The Nintendo DS thread v.2

Yeah, because of all the wait for it, I decided to get Dragon Quest V and am loving it so far. Recruiting and using monsters is too good. But why do you run into metal slimes so early? You get massive exp but you will most likely not be able to hit them as they don’t take much damage and they pull a Entei/Raikou/Suicune and peace out after one turn. I only beat one due to lucky critical but still…

I hope someone here actually got Black Sigil though, so I could get a heads up.

The early Metal Slimes are both for giving you a chance at getting level boost, and to tease the player

I’m considering getting Black Sigil, despite the warnings of frequent random encounters. I’m not a big fan of random encounters in general, but I can tolerate them if the encounter rate is low. But the whole random encounter rate issue could’ve been easily avoided if they didn’t go that route in the first place. I understand that Black Sigil is a throwback to old-school RPGs, and I like old-school RPGs, but some of those old RPGs had non-random encounters, too. Just because it’s old-school doesn’t mean you have the emulate the bad parts.

my friend told me 2 get that game also… but i dont know…

I mainly RAPE at mario kart for the DS, pokemon diamond and platinum, and those the only game me and my college friends play and some old school gba games…

I know I’m a little late to the party, but I’m playing SRT OG Saga after ODing on Pokemon (still up for duels whenever, I just need a rest before I attack Battle Frontier). So far I’m really enjoying it.

I played Black Sigil for about an hour or so and was COMPLETELY turned off by the high attack rate. I haven’t picked it up since, and won’t bother picking it up again either. If it’s one thing I hate, it’s extremely high attack rates.

i love that japanese drum game

GODDAMN, Knights in the Nightmare’s presentation extras are ridiculously amazing. I’m loving the art book and I’m currently ripping the soundtrack. This is how all games should be presented and sold nowadays. It really hypes you up to want to play the game, which I am about to start shortly.

Count on Atlus to give you nice extras. I didn’t get the art book, though…I wonder what kind of extras they’re going to include when Demon’s Souls is released.

I’m playing through the game on Easy, just so I understand how the game works and so I can get used to all the mechanics. I’m definitely going to do multiple playthroughs…KitN is hard to put down once you understand everything. Boss battles are mad fun.

Looks really good. They finally dropped random battles, the alchemy pot is back, and so is the Dharma Temple!

What was wrong with random battles in recent DQ games?

I’m hype for Scribblenauts.

I’m hype for Flower Sun Rain.

this week?!?!?!?!

Has anyone who’s enjoyed GTA: Chinatown Wars paid any attention to ths game?

Nothing in particular. I just prefer non random battles. With random battles, there’s a chance that you have to put up with high encounter rates.

Is there any way to shut off the sound the DS makes when you take a picture? I want to use my DS to take pictures of girl’s feet in secret but it’s really hard to be stealthy when the DS makes such noise.

Usually when I’m taking dirty pictures of women with my DS, I like to pretend I have Tourette’s syndrome. Just yell really loud and awkwardly everytime the camera goes off. Make sure you time it right though, or things could get serious.

Chance that DQIX will suck a dick: 90%
