of the coolest bosses in the game and I loke how you gotta drop buildings on him to beat him. The endings are also different between the JPN and USA versions, with the JPN having the better of the two. I do recommend turning on rapid fire even though it can cause some slow down during certain sections. The game is also kinda brutal on Normal.
Psyvariar Delta is mad good. The Buzz System reminds me of Danmaku Unlimited 3, another SHMUP I really like. Buzz System is very similar to it (minus the level up aspect) and since Psyvariar was released waaaaaay before Danmaku Unlimited 3, I wouldn’t be surprised if the makers of that game were huge fans of Psyvariar. I’m already playing through it again after my first initial six stages. Psyvariar Delta just may have become one of my fave games of 2019.
Haha, I’ve been watching a re-stream of ol’ dsp play that latest Pokemon game, and yeah…it looks soooo uninteresting; so incredibly stale…like the most unappealing form of turn-based “action” I’ve seen since the 8-bit days. I am also not sure how anyone is entertained by this shit. Besides the fact that I can’t stand that style of combat in a game in the first place… the characters don’t even look like they are hitting each other most of the time. It looks stupid AND lazy as hell from a design standpoint. One especially funny point in Skill Up’s vid on it highlighted the poor animations too—like that rabbit pokemon was fighting something…and he slowed it down for a second…you can clearly see that all they did was move the character up off the ground for a brief moment when the attack happened…all while he’s still in that standing/idle animation (like imagine if you saw Ryu’s classic idle animation from SF2 stayed the same as he jumped. Yeah that’s the kind of laziness we’re talking about here.)…c’mon bruh GET the hell outta here with that
Despite all this, it will continue to be one of the most popular/successful game IPs of all time for some reason (I’m thinking it’s mostly off nostalgia and name recognition at this point)… it amazes me.
Meanwhile on stuff I actually enjoy— I noticed the playtime on Dead Cells… I’m up to 300+ hours on the Switch version at this point.
That always been Pokemon, alot of the lack of animations are from technical limitations, you want every monster to have unquiet attack animations for every attack and skill they learn in the game? With over 900+ Monsters you are not going to have that. Short cuts are made not because of laziness but practicality.
that’s been a main reason why I haven’t bought Sw/Sh yet. I barely touch Pokemon Go as it is, and I’m worried that it would be the same thing for me; where I would barely play it (and have wasted $60 in the process).
Games of interest on sale (IMO). The prices next to them are their discounted prices. I’m on mobile and on lunch so I don’t have time to put their previous sales price.
Im also sure I’m failing to mention some but I either a) overlooked them or b) didn’t feel their reduced price was big enough to warrant mention m.

The Capcom Beatemup Collection is a must for fans of that genre, imo… I already have it though I haven’t played in a while though due to my eternal addiction to Dead Cells and Diablo
Oh and Galak-Z is pretty fun too; I’d definitely get it at that price if I didn’t already have it…my only gripe is that it isn’t quite as action packed as I was hoping, but I just love the visual style of it…that’s what caught my attention right away back when it was only on PS4.

20XX
Stick it to the Man
I passed on Blaster Master Zero and Mighty Gunvolt because of all the DLC they each had. If I’m going to buy a game that’s already been out for a while I want the whole package, you know? I just don’t have the money to swing for base game and Dlc right now. I passed up on BMZ2 cause I want to play the game before it first.
20XX looks like a mega man x clone but with cute robot girls. So I’m all about that.
Stick it to the man is an incredibly funny and charming indie I played on the PS4. I really enjoyed it. It was also only $3. Lol.
I may still pick up the castlevania Collection and/or Phoenix Wright Collection. On the fence about both.
