Do the controls ruin scribblenauts? Kind of worried about all of the complaints I’m reading.
The links I posted have gameplay footage. Game informer make it sound like mass effect lite:lovin:
Some kind of deep narrative, 2d anime cutscenes, over 150 ways to customize ship and crew, realtime 3d spaceship battles, realtime 3d ship crew battles (apparently you can board the enemy ship and fight.)
Have seen very little but it sounds siiiiiiick, also the fact that it’s a topseller in japan now doesn’t hurt then again japan usually has weird (shitty) taste as far as the games that sell well.
I have 16 ds games each costing $10-25 I could have double that for free…someone pm me lol.
I’m praying for a DS port of Disgaea 2.
Most of the trouble for solving puzzles in scribble comes from the controls. I spent 15 minutes on one stage just because I couldn’t get x to connect to y properly, or I kept falling into shit because the main character didn’t listen, so I finally gave up on that strategy and had to do something else.
Still fun game, but anything that requires precision gets frustrating as hell.
Ow, my wallet hurts. I had to cover Scribblenauts twice, for my siblings, on top of a huge DS game shopping spree the week prior.
I also decided to try Mario and Luigi this time around. I want to wait on a price drop on Partners in Time, I think it’s still too high for a used copy. (More than NEW Bowser’s Story)

DS Holiday Lineup:
New Shantae! Heard that the original was one of the best GBC games made.
Spirit Tracks
KH 358/2
Kamen Rider
PS Zero
Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing.
that’s about it.
Imagine Sweet 16!..GOTY BAYBEEEEE!!
sigh…
As for Shantae…I’ve heard good things about the first game but IIRC it didn’t get any attention. I’m hoping that this one doesn’t slip under the radar like that last one if it actually turns out to be good. Also waiting to hear more info on COP: The Recruit and the TMNT arcade brawler game.
Yo Stuart. Have you heard or seen anything on Kamen Rider?
Nope. Just a fan of Kamen Rider.
Zelda
KH
shantae
everything else is shit except maybe phantasy star. I’m really torn between bowers inside story or scribblenatus both games look great I really don’t know which to choose any help?
scribblenauts is fun, but the controls are kind of messy. You have to control the character and objects with the stylus, so there’s a lot of room for error. Only started playing Bowser but its a lot more polished. Funny and fun, but its a pretty easy game, I’m thinking.
If i’ve never played any of the other Mario and Luigi games, will I still like this one?
The writing is well done, and the play mechanics keep you engaged during the battle sequences. I think you’ll enjoy it, but I wouldn’t expect a big challenge (if previous games are any indication. EX: I’ve only passed the first real boss recently, but I have a big stock of healing items from battle pickups and “chests”
Picked up Theresia. Pretty good so far. Fans of shadowgate would like it.
Infinite Space SUCKS
not worth spending money or time on
M&L gets harder later on.
:shake::shake::shake::shake: The GI preview article make it sound like mass effect lite deep narrative and deep customization with ship+crew and realtime 3d combat between ships n crews sounds fucking awesome.
Why does it suck? typical bad anime story? boring slow combat? UI messyness?
Good writing? fun combat mechanics? and a mario game that’s actually not a cakewalk? sorry god on skateboard with shotgun vs cthulu you’ll have to wait.
Have you played it? I’d like to get some type of input on this game since there’s barely been any gameplay vids of it…That and it’s made by Platinum so I’m automatically interested in how it is.
yes i’ve played it
the reason they don’t show you any gameplay is because it’s this super janky system of moving your spaceship back and forth in horrid DS 3d battles
i believe i made it to chapter 3 and said fuck it
actually paid money for that one too. platinum dissapointed
Mario and Luigi 3 might just be the best Mario RPG ever. And thats some serious top tier shit with Superstar Saga and Thousand Year Door.
