Square most definately. It’s a must and also, a HAVE TO on their behalf. Square has the guy who made this genre what it is today. Well, the isometric part of it. One of the forefathers of the SPRPG genre itself. It would be a waste to see this not realized anytime soon.
As for the excuses: You got Tactics Arena and Dufos out there online, made by people in their own basement on their SPARE TIME. Square Enix has this guy here,an R and D department, and all they could think of is “…we don’t have the resources to pull this off on the DS”. It’s Chess in a more enhanced form. How hard is that for a company that has been developing electronic entertainment for online play for what? 4-5 years?
Sounds like they can’t dumb down FFT’s Online structure a little to accomodate this game for that type of play. It’s probably a ram thing since Luminous ARc is doing it with a preset team of characters for their battles.
They stated it themselves, Ichhi, that there’d be a Disgaea. I wouldn’t want this. Game looks confusing as heck.
Check ultimate-guitar.com but beware of pop ups. There are a bunch of chord sites out there. If you’re looking for a specific song, type in the song name and “tabs” or “chords” in google… if its popular enough, you should find it.
that was rather misleading. I see the cool looking characters up top and then I see the crappy looking in game characters below them. If they aren’t going to look any better, then just make them a stylized 2d. FF3 had the same problem. They were essentially FF tactics characters, but they looked like crap in 3d.
I will probably buy it anyway, just like I’ve done with every other FF game, but at least 4 was worth paying for the first 3 times I paid for it. Maybe this would be worth it too, but I don’t have high hopes for FF games anyway at this point. I remember when having square soft on the box meant you were getting a great game, and then we hit the 3d era and square became much bigger and started producing more crap than good games. /rant
… hard to say now, really. Square Enix has story-telling, which has not been lost in any form that they have taken(Soft, EA, Enix). The remade FFs look more like the Puzzle Fighter equivalency to RPGs than something serious. Anyway. I’d figure that we’d be going somewhere good with these titles.
