The Nintendo Switch Thread! - Deadly Premonition 2: Blessing in Disguise 7/10 - Paper Mario: The Origami King 7/17

Yes they did, the results are a bit up for debate.

and I went through my $40 pretty much with a little over $8 to spare.

Picked up Grandia HD Collection and Valfaris.

Excellent choice.

@radiantsilvergun3 I caved and got Castlevania Collection. The main selling point to me for the Collection is it doesn’t have any of the Playstation or portable castlevanias. :+1:

It still has Simon’s quest though which is a bummer. That game would be enjoyable if it hadn’t been originally translated by monkeys. I doubt Konami fixed any of the dialog when porting it over to the Collection.

I also got the season pass for M+R Kingdom Battle since it was 50% off. I mainly got it to try Donkey Kong mode. Apparently it’s really really good.

Yea if I had put the collection together I would have dumped Simons Quest and the gameboy games for Rondo, Adventure Rebirth, and CVX maybe.

I hate being picky but some details are like playing against me for getting collections. Contra collections I still have and play Contra III on my SNES (beat it on Hard mode with my bro when he visited me) so to me the NES versions are more valuable and sadly Contra Force is missing (came out late NES era and it still is a great game). Capcom beat em up would be a insta buy for me if it had Alien vs Predator (arcade beat em up version). Not that I have tons of money to spare rn but still the amount of games on sale right now is ridiculous

Yeah. Not having the Capcom Punisher game and Capcom AvP are huge missed opportunities, imo. Both those games are phenomenal.

It probably wasn’t worth it to capcom to add them as they are licensed games. It would suck ass if the collection needed to be taken down because the license for either game expired.

Oh I know why they didn’t and why they can’t. Doesn’t mean I can’t be salty about it. lol

Decided to pick up Stay Cool Kobayashi A River City Ransom Story. Wasn’t on sale but meh.

previously I assumed that it was because AvP is a licensed thing…but then again they went and put it on that arcade “Capcom” joystick collection thing recently…which was quite a surprise to me; I was thinking we would NEVER see an official release of the old Aliens vs. Predator arcade game.

y’know…that 1 game was the main reason I modded 1 of my PSPs (heh, yep I had 2) hopefully it still works; I haven’t even charged up my PSP in a long time now…since later I obviously moved on to Vita and other systems.

On another cheapshot note—I wonder how long until That Company (They Who Should Not Be Named) disappoints western fans once again when it comes to Phantasy Star? Wasn’t there some news of it (PSO2?) coming to Switch at some point in the future? (several YEARS late, btw) I can’t wait to see how that inevitably goes wrong. It still pains me that I had to give up on that franchise.
ah ok— coming to XB1 in the west— At Long Last, Phantasy Star Online 2 Is Coming to the West
but watch this fall through…or something…SOMETHING will be fucked up about it, just watch

…so many great memories coming back to me though… before Diablo 3, this was the most addictive game/series of all time for me; hundreds of hours spent on that game, man… one of my favorite enemy types was always the Chaos Sorcerer and their ultimate form “Gran Sorcerer”

…and it was so cool that you could actually get that weapon they use; it was one of my most sought after legendary weapons in the old PSO.

Fuck I broke down and ordered the Steam pad.
It was $13.30 after tax and shipping

ok hell yeah I’m getting it now… Blade II The Return of Evil is on sale too…and of course one should always specify, I guess…no, not one of my favorite badass vampires ever…not THAT Blade (unfortunately; it’s a damn shame he’s barely appeared in video games, if ya ask me)… this game is something different:

I’ll have to make some space though; I still haven’t bought a new, bigger card, and I’m very low on space these days.

I took a peek at the sales on the eshop and they actually have a ton of games a really great/solid prices. I feel like I want to buy so much shit on there. Only thing I could think of as I was scrolling was ‘oh no…this is bad…’

For sure. The 3DS eshop also has a tooooon of good shit on sale too.

All of Etrian odyssey
All of the Sega ages titles
All of the “3D” remakes of classics
Phoenix Wright titles
All the SMT and Persona Q games
All the River City Ransom games

That’s just what I can think of off the top of my head.

also—that Namco Museum collection is on sale for 10 bucks and change; I will more than likely be getting that… mainly for Galaga '88 (my absolute favorite Galaga), Rolling Thunder 1 & 2 and Dig Dug (a bit underrated classic, imo) … would’ve been nice if they had Ms. Pacman and/or Super Pac-man… those were more interesting than the original, “regular” Pac-man, naturally.

ohhh and it also has Splatterhouse…

…BUT… Ori & the Blind Forest is on sale too…and I’ve wanted that game for quite some time; it’s been on sale tons of times in the past few years, and I kept getting sidetracked and would forget about it…
